I think we have a couple of helpers organised for February/March, but you are welcome to email us if you have a solid background with horse-working.

One very important thing I forgot to mention is that you ride at your own risk, therefore you simply must have an appropriate travel insurance to cover you riding and farm activities - medicare is only available to Australian citizens so you may end up paying a lot of money for medical treatment if you do not have the right cover. (We do our best to keep riders safe, but horse-riding is a dangerous activity and accidents are always possible no matter how good you are)
....................................

We would like to offer work on a farm near Canberra to 1 or 2 helpx visitors from February 2014. A minimum stay of 3 weeks is desirable.

We are farmers who live in the Burra Valley, about an hour's travel from the centre of Canberra. We are primary producers and live solely from our farm. We have only two pet sheep, Obama and ... more inside

We are a young married couple who run a horse stud and vet clinic. We also run a small farm with sheep and of course our horses. We also have chooks, ducks, dogs and cats.
We are still busy setting up our facilities on the farm and horse stud and are looking for a 1 or 2 people to do all sorts of general farm and gardening duties. Some of these include, tractor work, sheep work, horse work, irrigation, farm redevelopment, cementing, building farm infrastructure and much much more. If you love farming and are enthusiastic and keen then we would love to hear from you. We are also in the middle of renovating a cottage on one of our farms so some jobs there as well. Because of the nature of our workload at the moment we would prefer men but a couple would be fine. We can offer on farm self contained accomodation. Meals and board supplied. Some meals cooked in our house and some you will have to cook in your house. We are looking for an average of 5 hours per day for 5 days per week. So... more inside

***We may be able to take people between 13-20th January 2014. Otherwise, we are probably not available, but you can try us!***

We live 10 minutes from the beautiful beaches of the NSW south coast. Plenty of national parks and wildlife.
We are a busy couple (aged 38 and 39) with no children or animals, but a lot of land on which we are trying to regenerate native bushland. We need help with gardening type jobs - weed control, slashing, clearing up and cutting wood, planting, watering and construction of terraces.
We live in a brand new home in which you will have your own room, but we also need help with some jobs to put the final touches on our house, such as painting, paving/concreting and carpentry.
We will try to make ourselves available to show you around the beautiful sights of our region during weekends as a reward for your hard work.
Stephane is French and we would also be happy to use/practice our french.
Our closest town (Bega) is 6km away and can be reached by bus... more inside

We breed quarterhorses. Have a citrus orchard, poultry, and a vegetable patch. The property is close to town and in a spectacular setting at the base of the Border Ranges. It is 20 minutes to beaches and 30 mins to Gold coast airport. The house is 105 years old. We would welcome help with the horses but it is not essential. There are many small improvements to the property that we would like help with. Darcy and I grew up in this valley but have travelled extensively and enjoy meeting people. We are only a short flat bicycle ride from the pretty town of Murwillumbah and provide bicycles to ride to town or explore the valley. At present we need a handyman to help spruce up the farm buildings and restore some fences.

Our property is on top of a ridge with limited flat area. We have 3 paddock areas, which need further fencing. We have some garden areas which need to be completed and we would like to create a screened area near the house for growing herbs. We have hens and 4 Dorper sheep which are currently on a neighbour's property until we can get more secure fencing.

We have a large area of dry rainforest terrain with walking tracks accessing many parts of it. We need to constantly do lantana eradication and maintenance.

We would be interested in enquiries for staying with us from February 2014.

We have 3 dogs and a cat and two horses. Our home started as a weekender and we have had aN extension built, which is designed for guests to have a private space but there is ample communal area.
