Bonjour!

Living in maritime Brittany, we are the French `guardians` of a 3 hectares (nearly 7 acres) piece of land on the edge of a forest, 6 kilometers from the sea and the gorgeous beaches of the north coast. Its name is `Jardin du Kalon` (Garden of Heart), next to a small village called Lanvellec.

Our land is a beautiful, celtic green place surrounded by woodland, including a meadow, big granit boulders, a small lake with a place to make night fires, a stream and a fairy swamp, a big mandala-shaped vegetable garden, hand-made chalets available as working studios, and plenty of nice and quiet spots for contemplation or artistic expression, or whatever joyful and ecological activities you would enjoy!

For the past 16 years, our on-going project has been to create a retreat/garden/centre for sustaining inner, spiritual resources and creativity, and the project is unfolding nicely, with the help and inspiration of so many excellent visitors over the years.

This summer a... more inside

We are Jan and Mary, a friendly Dutch couple, who are currently making their dream come true… we recently became the proud owners of our very own authentic 17th century farm in beautiful Dordogne, France. Our next step is to turn the old farm into a vacation rental. Actually the previous owners already did that, but we want to give the place our own personal touch.

The accommodation and property is a combination of both our names. Once we have received the keys to the property, mid February, there lies quite the work that needs to be done ahead of us. Especially when we aim at welcoming our first guests before the summer starts! And this is where we could use an extra pair of hands, in which we offer a very comfortable stay, an inspiring environment and - who knows - a new friendship in return.

To share our enthusiasm and hopefully to welcome you as our 'new friends, we want to inspire you with a brief description of the story behind our property, former farmhouse and what y... more inside

I'm English and live with my two sons (12 and 9). We're a bilingual household (English/French), so if you speak or would like to learn either of those languages we'll get on. We're also interested in learning Spanish, so if you speak Spanish we could do an exchange.

We mainly need help with the vegetable garden (growing: potatoes, tomatoes, courgettes, onions, leeks, beans, peas, etc.), cutting wood, strimming (to clear the land of brambles), building works (wood or stone and cement), cooking, cleaning, helping boys with homework, etc.

In exchange, you get a room, basic food, a beautiful place to stay, great hiking directly from the house, wifi internet access, a large collection of DVDs, British and French TV

Hello! We are a franco-argentinian family with 3 kids and a charming dog, who got into an amazing adventure of renovating an old (1880) MOULINAGE (a silk manufacture) for both, living in a first place and creating a special place to stay.

US:
We are a young couple: Paz & Antoine
3 lovely, funny and most of the time easy-going kids: Nil ((almost 8) , Léo (4y) and Tess (almost 3)
and our charming dog, Luna

We hold a small family building company. Antoine is a carpenter and I handle paperwork and kids from home.

OUR PLACE:
It is an amazing silk manufacture with around 1000m2 of building to renovate and 2he of garden, so...there are plenty of things you could give us a hand with.

OUR PROJECT
We would love, before the summer, to "conquer" the exteriors so there is a lot of weeding, wooding and gardening and cleaning to be done (the usage of some machines is required!)
We also need help to finish an appartment.(so you might expect to have some hard work to do but we'l... more inside

House Sitting in Normandy

We are looking for help from mid August.

We are a bilingual French/English family with 4 kids (12, 11,11, 8). Since 2010 we have had over 50 helpers, with quite a few staying for over a year (and some over 2) which has been fabulous.

This stay would really suit a couple or 2 friends, so that you have company as we are out all day and away pretty regularly. Or someone happy with their own company, and good at visiting by themselves. We do our best to insure that if you need a car then there is one available.

The principal reason we are currently looking for helpers is for when we will be away quite a lot and need someone to help look after the animals (sheep, horses, dogs, cats, duck and chickens and occasionally need help with our holiday rental - mostly doing the meet and greets, and some gardening etc.

We are in a great location for visiting Normandy - Mont St Michel , Bayeux tapestry and the D-Day beaches in the other and close to Caen,... more inside
