We are looking for mature-minded couples or friends, to help us build 2 wooden shelters for our horse and donkey, putting up additional fencing, clearing areas of the land, preparing hardcore bases for animal feeding and building a small hay barn, using our own trees. There are also a few diy jobs to help with at the house which we hope to finally complete; building a small wall and distributing gravel/stones.

We also aim to set up a system to save rainwater, using the roofs of the shelters.

We would like people who can work on their own initiative and have experience with tools and ideally working with wood and who like animals - we have 2 dogs, a horse and a donkey.

We are in a beautiful town on the banks of a river , in the foothills of the Pyrenees. The climate is mediterranean and it is in the sunniest region in France, with 300 days of sunshine per year! There are restaurants, cafes and bars in the town, you can also white water raft, kayak, hike, motorbike, horse ri... more inside

I live in a nice little house with a big garden, and I would really appreciate enthusiastic and independant people (a couple or 2 helpers travelling together) who enjoy helping with a variety of odd jobs, such as painting, building...
For about 4h help per day (or 25h per week, I am flexible if you want to take some days off), and normal participation in cooking-washing dishes, I can offer you food and accommodation, and of course my good company ! You will have your own private room (a little chalet separate from the house most of the time, or the gypsie caravan), shared bathroom, Internet wifi access, and bikes if you like.

My home is really well situated (typical Mediterranean bush all around) and only few minutes from Sommieres (a nice antic and medieval town), close to the river, not far from lakes, beaches and Cevennes Regional Park, and 30 min by car to Montpellier or Nîmes. There is also a train station 15 minutes from my house. There is plenty to do around!

I am a... more inside

having been let down at the last minute we are still needing a body to help us with renovations to this lovely property. Starting 2nd June for about 10 days.

we are a friendly couple running a smallholding where we are still in the process of renovating old barns to residential accommodation.

We are looking for one to three people who can help put up frame and plasterboard, rendering/pointing stone walls, weeding and digging in the garden.

We have a flourishing, very attractive gite where we would accommodate HelpX helpers. This house is self contained and very comfortable and well equipped and with it's own garden. We live next door in converted barns and need help in finishing some aspects of this. The grounds are beautiful and helpers would have use of the large swimming pool if it is up and running.

Our location is set in a tranquil sunlit valley, a rural location and there is much to see and do in the area. we have two dogs, a cat and chickens at the mom... more inside

We prefer to speak French as not all of the family speak English. We're very happy to help those who enjoy practising their French conversation, however rudimentary. Written communication is fine in English if it's easier.

We're a small family living on 2.5 hectares of meadow and woodland in the hills around the beautiful mountain of Bugarach.

We have quite a low impact way of life with compost/dry toilets, 12v renewable power and a vegetable garden that provides most of our food. The mains water supply is very restricted but we do have a beautiful roll-top firebath in the beginnings of a bathroom (another project) that overlooks the mountains. We have two pigs (not for eating) and any number of chickens, ducks and cats.

We live quite close to/amongst nature & spend nearly all of the summer outside. We have a couple of cabins for the family & there is a cabin (small), caravan (large) & tents for friends & HelpXers. We also have a levelled clearing that has been used for Yur... more inside

Martin and I live in a lovely villa with a swimming pool and garden with stunning views of the Pyrenees, and we are looking for someone (1 or 2) who can help us a little around the house and garden (we are not fanatically clean and tidy), with the 2 children (15, 17) who are at school and self sufficient, and chatting to Grandma (91) in English! Also need help with restoring a barn and a house, experience of renovating old property would be good!
We are all English but speak French too.
The house is 2km from the market town of Prades, and 45 minutes from Perpignan airport, walking distance to the train station and bus stop.

Our home is in a small village 50 minutes from Carcassonne and close to the Pyrenees and Spanish border. It is a beautiful area, steeped in mystery and intrigue.
We are an English family of four, Persephone is 10 and Django 5.We are converting a large barn, using ecological materials, into a home. This year in our garden we hope to be building walled terraces for the potagers which we manage organically/biodynamically and clearing and nurturing our land for grazing. Any chainsaw or strimming experience would be great. We need general help with the building and landwork. We have two young horses in need of lots of schooling! We also home educate using the Waldorf curriculum. as I, Jackie, am a Steiner teacher, so anyone with any relevant teaching experience would be welcome too.

Accommodation is in a very comfortable caravan for one or two next to the stream in our garden. We have wi-fi and free international calls to landlines. There is a swimming lake nearby and lots of Cath... more inside
