I have a number of projects on the go at the same time. So the place can look disorganised. I need help completing some are quite simple tasks which have a start and finish...like painting the sleep out, staining new decking and re-staining the existing deck.

Other and more complex tasks include constructing an outdoor bathroom. Water tanks and irrigation for the gardens. Light jobs like pruning the olive trees and general garden maintenance.

So the exchanged would be task orientated, 'ie' getting the painting gear out and staining is best done in one go, so it might take a full day. So the following day is a rest and recreation day.

Ideally, five-day stay, be it a single/couple of two people who have a bit of life experience, who aren't afraid to ask questions and can work independently.

ACCOMidation is a separate sleep out in the garden.

TRANsport: Two zone bus ride to CBD. I live in Beachhaven, (see map). Bus stops are 100 meters away. For the more adven... more inside

Hi Helpxers!

(Couples only please - approx 23 March for 1 week :)

We're Mark and Jasmine, a married couple in our early 30's. We own our small home on the North Shore of Auckland, where we live with our cat Freddie. We did HelpX for 3 months in France a few years ago and loved it; Jasmine speaks intermediate level French (donc un accueil spécial pour les français!).

We've loved having our helpx-ers so far! Now we're moving into the next phase of our gardening work and need some more help!

- staining the new decks and fences we've built
- clearing/weeding the native forest and moving mulch onto it (to stop weeds)
- digging up the last of the bamboo plants
-finishing off the landsaping

Our property borders native bush so if you like learning about plants we can teach you! This is medium difficulty work including digging out pest plants on a slope, so we need at least one guy....!

Ideally we're looking for a couple to stay for 7 days. We'd ask you to do 22 hou... more inside

Wow I have just had 2 very very bad Helpx experiences .
The first one caused me $900 damage- broke my $500 steam iron by burning right though the plastic onto the tank... and gauging a $300 fry pan I had asked her to be very careful with. So disrespectful.

the other girl was left in charge of my children and babysitting to her meant she sat at the table with her ear plugs in and watched her computer..... no idea what my kids were up to. She did not feed them... they fended for themselves getting ice cream, brandy snaps, rice paper, crackers.
Shocking!

However if you are responsible and a hard worker we'd like to hear from you.

We are looking for singles or couples to stay for a longer period of time if possible. Unfortunately we do not offer meals with our arrangement. We do have a garden full of silver beet, tomatoes and herbs for you to help yourself too. We hope to receive 20 hours per week per person, with flexibility as to when those hours are done. (Will program week ahead so we all know what's going on). Mow the lawns, a bit of building work, odd jobs around the house. If you have barista skills (can make coffee) to help in the coffee hut, building skills or are good with children (we have a two year old Leo) we would be interested in hearing from you. We have a double room that can be used either two singles shared or a couple.

We are a low key community site, upstairs private residential and downstairs front two rooms open to the community. We need help maintaining, restoring and serving customers in the coffee hut.

Kia Ora visitors to New Zealand! We are a family of four living in a quiet rural area close to Albany in the North Shore of Auckland. We have sheep, chickens, two dogs, beehives and an orchard.

Our current projects include cleaning the outside and inside of house (wiping walls cleaning windows), splitting firewood and moving mulch.

We are 10 km drive from buses, shops, supermarkets, restaurants, movies, medical facilities, banks etc at Albany. You will need your own car, as there is no bus available from the house.

WiFi available for your laptop.

Fishing, and great walks are available locally, plus everything that Albany, a small city has to offer. This is a good base for exploring Auckland and Northland.

We are most suitable for mature, independent couples or friends with their own transport, or ideal for a motor home. You will also need to be comfortable around dogs and teenagers.

If you enjoy starting and finishing a project and take pride in your work, then ... more inside

Lifestyle block with a few horses, but mostly bush, in Bethells Valley, close to the beach. Very private, great neighbours, quiet, lots of birds as it is on the edge of the Waitakere Ranges. We have small areas of vegetable garden, orchards, an arena, swimming pool and do a lot of native tree propagation and planting. The house is 16 years old, spacious but only two bedrooms. We are a couple in our early sixties, non-smokers, who work full time, partly from home. It would be good to have some help with gardening, feeding horses etc.
