We are a family owned and operated farm that produces pasture-raised chickens in the beautiful Barossa Valley.
We provide our customers with great-tasting chickens grown sustainably on pasture in mobile enclosures that are moved daily. During the day (weather permitting) our chickens are allowed to free roam. We make all of our mobile chicken enclosures from recycled and reused materials as much as possible. We supply our chickens to restaurants and also sell them direct to the public at the Barossa Farmers Market every week.
We are looking for willing and fit workers to help with caring for our chickens. This would involve feeding/watering them and moving the mobile homes every day as well as some general farm work.
We have a number of building projects planned, so someone with building skills (or willing to learn) would be very welcome. Our twin daughters are aged three and we would love someone to help with child minding occasionally.

We have a lovely bushland property along Pelican Lagoon on Kangaroo Island. We are owner/builders and have been making progress on the project since 2009. We built an off grid stone house which runs off of solar and rainwater. We are getting ready to add on to our tiny little house as we recently had a baby girl.

We are happy to host people who are interested in learning about off grid life, stone work and bush in general. There is a small caravan available for stay and possibly an off site cabin (depending on time of year and availability). Tasks include use of chainsaw and bush tidy-up work, collecting stone, mixing concrete, building retaining walls, playing with dog and kiddo.

Happy to discuss the situation more via email. There will be times of the year that are better suited than others due to weather and tasks. In exchange for 4-5 hours of work a day you get good food and accommodation. We live very close to many beautiful beaches and our property is full of walking t... more inside

You can envisage living on a small operating farm running mainly cattle with a few other animals, including dogs, horses, geese, ducks etc. A quiet relaxing life style.
Work is mostly maintenance on a house and outer buildings, some fencing, installing water systems, landscaping, gardening, some shed building, burning surplus wood around trees in the burning season, cutting fire wood, painting and general repairs. The property is near to a town with all conveniences. You have your own accommodation with bedding cutlery provided; which consists of 1 bedroom, lounge with open fireplace, bathroom and kitchenette, not far from the main house. Length of stay is negotiable & may be extended provided we all get along; but we expect the place left tidy when you leave please. Re your work skills - short stays are alright if you can help, cook a meal, pull some weeds, cut some firewood, light the fire and maybe use a paint brush. Plus a productive vegetable garden & orchard from which... more inside
