We have met some fabulous HelpXers this year and most have stayed at least two weeks and some much longer. We provide excellent accommodation in our beautiful home. If you have no previous country or farm experience this is the perfect place to start so book in early and come and enjoy the experience. Kangaroo Valley is one of the greenest in Australia and one of only seven true valleys in the world. Most travellers head North but this is a very special part of NSW and deserves a visit, you will not be disappointed.
The name of our property is "Lastover" and it was built a two years ago so we are still developing the gardens and paddocks. It is now spring so there is much to be done with a focus on weed control, tree planting and the vegetable garden. We are expecting a foal to be born any time now so that is always fun. Our property is set on 100 hundred acres in the stunning Kangaroo Valley and is primarily a grazing property, we have a small breeding herd with calves due next ... more inside

We live in the amazing little town of Mullumbimby. Our house is about a 10 minute walk to town, 10 minute drive to the nearest beach and 20 minutes to Byron Bay. 1 hour to the Gold Coast and just under 2 hours to Brisbane. We live in town but the house is very private and quiet.
We require some help with looking after our three children aged 7,6 and 3. We will also need help sometimes cooking meals, tidying up and the occasional load of washing. Some help in the garden would be a bonus too but not essential - just mowing, weeding etc.
Looking after the children will involve mainly being with them for about three hours after school on weekdays. We are both studying full time - Vicki (mother) is studying to be a midwife and Chris (father) is studying Law.
We speak English but Vicki also speaks Spanish.
We are a hardworking family but also have lots of fun - swimming, going to the beach, going on our little boat to the river, paragliding, dancing etc

We will be planting 200 trees in March 2011 (should take 2-3 days). We would love the help. We have planted over 1,200 trees during the last 3 years.
We live on 200 acres of green undulating land, 650 metres above sea level, nestled east of the Great Dividing Range. 41 head of beef cattle (including calves), easy to manage. One hour drive to shops but close to Ellenborough Falls and surrounded by State Forest and National Parks. We are considered remote for the east coast. You would be really getting away from it all if you come our way.
Mainly odd jobs like fencing, tree planting (March) and general farm work. The list never ends, but there is always time to sit back and enjoy. Diversity of bird life, wallabies and we have platypus in the creek.
We have 2 lovely dogs, spacious home and would love to have you join us on our adventures of looking after a property.
Due to our location you will need to have your own transport.
