This is a working pecan farm. We have about 1500 pecan trees on 90 hectares. We are in a beautiful valley surrounded by National Park.

Location: We are about 4 hours North-West of Sydney. The closest town is Denman (35km away) a very small town with limited shopping, but a nice pub. Muswellbrook (65km away) is a much bigger town with good shopping.

Getting here: A daily train service to Muswellbrook and we can pick you up from there.

Accommodation: A basic but comfy house. You can have your own room in the house or bring your own tent or caravan.

Food: We eat lots of healthy food. Salads & vegetables (grown in our garden) and some meat usually cooked on our outdoor BBQ. And of course, there are all-you-can-eat pecans during the winter / spring months.

Things to do: There are lots of really nice walks around here. We are on the edge of Wollemi National Park the largest wilderness area in NSW. You are guaranteed to spot lots of Wallabies (like small k... more inside

Hi, there, Im a 56 yo male farmer, married to a lady who, due to commitments, lives a lot of her time in Sydney. I am wondering if there is someone who would like to live with us, become part of the family and help out a bit. It is a beautiful and peaceful part of the world. The house is a lovely oldie, fully refurbished and has a small swimming pool and we offer a good sized bedroom. In return we offer full board - everything, even use of a car if required We are 15 mins from Dunedoo, an hour from Mudgee, Dubbo and Gilgandra. We neither drink or smoke. The position would suit someone with a passion for the country life. We consider ourselves to be well humoured and lovers of life. Most importantly we are caring and honest people and would be delighted if we could have the opportunity to help and be helped. Retirees most welcome
Sincerely,
John

A cow paddock that we would like to see return to more native habitat and food production. Located in the middle of the village and a 20 min walk from a local waterfall tourist attraction, you can easily meet many other possible volunteer farmstay type hosts from here.

We live a simple life in a big two storey shed. We swim in the creek to wash and do dishes and laundry by hand outside.
- Kitchen and bathroom are hopefully being built soon but ... tick tock - time flies.
We have 19Mb internet (yes - well fast enough for video calls to your relatives)

We prefer you bring and prepare your own food although we only have one fridge so if there are many of you some arrangements would have to be made.
- At some times we have a lot of work and this is when we would provide all food.

Daily chores would be basic housekeeping of the food preparation and living area, just to keep things under control. Occasional jobs about the farm may arise but 2hrs work for an over night stay is... more inside
