Our Community

Nestled in the lush, sub-tropical forests of Thora is our community, Homeland. Thora is a valley located near Bellingen, a colourful, enchanting town on the mid-north coast of NSW. We are blessed with the beautiful Bellinger river meandering on the border of our property, with deep swimming holes and a menagerie of local wildlife. We utilise organic and permaculture principals for growing food and gardening and the majority of dwellings on our community are all powered by solar.

4 hours work a day is asked in exchange of accomodation and meals.
The accommodation provided is a comfy caravan..

Hi Help Xchangers

SHORT-TERM HELPERS 3 DAYS to A WEEK*

We're 2 well-travelled middle age people looking for a person (or couple) to do gardening and housework, who is organised, loves to clean, is a good cook and perhaps have some skills that will help us make our lives easier (see list below).

We usually set up a 3-night stay and if we get on, that might be extended to a week (especially if you like a good laugh).

We're living in a villa (that's Aussie for a small house on half a block of land) in the northern beaches region, Sydney's far north. It's a neat, clean fairly new home but we need help with spring cleaning and gardening, in particular landscaping and garden planning and terracing a slightly sloping lawn. Other tasks include painting inside house & fences, organising the garage e.g. building shelving, car detailing/servicing, fixing things, changing lightbulbs we can't reach, teaching us how to keep a home clean without chemicals (as Fiona gets asthma from s... more inside
