I have a beautiful home on the ridge in Elanora on the Gold Coast, South East Queensland, Australia. It is in a Koala sanctuary, surrounded by bush and wildlife. Often you will see wallabies grazing in the back yard, and if you are patient, also koala’s in the trees. You definitely will hear the latter even if you do not see them!
There are plenty of bush walks around my house for you to explore the native wildlife.

In my opinion (and many helpers that I have hosted) my offer is a great opportunity to live in a very special part of the Gold Coast. The property is set in bushland but is only five (5) minutes drive to Currumbin Beach and close to other beaches and Shopping Centres. The Pines Shopping Centre is the closest to my home and provides all that you would need. I have found most helpex people are not into large shopping centres and prefer beaches and wilderness which my property has in spades.
I would prefer a couple as I have found that better for me and you can ... more inside

CURRENTLY AWAY TRAVELLING UNTIL 2019

I am a young woman living in an old cottage on Castle Hill right by the sea with my partner Eike (who is from Germany) and our lovely friend Kyana (Eike is currently doing a phd in Medical Genetics and Kyana is about to start her phd). Our home is a beautiful 100 year old cottage known in the neighbourhood as 'The Rainforest House'. It's home to many birds, butterflies, kangaroos and a resident Turkey (who we love but he is rather fond of destroying my vege patch so the relationship with him is a little rocky at the moment).

I am an avid gardener and am currently working on turning our front yard into a little food garden. I work with Autistic children at a little sustainable school nearby & travel on the school holidays.

The Ferry to Magnetic Island is right down the road and I spend each weekend there as my parents are currently building their own house there. I love to have travellers/friends come and stay and take them camping at the... more inside

We are a Holisiticaly Managed 15 acre Permaculture farm 20min east of Gympie at the northern end of the Sunshine Coast. We are using the Keyline Scale of Permanence to develop infrastructure and tree systems on the farm. The existing Macadamia orchard is in the process of being replanted and converted to organic production. We keep goats in a holistic grazing system, moving them daily through the property to manage the orchard and improve pastures. We are approaching a 'closed loop' farming system, recycling most wastes on farm, harvesting our own mulches, making composts and brewing compost teas. We minimise the amount of external inputs needed to create fertility. Currently help is needed with orchard work, tree planting, beekeeping, vegetable harvesting & mulching. Work is based on your interests and experience, and we try and frame jobs as a learning experience, showing how each component fits into the whole farm plan. We also have many building projects on the go where I'm happ... more inside
