We own an apple tree plantation. The apples are used to make cider in a traditional way. We do the cider by ourselves here. We need help to pick up the apples from the trees. There are 1.600 apples in the plantation.

The plantation is situated in a beautiful place in the country, 25 minutes far from Santander and one hour far from Bilbao.

Work will be mainly picking apples. Work hours are 5 hours a day.

We have comfortable double rooms for accomodation. WIFI is available (but signal is a bit weak).

Drugs and excess alcohol consumption are NOT allowed. Smoking is not allowed inside the house.

You can stay at home, a nice stone house in the middle of the plantation.

This is a large finca of terraces and forest in the foothills of the pyrenees. The house is very remote up a 2km track and twenty minutes walk from a very small village. We are almost finished renovating the farmhouse and at last have running water and electricity. Sometimes we have builders working with us but can always offer a variety of work for those who prefer working the land. We have lots of weeding to do and try and work in an ecological way. We have various projects ongoing at the same tme. We speak English, Spanish and Portuguese. The area is spectacularly beautiful with an 11th century castle ruin and hermitage. Great for nature and wildlife with Golden Eagles nesting in the valley and great for climbing and walking. Definitely for those who enjoy the peace and quiet of the wilderness. We offer accomodation and good food for five hours per day five days a week. And we will introduce you to the spanish pyrenees. The work is mainly out door from building drystone walls... more inside

Our house is solar run with a back up generator, but we do have mod cons - like a 50'' tv, fridge freezer, washing machine, laptop, internet etc etc.

Ugijar has a market twice a month on the 5th and 20th and fiestas throughout the year -
along with neighbouring towns of Cadiar, Valor, Yegen and Berja, to name but a few.

Granada and Almeria can be reached by bus from Ugijar.

We have dogs, chickens, love birds, Rosellas, Koi and gold fish - along with 535 grape vines (Cabernet Suavingon, Merlot and Syrah), which we have made our first batch of wine this year. 10 Almond trees, 3 Olive trees - and overgrown land that we wish to cut back and do something with.

We are a Spanish- Portuguese couple with a son who is two years old. We also have a dog and a cat. We speak Spanish, Portuguese, English and a bit of French.

We are developing a design for sustainability project. To achieve this we use permaculture.

Terra Purna is a perfect place for learning and sharing your knowledge about permaculture design and practice, bio-construction, energy systems, gardening, self sufficiency, and zero-waste living solutions.

We began our project in February 2015. Since then we have achieved lots: we have planted the first 200 trees of a forest garden, seeded a family vegetable garden based on sinergetic agriculture, constructed and installed a water storage and management system (two ponds, one swale, storage tanks, and a hydraulic ram), and installed a photovoltaic-based energy system. We have also rebuilt a little stone house.

There are three areas of work, here at Terra Purna:

- Everyday tasks related to the general maintenance of the... more inside

Our land is at 1100 metres in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains in southern Spain, and we have a small house in a traditional white village 5 minutes away. There is one large bedroom available, with two double beds. The scenery around is beautiful and there are several good walks nearby.

We have olive, almond and fruit trees, and grape vines (for wine). We would love some general help with the land - harvesting, strimming, rotavating, pruning and so on.

However, we are only there for periods of 2 weeks or so at a time, and need help most at harvest time. The next occasion will be in January, when we prune the vines and get the olives off the trees and take them to the local mill to be made into oil. Unfortunately, we don't have exact dates yet...
