We are a sheep, cattle and dryland farming enterprise on the border between Queensland and NSW. We live in a fairly remote area - very quiet out in the bush - 60km from the nearest big town of Goondiwindi. If you are interested in an Australian bush experience with some fishing along with a few hours per day working with sheep and cattle and some fencing thrown in, then this is for you.

We are working on re-establishing a neglected property. Our plans are to reclaim the fence lines and upgrade the fencing as well as new fences. This involves chainsaw work, barbed wire running and attaching. Some tractor work will be needed at this stage and further on we will have areas to plough and seed. We wish to create a mixed orchard from scratch, water lines establish etc. We have some cows now who are very friendly, most have names. We want to set-up for a few free range pigs, English Black pigs, they are quiet with great natures. Mostly we want to love what we do and feel good putting life back to this farm.
We are 3 vege and meat people, but are happy and willing to learn and cater for others. Shopping has to be planned so please talk about your needs before turning up to the front gate. Smoking is not prefered, again we are willing to consider if the visitor follows a few simple guidlines. Social drinking is OK in the evening hours self catered only.

We are just short of the centre of town, so a small walk will get you everywhere.
Malanda also is surrounded by plenty of oppertunities to see the beauty of the tropics.
4 hours work per day in exchange for food and accomodation. Work would involve gardening, painting, keeping the pool clean and general house cleaning and maintenance.
Stays longer than 1 week are negotiable.

This is a 540 acre, 3000 tree olive grove, situated 2.5 hours from Brisbane at the foothills of the Bunya Mountains. We produce both table and oil bearing olives of ten varieties. The entire production process occurs on the farm from a dedicated factory - that is, from tree to bottles and jars. A large variety of fruit and vegetables are produced organically and processed into jams and pickles in the on-farm commercial kitchen. We own the nearby Maidenwell Trading Post which is a convenience store, cafe and gift store that also serves as an outlet for our entire farm produce.

We require helpers for our April/May olive harvest. This involves hand picking table olives using a mobile net (see photo) and follow-up scavenge picking the oil bearing olives after the tree shaking harvester.

Accommodation will be in a self-contained air-conditioned cottage - Possum Hut (see photo). Meals will be shared with us at our lodgings but breakfast will be provided at Possum Hut.

I am a mother with a 15 year old son who would be happy to host guests in return for general house and yard duties. I live in a lovely old timber home which is very comfortable but needs some work, particularly gardening. I am surrounded by sugar cane fields, with beautiful creeks, swimming holes and walking tracks close by. I can provide a double bed/and a single bed in your own room.

I do not need any helpers at the moment, thanks.
