We are currently seaking a volunteer to help us run, as part of a team of 3, the hostel during the months of May and June 2018.

We are a modest (14 bed) backpackers hostel, in a beutiful country location close to the Eden Project and the town of St Austell in mid Cornwall.
The hostel is immediately adjacent to our cottage and utilises an existing complex of a stable yard and buildings. These have been sensitively converted into two dorms, a common area, shower block and courtyard kitchen.
We also have a modest growing area for organic soft fruits and vegetables.
The volunteer is offered accommodation in our cottage with their own room and single bed. Full board is provided with free use of telephone (for UK landline calls) and wifi.

We are a free range, semi self sufficient dairy farm, milking cows once a day on a rotary parlour.
We are looking for people to come and share our home, join in with family meals and our family life. In return we would like some help with milking most mornings so some experience would be very useful but not essential.
There is an old tractor that has been half way restored so if you enjoy tinkering with ancient mechanics this could be for you!
We also need help in the garden. There is a large vegetable garden which is sadly neglected and needs some TLC to get it back to being a productive organic vegetable source for the house.
Keeping the farm clean and tidy and helping move cows from field to field. About 4 hours help a day.
We are very remote and rural, the nearest shop is 5 miles away. There is a great country pub 3 miles away. We are an hour's drive from the North Devon coast with great surfing.
Over the last 10 years we have lots of Aussies and Kiwis stay with us ... more inside

I am slowly setting up an organic permaculture farm on 2.6 acres near the North coast of Cornwall. We will be camping in tents, with 1 space in a caravan during the summer while we create an edible forest garden, a no-dig market garden, plant trees, make paths, clear brambles, tend our beehive, and learn about growing food. Solar power available for occasional internet and movie nights, but the field is very basic so self-sufficient types only please. I am working in care to pay for this so will be working with you at least 3 days a week, up to 7.
We will be carrying with building and insulating our large shed/cabin, plus establishing beds for a no-dig market garden.
Surfboard/bodyboard/kayak available for use, with kitchen in caravan and collected drinking water, and rainwater for showers in the polytunnel.
I'm no slave driver - we'll balance out work with chill time on the land and at the beaches all around us. We're sited on a popular cycle route.

We have a large Georgian Farmhouse just outside Castle Combe - one of Englands most beautiful Cotswolds villages, which was recently used as the location for Stephen Spielberg's movie 'War Horse'. We operate as a Guest House and also have two self catering cottages in the grounds. Guests can have dinner and afternoon tea here which is all home made using mostly our own home grown vegetables and fruit which we produce on our land. We are looking for helpers throughout the year and we usually prefer it if you can stay three weeks or longer. We have a lovely Vintage Shepherds Hut where our helpers can sleep during the summer months. In the winter we have a cosy room in the Farmhouse for our helpers. We would really like someone who enjoys cooking and cleaning and home maintenance together with all aspect of the hospitality business. I have recently moved to England and have an old Victorian house that needs a lot of loving restoration as it has not had much done to it for many years. As the spring is here Iím trying to get the garden planted out with summer vegetables, in new raised beds, and I am working in the house removing old paint and redecorating.
Weston Super Mare is on the coast, not far from the vibrant city of Bristol. Its an well known seaside town with some very old fashioned aspects such as the pier, promenade and a huge sandy beach, but it has had a lot of attention recently as the famous Dismaland Exhibition by Banksy was held there. The city of Bristol is one of the most innovative cities in the UK with a big university, art galleries, cinemas, parks and is only a 20 minute train journey from Weston. It also has an international airport.
During the past 20 years I have been living in Spain where I often had Helpx workers staying with me, and I have been very happy with them, so I look fo... more inside

Having lived in northern Spain for three years our daughter speaks spanish well and we enjoy meeting and speaking with spanish speaking people. We have moved into some barns which we converted half into a home and half into an engineering workshop. We are surrounded by spectacular countryside with opportunity for walking and cycling. You would have lots of opportunity to meet people as there are always friends and family visiting so it is a fantastic place to practice english. There is a train station 3 miles away. We have four lovely children aged 9, 7, and 5, and 0, chickens and a vegetable garden.
We have a bedroom and bathroom at the other end of our house so you would have privacy and not be woken up early! We hope to have people who enjoy spending time with children, can help us in the garden and poly tunnel, and help running our busy house hold. (Hanging up washing, help in the kitchen etc)
