We are keen green recyclers living in a large edwardian house (1904) We have had wonderful helpXers since summer 07 and they have done great things in the house and garden.

We would like you to come initially for 2 weeks, to help in the house and garden and also to help with young foreign students who stay with us while they study at language school nearby. We would like you to do jobs that we don't have time to get done ourselves. You will mostly work alone or with another helper; you will eat with us and mealtimes are when you can chat and improve your English.

We ask HelpXers to work 25 hours each week. The times will vary; usually in the mornings, but sometimes afternoons/evenings. Hopefully we will have another helper so that you have someone to work with and to go exploring after work - perhaps you can come with a friend?

We like to get to know our helpers before we agree to a long stay; come for one or two weeks to see how we get along... Please do not ask us to ... more inside

i am now considering applications for January/February.

We offer a comfortable room and good food in exchange for congenial company and someone who is willing to undertake a range of tasks such as gardening, cleaning etc

Our 2 daughters after time spent travelling (and Helpxing) are now at university, so our household usually consists of two people and two large dogs (friendly, bouncy and always pleased to meet new people) We also have a rabbit.

We are situated in a rural location mid way between Cambridge and Newmarket, five minutes walk from the bus stop. Cambridge is eight miles away and from there it is only an hour by train to London (50 minutes on a fast train)

We offer a room with small double bed and en suite toilet, shower and wash basin. Bedding and towels are provided. There is a small TV in the room and wifi is available. Non-smokers only please.

Family home farm devoted to horses and (soon) Berkshire pigs (plus some poultry). It borders the 12,000 acre Longleat estate where the horses are exercised, and you can go for runs etc.

At the end of a private lane in the Somerset countryside but only a mile from the market town of Frome, and half an hour by car from Bath and Bristol. We are looking for somebody cheerful (and strong!) with experience in stone walling/post and rail fencing and some looking after horses/other bits and pieces around the farm.

7.30am - 11.30am and the rest of your time is your own. Food is provided, warm caravan accommodation inside a barn. Bicycles you can borrow to explore the countryside. Phone work reference required please.

A large old property in need of repair with a large garden in need of care. The work is varied - hedgetrimming, mowing lawns, weeding the vegetable patch, clearing undergrowth from the wooded area. Also exterior and interior sanding and painting. We try to work outside in good weather and save indoor jobs for poor weather unless they are urgent.
We rent out 2 rooms and a caravan on Airbnb during the main tourist season so there is the possibility of some housekeeping tasks between May-September.
We ask for 20 hours of work a week in exchange for food and accommodation. Outside of the agreed hours you are free to explore the area. We do ask, however, that you do not bring additional guests back to the house.
We are a 10 minute walk from a large beach and 100 metres from the Hayle Estuary.

You will have your own room with wifi. If you come as a couple, you will share a room. You will also share a bathroom with a maxim... more inside

We have a large Georgian Farmhouse just outside Castle Combe - one of Englands most beautiful Cotswolds villages, which was recently used as the location for Stephen Spielberg's movie 'War Horse'. We operate as a Guest House and also have two self catering cottages in the grounds. Guests can have dinner and afternoon tea here which is all home made using mostly our own home grown vegetables and fruit which we produce on our land. We are looking for helpers throughout the year and we usually prefer it if you can stay three weeks or longer. We have a lovely Vintage Shepherds Hut where our helpers can sleep during the summer months. In the winter we have a cosy room in the Farmhouse for our helpers. We would really like someone who enjoys cooking and cleaning and home maintenance together with all aspect of the hospitality business. We are a family with two very young children and looking for some assistance around the house, general tidying / organising.

Approximately 4 hours a day but with most of the day available for you to explore the area. We live 10 minutes walk from the town (St Peter Port), or to our beautiful local beaches.

Accommodation is a room separate to the house, but you can eat and live with us.

Would suit someone wanting to experience the Channel Islands and learn some English.

The Presbytery is an old vicarage now used as our home with a large garden, tennis court, field and some woodland. We - Penny (now retired from working in our National Health Service) and Frank (retired from working in education) - are an older but active couple and we will welcome anyone to help us maintain the property (outside and inside). The garden and outside areas - especially around the tennis court (which may be used) and field need clearing of undergrowth and adjacent trees pruned back and needs general upkeep. Inside the house needs some decorating and other general maintenance work. Penny has some health issues and cannot tolerate cigarette smoke, so there cannot be smoking anywhere in the house.

The Presbytery is in the East Sussex countryside (classified as an area of outstanding natural beauty) and public transport is quite limited. However, we do have two bicycles that can be borrowed and there are beautiful walks nearby. We can reach the railway station in about... more inside
