I have just returned to my family farm and would love some volunteers to come and help on the farm. We have 50 acres of grassland with 2 jersey house cows. A small herd of shorthorn beef cows and wiltshire horn sheep. We have a couple of glouceser old spot pigs, some chickens and a veg patch. The farm is highly diversified with craft/artists workshops, a campsite, a cafe, and a river swimming club. We have a small school on site and we do lots of farm education with school trips and also a regular farm school.
There is also 150 acres of conventional arable land that I am managing under countryside stewardship with an aim to encourage wild pollinators, bats and birds.
Volunteers would be expected to work 25 hours a week and stay at least 2 months. Jobs can vary and can include gardening, working in the tearoom, collecting subs at the river swimming club, looking after the campsite, and working with school groups. Depending on your experience you could also take on a project such as... more inside

Hello, we are based on the stunning North Cornwall coast on the edge of St.Agnes. We run a market garden as organically as possible and supply seasonal produce to the local village as well as gate sales.

We are looking for two people to help with day to day gardening jobs such as planting, weeding, pruning and picking. There are also lots of maintenance jobs like strimming, cutting grass, moving wood etc...

Accommodation is in a caravan situated in a lovely spot overlooking the lake. In return for working 8.30am - 1pm 5 days a week, we will feed you two meals a day and provide you with breakfast for you to make for yourself in the caravan. We all eat lunch and an evening meal together. On the weekend we supply you with food to cook yourself in the caravan. Food is vegetarian with some occasional seasonal fish. We also take it in turns to wash up after the evening meal. Sorry but alcohol is not provided, we cannot afford to keep you supplied with beer! WiFi is available.

“Babbinswood Farm exists to provide our family with a sustainable foundation, to ensure that the land and its special energy is handed down to future generations in a thriving state, whilst being a beacon of inspiration to others”
The reason we embarked on taking volunteers from Wwoof or HelpX is to enable people to come and learn the importance of regenerative organic food production and we try and do this whilst having a low impact lifestyle. This is important for a sustainable way forward for human beings to continue to inhabit this planet. We are evolving and exploring ways to achieve this.

At Babbinswood we live quite comfortably* and eat well and in return we expect our volunteers to be keen to join in with the work and to be enthusiastic members of the team, as well as eager to learn more by joining us some evenings watching DVDs to learn more abo... more inside
