Thanks to HelpX and Airbnb I have had the pleasure to host folk from England, France, Germany, Australia, Poland, Italy, America, India and China and more in my home surrounded by farmland & National Park forests, with valley and Southern Ocean views above the famous Great Ocean Road 18 kms from Apollo Bay on all weather road, where Koalas, Kangaroos, Wallabies, Kookaburras and Echidnas abound. Birdlife is abundant. We have Waterfalls and bushwalks, beaches for surf and swimming, Art/Craft galleries and there is Music almost every weekend of the year. Bushwalking and cycling are very popular in the district.
A VLine bus runs between Geelong and Apollo Bay (about 3 hours) and transport can be arranged from Apollo Bay or Skenes Creek at a small fee.
I love to meet new people, learn about their culture and share mine and host them in my home in exchange for some help to set up my gardens and animal yards and housing, as well as some help with the housework and improvements and with ... more inside

This is a beautiful property - and requires some ongoing general property maintenance.
Jobs including gardening - weeding, mowing, trimming, mulching and some painting. The choock shed needs a bit of attention, nothing to major, just general upkeep really.
I'd be happy to have you here, no smoking, drugs or alcohol.
The property backs onto the beautiful Tarago River and has a variety of native bird life around.
For those wondering - there is plenty of space to park your RV and hook up to water and power!
Longwarry North is in West Gippsland, its about 1hr 15 minutes from Melbourne CBD, about 1 hour from Philip Island & Wilsons Prom, at the foothills of the Strezlecki ranges and Mt Baw Baw. Some very beautiful country to explore around Gippsland. Your own vehicle is a must.

Myself and my neighbor have decided to set up her beautiful property that her late husband and herself built. Mainly a nubian and minituare goat farm we also have cows chooks sheep and horses on the property.
Need to bring the magnificent house and property back to life so that families may come and enjoy the peace and serenity.
House needs to be decluttered. Yards need to be mowed and tidying up of garden. Fences need to be repaired and built.
This project of setting up the farm has only just started so looking at 2 people that are happy to work 25 hrs a week per person and the rest of the week is your own free time.
You would have your own room with ensuite.
Would suit 2 couples
Looking at maybe 1 week and if a good relationship is established can be longer helping me and my neighbor to establish and finish what her and her late husband had dreams of doing.

Very comfortable farm. I live in a roomy modern farmhouse.1 hour to melbourne[ by car or train ], separate warm bedroom, sep bathroom.
I work hard at conservation and being SUSTAINABLE.... we have our own independent water supply, and produce our own electricity ( solar panels- 4.5kw - and solar water ; but we are GRID CONNECTED to power also.)
In fact , I am quietly passionate about being sustainable ,and I try to leave a ' small footprint'.
Central heating plus some wood fires , wood cooking.
Helping may involve...
Wood collecting , log-splitting (mechanical,) painting,
pruning, cooking, GARDENING , general farm-work .Open to negotiation . Happy to help out with the English language.... but you must have good basic English . I think communication is critically important.
Please do not apply if you cannot speak intermediate/basic English.
I am very keen to get a major house clean done!

I am very interested in self-sufficiency and energy conservation- but live a comf... more inside

Ri and Neil live in lovely Bacchus Marsh (a town 40 min from Melbourne, Geelong and Ballarat). Ri is a ceramic artist and works in her home-based studio. Neil works at Melbourne University in research computing.

Over the past couple of years we have had a fabulous experience hosting French and Spanish couples who have helped us with all sorts of house things (e.g, painting, garden work, kiln fabrication), as well as being wonderful company.

We continue with our seemingly never-ending program of home improvements. So we are looking for help in gardening (making and bordering garden beds - you have to like digging - and some pruning), some gravel path consolidation, plus some house cleaning (windows mainly).

We are looking, starting the week of Nov 6 2017 for engaging and interested visitors who are willing to have a go. We prefer couples aged 25 and over who have some basic handy-person skills and some outdoors/gardening experience.

You must be able to speak Engli... more inside

Hi there,

Looking for a house sitter from 14th-21st January 2018.
Based in Maiden Gully, near Bendigo. We have two 3 year old labradores who would like some love whilst we are gone. We'd prefer someone who is looking for a little down time, have the dogs inside when they are home(they sleep lazily when inside), to feed them morning and night and let them inside to the laundry to sleep at night and out in the morning.

The house is 4 bedrooms, unlimited internet, aircon, BBQ area on 1.5 acres. No work required apart from loving our dogs and keeping the house secure.

Kind regards, Sam

Our home is in Mia Mia and we have been here since end January 2017 and the house and garden needs a lot of work inside and outside and so we are in need of some helpers. We are looking for helpers to stay with us for a one or two weeks depending.

We are an easy going family. Dave is a plumber working full time and Steph is a teacher. We have our son Alex who is 23 and daughter Zoe who is 13 living with us. We have cats, dogs, bird, chickens, ducks, sheep and an alpaca. We live on just over two acres of land and have lots to do in the garden and inside and outside our house.

We are looking for mature, honest, clean, positive and friendly helpers who are willing to do the jobs we require.

We are a sociable and friendly family who love to talk and laugh so we are looking for helpers who will make some effort with communicating, joining in and being part of our family. We will treat you as our family. This is very important to us.

Jobs will vary as the need arises but... more inside

Summer time in Melbourne :) A lot is happening on the farm!

I am a young farmer called Paul in my 30s that is currently operating a market garden on 16 acres in the Keilor valley, just 22km from the Melbourne CBD! I grow seasonal vegetables organically, and I supply them to various restaurants and retailers in Melbourne, as well as holding stalls at farmers' markets on the weekend. I've been farming here for almost 3 years now, and am implementing and experimenting with various methods of farming.

The beautiful Maribyrnong River runs along the border of the property, and there are many cockatoos here too! There are a few farmhands that work on various days throughout the week, so there is always someone to learn from and have a cuppa with. We rise early in the morning and eat a hearty farm lunch together. As you can imagine, there is a plethora of beautiful organically grown vegetables to eat for our meals! People have enjoyed cooking with really fresh produce and notice real ... more inside
