Love some help with fencing, shepherding and gardening for those who love outdoors and sewing, painting, creating lovely holiday cottages, for those with a creative bent...loads of scope! We are looking for a couple to do gardening and house maintenance for between 2 and 4 weeks. Own transport would be useful

There are a multitude of tasks waiting to be done, gardening, housework, cooking and helping with the children. Holding a UK driving license would be ideal. General help with feeding and cleaning animals is also part of the daily routine. There might also be babysitting from time to time.

We are in a rural area so own transport would be preferable, however we are close to villages so walking or cycling are good options and we can provide bikes for your use. We have three children, two ducks, Hebridean sheep, loads of chickens, two dogs and a cat. We are looking for someone who is easygoing, helpful and cheery, and most importantly works on their own initiative.

A good level of English is essential.

We will provide accommodation and three meals a day in exchange for six hours - five days (we're flexible ) per week. We have a little cabin with a l... more inside

This is a smallholding in Moray, NE Scotland. We are about 2 miles from the coast (Roseisle beach) and 5 miles from Findhorn. There is a spiritual/eco community, the Findhorn Foundation, beside Findhorn that focuses on sustainable living and is open to visitors. You can walk or cycle from Bruntlands along the beach to cafes etc at Burghead and Findhorn. Roseisle beach and forest is a very pretty area of public land. You can walk or cycle 1.5 miles to Alves to catch buses to local towns of Forres and Elgin. Bicycles are available to borrow.

We are looking for some people to help plant a small area of native woodland on farmland. The trees are mainly oak, cherry, birch, hazel. We anticipate 4 hours work per day in exchange for accomodation and food. We have various spaces for accomodation, 1 room in the farmhouse and a static caravan with gas heater, cooking and hot water. it has its own toilet and shower.

It is an amazing, stunning part of the world that we would love to share in return for some help.

We run our own hill farm beside the sea, 6 and a half miles south of Oban. We have about 500 sheep, blackface and cheviots and crosses . We also run a bed and breakfast business.
We have both travelled quite a bit and we can provide a homely and welcoming atmosphere for someone to be part of the family and help on the farm ( marking lambs, shearing ) or with the B&B. We have 3 children who are 29, 27 and 22 who are all away from home these days.
We have a spare bedroom for the helpx people and bathroom.
Good sense of humour a good thing.
We are rural but only 15 minutes drive from Oban, our local town, limited bus service.
Ideally this would suit a couple who enjoy farming life and have some experience of animals, or are willing to learn. 5 hours work a day in exchange for board and keep and two days off per week.. Preferably minimum of 2/3 weeks and up to a month. Manual driving license useful, and if you are over 25 we can possibly put you on our car insurance policy..

My partner Tom and I live with our baby daughter Ada and our two dogs in the Scottish Borders about 40 minutes south of Edinburgh. Tom works in Edinburgh so commutes regularly.

I am currently on maternity leave and we are hoping to complete some house renovations over the summer, as well as sorting out our garden!

Accommodation will be in our newly converted loft space (or outside in the summer house if you prefer). In exchange we would like help with various tasks around the property such as painting and decorating, gardening and fitting new doors and walls in our garage.

Must like dogs and children - we have two Labrador Retrievers who would love some extra walks and play time with a new face. Help with household chores and cooking while Tom is at work would also be much appreciated, but happy to go with whatever your strengths and preferences are, we can be flexible.

The nearest town is the traditional market town of Biggar (5 mins by car) which provides all the esse... more inside
