We live in a small house on large suburban block with veggie garden, orchard, chooks, geese, bees, etc.

Need help with general house maintenance, small building projects, gardening, etc. I'm also very involved with the local organic food cooperative & cafe and a community garden so helpers can also get involved with some of the activities there, if interested.

Helpers can stay in their own tent or an unfinished shed (one of the handyperson jobs needing helpers) onsite with shared vegetarian meals. Helpers must be independent and able to self-manage. I'd ideally like people who will stay for about a week, with possibility of longer based on how the first week goes :-)

We live 5 minutes walk away from Oyster Cove which lies within the D'Entrecasteaux Channel. We have a small market garden with a variety of vegetables that we sell locally, and to restaurants in Hobart. We also have a food truck that we use to cater for private functions and pop-up dinners around Hobart where we cook delicious meals using our produce.

There are 3 of us (including our 17yo son) living in a strawbale house that we built ourselves. Food is a big focus in our lives - we eat well from our produce (see our website and Instagram @fatcarrotfarm for more details). When we are not gardening, cooking or eating we love to swim in Oyster Cove, mountain bike (in the nearby reserve), bushwalk and travel

The helpers we like the best are enthusiastic, hardworkers who have a genuine interest in food - how it's produced and prepared. You become part of our family when you stay with us - we work, eat and hang out together.

We have a small bedroom and a cute, cabin for accom... more inside

Hi, we are Fred and Georgie, we live in the beautiful Huon valley, 6km outside the town of cygnet, about 1\2 an hour from Hobart in an old apple shed/ barn with a composting toilet and hot water from a wood burning stove. We have 4 children, a cat, sheep, dairy cow and chickens. We grow organic vegies and fruit trees. Private accommodation is provided in our beautiful yurt hand made painted and carved in Mongolia.
Shower and toilet and meals in our home. Southern Tasmania has beautiful beaches, spectacular wilderness and wonderful people to meet. Work on our property would include gardening mostly vegetable growing for use in our kitchen, collection of firewood, fencing, building etc. We are a happy friendly family and enjoy meeting people and sharing this beautiful place. We are flexible and happy to negotiate about work and hours. Any help greatly appreciated.

We have a small chemical free farm raising fruit, vegetables, grapes, berries, chickens, ducks and miniature pigs.
Work is varied depending upon the season- this includes weeding, planting, garden maintenance, looking after the animals and helping around the house, cleaning and occasional cooking.

Helpers work about 4 hours per day for free accomodation, all meals and a drink after work.

Helpers have seperate accomodation behind the main house with shared bathroom facilities.
We have a hydrotherapy spa to relax in after work and enjoy the millions of stars in the sky at night.

Friday nights we make Pizzas, often in our own wood fired cob oven.

We smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol- often at the same time :) so if this offends you we are probably not the right venue for your stay.

We eat a mixed diet and have a small kitchen area so sadly are unable to help with strict vegitarian or vegan helpers.

We take our helpers out 1 day per week to show them the beautiful sight... more inside

Our property is on the edge of the village of Cygnet. It is a walk of about ten minutes into the centre from our property. There are two buses daily that go into Hobart from Cygnet. Cygnet is a lovely village with some interesting shops including a number of cafés, a great bakery and two pubs. It is quite an arty little place with a great little market every other Sunday. Laurie works in Hobart during the week as a computer professional and is a keen cyclist. I am retired from teaching and I now do a little bit of work as a civil celebrant. I also do some voluntary work with a a circular economy group, meals on wheels and help organise the local folk festival. I also row, garden and sing. We have recently done extensive renovations to the house and it is now very comfortable. The Helpx accommodation consists of a double bedroom with an ensuite. Our little farm is very beautiful but needs lots of work in the garden particularly and around the property generally. We are learning ... more inside

We have 5 acres 23 Dorper sheep and about 20 beautiful chooks 1 very old cocker spaniel and a 2 year old cocker spaniel who thinks she is still about 12 weeks old! And an aging cat that runs her own race, rarely going outside other than to use the loo. Our home overlooks the Huon River. On a clear day we can see all the way to South Bruny Island.
I am looking for someone to assist with the sheep and chooks for about 10 -20 days later this month. The sheep are very self sufficient and just need a bale of hay from time to time. All the chooks need is someone to wander down to their house in the morning feed them and let them out and collect their yummy eggs. At dusk they just need to have their shed closed so they ear kept safe from Quolls (native cats)
We are about 4klms from the centre of Franklin which is a small village about 44klms South of Hobart. There is a good bus route to Hobart.

We are a small property located about 30 minutes from Hobart on the beautiful D'Entrecasteaux Channel.
We have some chickens, cattle and a very loving, happy dog called Gus.
Along with our 11 year old son Benny, we try to grow most of our own food and maintain our extensive garden and grounds.
We have a large home and visitors have exclusive use of the bottom of the house which has 2 large bedrooms with queen size beds, own bathroom and laundry facilities. It is very modern, comfortable and warm.
We need help getting the garden in order and general tidy up around the property. Benny is very active and loves playing so you need to enjoy being around children.
In exchange for 4-5 hours work a day, we will provide board, breakfast and dinner provisions. Hours are flexible and you may prefer to work longer days and take time off to explore this beautiful part of the world.
Ari is a keen fisherman so if the weather is good and you like fishing he would be happy to take you.

We farm free range pigs, cattle, poultry and have a market garden. One of us is an ex-chef the other a climate change scientist with CSIRO. You will never have a bad meal and we love to cook a range of different ethnic dishes. Most of what we eat is grown/reared on the farm. We make our own charcuterie and salamis. We are trying to live as sustainably as possible and discourage the use of chemicals including excessive use of shampoos, detergents and cosmetics. One room is 2 single beds and we have a caravan attached to the house with a double bed. All meals are taken together. We match the work with people's skill levels, language skills and interests where possible. We expect 5 hours work per day (with 1 day off)for every 7 days accommodated. Flexible hours can be discussed. This may be a good option while you wait for other picking work to start in the area. In return we offer good food, nice accommodation, excursions, free internet, home brew, espresso coffee, fishing etc and hel... more inside
