We are hobby farmers (in our fifties) on a timbered block of land with a creek running through. We have a lot of animals: a few cattle, horses, pigs, sheep, ducks, chickens, dogs and cats. We also have a garden with fruit trees and native shrubs. It is a quiet place with lots of native birds, but we are only 5 minutes off the Bruce Highway and only 15 minutes from Rockhampton.

The house is new, clean and comfortable, and the surroundings pleasant.

There is always a variety of jobs here: feeding animals, watering the fruit trees, maybe stacking timber/branches out in the paddock.

We are easy to find if you come by car, and we can pick you up from Rockhampton if you come by bus, train or plane.

It may be a couple of days before we can respond to an email, but we can respond earlier to text messages.

We have a 40 acre property located in the Whyanbeel Valley and adjoining the Daintree National Park and we are 25 minutes from Port Douglas. We have mixed crops, hay, cut flowers, rare plants, ducks, geese, peacocks and chooks. I am really interested in organic growing, permaculture, sustainable farming and agroforestry and apply these principals to the farm. We also grow a lot of our own fruits and veg. Our place is very pretty, lots of gardens, waterfalls, rainforest and freshwater swimming spots. Wildlife is abundant. I expect 4 hours a day and you get all meals, private air conditioned accomodation and even beer. No mobile phone service but we have wifi.

I also am an artist and have a gallery that I sell my ceramics and glass through. If you are artistic then I could probably use your help in my production work

Good English only please

I accept short term travellers (backpackers welcome) at all times so please send me a message.

I am looking for a single person or a couple, to stay at a self sufficient permaculture farm with plenty of opportunity to learn about fermenting food and cheese making. I'm a permaculture teacher and this farm is a great opportunity for people to learn about home food production. Work to be done is mostly tidying up the vegie garden and in the food forest garden for spring planting the tropical veg as well as propagating from new planting material. Meals are mostly from the farm including our own meat. The aim of this permaculture farm is to be as environmentally friendly as possible, there is a compost toilet and re-using the grey water in the gardens. Tank water only and a share bathroom downstairs.

Hi,
I've had many helpXers stay with me over the last couple of years, and have met some amazing people.

I live in a lovely house in a small, quiet town with lots of birds and trees around.

I sometimes offer my spare room, in exchange for about 3 hours of light work each day (you would provide and prepare your own meals...you don't need to do any cooking for anyone else except yourself).

The work is very light and would include weeding, gardening, house cleaning, etc

The house is within very short walking distance (2 minutes!) to shops, cafes, a pub etc

You will have unlimited cuddles from a very affectionate and fluffy cat! :)

I'm looking forward to hearing from you..

As public transport does not service our area we prefer travelers who have their own transport. 30 acre tropical & exotic fruit hobby farm, vegetable & ornamental gardens, poultry, bees and a pig. 700 km south of Cairns & 1000 km north of Brisbane. We provide wholesome food and clean separate self contained accommodation for 1 or 2 persons. In exchange, work 5 hours per day which may include animal care, removing weeds, tree pruning, mulching, honey processing, preserving produce, general farm/household chores & projects. Building skills welcome. Work hours can be scheduled for the cooler parts of the day, i.e. early mornings and late afternoons in the hot weather. We are 10 minutes drive from a beach village and one hour drive from Airlie Beach, the Whitsunday islands departure port.
Pics include, helpers on cultivator and tractor, dressed for collecting honey, processing honey & hosts Kaye & Nick.
