We need an energetic, nature and animal loving man to help renovate an old building and to help cut down dead trees in our woods and bring it to the farm.

We are Peter and Wendy an easy going, nature-, animal- and fun-loving Swiss/English couple. We are both Reiki Master Teachers and are willing to share our knowledge to you if you so wish.

We live on a beautiful, peaceful farm in the Tarn region of the south of France where we have 51 hectares (126 acres) of land, including woods. We have 8 retired horses/ ponies (sorry, no riding), 4 lovable dogs, one beautiful loving cat and 2 ducks with their 9 babies. Nearly all of our animals are rescued animals and enjoy being loved and cared for.

The farm lies amongst rolling hills and is surrounded by beautiful country views. The nearest village lies 3.5km away and the ancient town of Albi can be reached within 20mins by car (30 km). There are many other interesting and beautiful places that can be reached within an hour by car... more inside

English presentation:
Hello,

Within the natural reserve of Pyrénées ariégeoises, you’ll be welcomed by us in a large stone country house rebuilt after the French Revolution. Between the villages of Capoulet and Junac, the house is surrounded by two rivers, fields and woods. This old « Commanderie Hospitalière » of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem was known as of 1130.

Come and see a small corner of paradise and help us restore this future home and place dedicated to artist-in residence programs.

Your stay will include gardening tasks, levelling works, cleaning up the river, fixing up dry stone walls and coating.
We’ll need your help approx. 5 hours/day, 5 days/week and we’ll offer you an accommodation (in dormitory or tent, whatever suits you best) and meals. We can host 3 to 5 helpers who are welcome to assist with all the household tasks.

During your free time, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the region (cycling, rock climbing, river bathing, hiking, vis... more inside

Update Summer 2016: Garden help needed late July/early August - trimming hedges, creating veggie plots and creating hardstanding.

In late 2013 we bought a property on the banks of the River Aveyron in the gorgeous Tarn region. It's relatively modern (built in the 1970's as a summer holiday home) but was in need of some conversion and improvement for all year occupation and an extension. All of this has now been achieved with the hard work of our wonderful helpers from near and far! Next to do is some tidying of the outside areas and the creation of a 'beach' area by the river. Your help would be required for 25/30 hours per week, please. General handyman skills would be fantastic but strong biceps and a 'can-do' attitude are all we really need. Gardening know-how would be great too.

During your stay with us you will live either with us in our house, in our ageing but cosy caravan or in our 3.5metre Yurt pitched at the end of our garden on the riverbank, where you can enjoy... more inside

A Rustic, Organic Mountain Paradise.

My partner and I (who is from England, I am from France), live in the french Pyrennes, with our baby boy, Zephyr.

The place is beautifull, very quiet and far from the city. Theres lots of nice walks to do in the area, and breathtaking scenery.

This year's projects include, insulating the roof of the main house, making a bathroom in the cellar, a new dry toilet outside, and a new wood shelter. These are priority jobs, then there are lots of smaller jobs that are always going on. The garden always needs loving attention, there is wood to be cut, chopped and collected, and since we live directly on the mountainside there is always terrassing to make some flat lands, and general landscaping projects. We try to work with organic materials in a sustainable way.

Even for people who want to come and help with cooking, including transformation of foods (conserves, lactofermentation etc. and other domestic work are most welcome. there is a plac... more inside

Hi there!

We have just confirmed a contract with friends of ours that are artisanal. We are going to be putting on a new roof on our house.

We need people August, September and October.

You do not need to be a specialists in roofs for this job.

This roof will be done in the traditional style using slate tiles.

If you fancy coming and helping out get in touch.

Our nearest town is Saint Girons which is famous throughout the Pyrenees for it's Saturday market.

We are well travelled folk ourselves however becoming pregnant with our number 2 we decided to buy this beautiful farmhouse and settle down. We chose here purely for the lifestyle. Rich in food, rich in health and rich in beauty.

We have a good mixture of local and international friends and we are a bilingual family.

Life here in the hamlet is pretty special. Although our neighbours are a lot older (and were born here in the hamlet, literally) they have welcomed us with open arms and accepted us... more inside
