Ours is a clean and humble home in a small village in the Noosa hinterland. We offer our spare bedroom in exchange for whatever skill or strength you would like to offer: gardening, cooking, general maintenance, IT assistance, etc. This is an ideal place to listen to music or read as there is no TV. Broadband access to internet available including wireless. Happy to negotiate arrangements that suit individual helpers. Public transport to Noosa and the hinterland.

We are a family operated cattle station in Cape York. We have good accomodation, and meals are good home cooked meals.( ALL of our meals contain Beef.) We are a remote property, there are no shops, and there are dirt roads, and our nearest neighbour is about half an hour away.
The family who live here on the property is my-self (Sue) and my husband Tom( who has lived here all his life) and my Son and his wife,(Shelley) who also live and work here.
We do lots of cattle work,(Mustering, branding)feeding animals, fencing, cooking, cleaning, gardening, maintance in the shed and around the house, anything that needs to be done at the time. We have alot of tourist who drop in to see the birds and we also have lots of wildlife, Kangaroos, Wild pigs, Dingos, Crocodiles, Goanna's and then we have all our station pets, Goats, Pigs, Chooks, Horses, Dogs, Cattle, Birds.
It all depends on the weather and the seasons on what is happening here on the property.

I live in an old Queenslander on a quiet acreage 2km from Cooroy. Cooroy has all the shops, banks, transport (bus and rail) that a traveller could want. It is 15 minutes to the Noosa River and 20 minutes to Noosa Heads. There is a double bedroom available for 1 or 2 people. Another room would be good for 1 person. Can provide food, but if you cook it would be a bonus. I have no particular projects on the go just now but have always got little things that need doing.

Our properties are located 2.5 hours from Cairns on the edge of the outback. They include a holiday park which has 7 thermal pools, self contained accommodation and camping and caravan facilities and tennis court. Hotel/Motel is 50 meters across the hot creek. It is a small country Pub with 5 motel units. The Station carries 3000 brahman cattle, mustering is by helicopter and horse - 3 times a year. Fossicking for topaz, bush walks etc are popular. Park, Hotel/Motel and the Station are adjoining properties. They may be asked to help with room cleaning and sometimes serve in the canteen. At the hotel they may be asked to help in the garden and cleaning of units. My place is situated 18km from Airlie Beach and 7km From Proserpine, so people with their own transport are preferred. I am setting my property up as Organic and Permaculture orientated as possible.

It is a Sub-tropical forrest setting with many fruit tree's and edible plants. A Chicken, a Pig and Sheep (soon to come). Banana's, Jackfruit, Pomelo, Citrus, Avocado, CustardApples, Passionfruit, StarApple, StarFruit, etc...

I am a colector of rare and tropical fruit trees and have a passion for Banana varieties. It is great having organic Banana's all year round.

I also teach Fly Fishing and take Fly Fishing Charters. On non working days I often go fishing and enjoy some company in return for work in the garden or on the house. I almost always see Turtles, Sharks, sometimes Dugong and Whales in Winter. Fresh fish for dinner is always possible.

I live in a Solar powered house that I designed and built, I rely on rain water and sunlight for power, but I will build a wi... more inside
