We have room from the 21 to the 27th of octobre.

We are situated in the heart of the North Vosges, between Wissembourg and Bitche, a few kilometres from Niederbronn-les-Bains, in the small village of Obersteinbach. In our vicinity there are fortified castle ruins, rock-climbing sites; walking trails; mountainbike circuits and so on. Our house is surrounded by all of this.

Maïlis and I (and our two cats, Mademoiselle and Gentleman) have always lived in this region, and after travelling and helpexchanging a great deal, we acquired a house on two hectares with a spring, a stream, a large pond and some woodlands.

Everything we plan is designed to renew Nature’s dominance here. We wish to restructure the area to enable amphibians, insects, birds, small mammals and all living creatures to recolonise the area. We’ve just planted 15 fruit trees. We are starting a vegetable garden. We need to restore the pond edges and wetlands. Consequently, there is a lot to do! Any help would be ... more inside

We are looking for experienced bar staff for several weddings throughout the Summer. We are trying to become self sufficient with heating from wood from our forest instead of using oil. We need help getting logs that have already been cut from our forest into our log barn.
We also need some help painting our gates and shutters.

We can offer very comfortable accommodation as we have just finished renovating the manoir. We love to cook wholesome food and enjoy local wines. We are close to many famous chateaux of the Loire and many reputed vignerons.
We are 15 minutes away from the famous Loire Valley chateau of Valencay.

Update: (Nov 2016) This winter we are building a 12 metre diameter yurt suitable for weddings, parties etc in a Central Asian style with steam bent tono and bent wood roof poles. There will also be lots of raised bed permaculture style gardening and landscaping, tree planting, building a puddled pond and over flow rice paddy. Building a cob bread oven, renovating an old pigeon tower and flooring a cart shed to make it suitable for group yoga,it will be a really busy crazy time but should be fun as well. Please see our website and Facebook page for more information on what we are about and get in contact if you are interested.

We have 1930's or so very french fourgon (a bit like a Citroen H van, see facebook photo's),we aim to transform it into quirky accommodation, we will need help and expertise to get it water-tight and make a start on the interior so any classic car enthusiasts or car body repair experts or welders please come forward because we are good with wood but not so ... more inside

I would like to find people to help me out in three areas. 1. Rebuilding the wooden sluice gates and perhaps even a mill wheel. 2. Rebuilding a 72 square metre area wooden shed which is sloping and needs setting straight. 3. Creating an organic garden and cooking (perhaps that is 4?). Males or females with or without children, I have lots of space here for as many as ten people! The rebuilding work is heavy (heavy pieces of timber to be put in place) but the gardening light (is up to yourself) the soil here is absolutely beautiful, rich and loamy.
Really a very beautiful part of France/Europe and a lot to see on your days off: Saturday and Sunday. I prefer non-smokers, no heavy drinkers and no late risers. If you are able to help a lot then of course I can arrange my own schedule to fit your own plan but I prefer to be out of my bed by 9am so that the afternoons are free to enjoy, but wish to find people who are flexible and perhaps don't have an exact schedule - take it easy, but... more inside

lI am 88 yrs old still active enough to live in and maintain a restored water mill 8 km. from Castillon-la-Bataille; about a km down hill from the village of St Philippe d'Aiguilhe.
I was an art-history, archeology, and English teacher until my husband and I bought a small vineyard that we worked on with helpers, Woofers, etc., and always enjoyed them.
When my son and family took over the vineyard, we moved to the mill nearby with 5 hectares of woods and meadows.
Now, on my own, I need help in preparing the vege and flower gardens for winter in November and particularly January-March, bringing in wood for heating and keeping small trees, branches and brambles from invading the meadows. I often need general repairs around an old stone house. A driver's licence is essential so you can drive my car wherever needed.
You would have an independent "studio apt." with double bed, kitchen facilities and bathroom. I can provide meals if need be and for vegetarians though I'm not one... more inside

Hi we're a Franco-British couple, Lucy and Roland, with a part-time 10 year old son, Etienne, in a large, large barn - starting to build a house within it. We're currently looking for folk to help from April, as we lack heated space for the winter. 2017 is the "year of the house":

First jobs this spring has included building the missing wall and insulating the stone walls of the barn with cellulose, next step is isolating the south wall with "straw-and-earth" and then plumbing, electricity, staircase, inside walls... And that's just the beginning...

Lucy works part-time at the Ressourcerie de Foix where we give a second life to objects that would otherwise be thrown away. You'd be welcome to occasionally join the team of volunteers there if that appealed.

Lots to keep us busy. Come and join us with the project and the rest of life: garden chickens, conserves, fruit trees, helping friends on their projects...

We've WWOOFing experience (we met when Lucy was hitching t... more inside
