My husband Bernd (55) and I (51) run a small cattle farm near Göttingen.
When I first read about volunteering I was immediately interested. We used to have a house full of young people. Since two of our three daughters (28,27,19) have moved out I miss the hustle and bustle, the company and their helping hands.

I am looking for helpers from April onwards for planting and seeding vegetables and flowers for both, my self-service flower field and a vegetable field where I rent small allotments to other people (www…).
During summer there will be a lot of weeding but also harvesting and preserving fruits and vegetables.

Besides, there is always something to do like tidying up sheds, cleaning, some painting and so on.

In general, the work schedule depends on the weather, but no more than round about 20 hours/week.

The landscape here is very nice and there are paths for walking and cycling (a bike is provided). However, we live in a rural area and there are no shops an... more inside

Are you available in July for a few days? You are very welcome! We will also need some help later this year....

We are a family of four and live in a little, old school in a little old village :-). It's located in a nature protected area, with grasslands and forest. We are close to the Dutch towns Nijmegen & Arnhem and the German town Kleve.

We are currently renovating a part of our school into a holiday home & seminar house. We are almost finished but could use some help in the garden (2500 m2) and in the house. Think of jobs like: maintaining the garden, sanding and painting furniture, cleaning the building inside and outside (windows, doors, frames, etc.) and other similar jobs.

You are free to join us at diner time or make your own in our guest kitchen. You will sleep in the new holiday home.

We live in a hamlet of Kranenburg (Niel). In Kranenburg itself are some shops (5 km away). Nijmegen en Kleve are bigger tows (10-12 km away). Busses to Kranenburg go a few ti... more inside

Autumn has arrived and we need help in our garden - raking leaves, trimming hedges, getting everything prepared for the first snow fall.We could take people in from end of October / beginning of November.
We are a family with 3 kids, but only the youngest, Jonas, 20, is still living with us. We are a teaching couple and have been part of Helpx as helpers ourselves. We love international company. We live in a big house with a huge garden and there is always something to be done. Lauterbach is a lovely small town in the center of Germany (120 kms north of Frankfurt). Our area is called Vogelsberg and it is hilly with beautiful views and lots of things to do for the outdoor minded as well as for the culturally minded. We provide a bedroom in our house and unlimited (wifi) internet. We enjoy cooking and eating and expect in average 4 hours of work per day.

We run a smallholding in a little village in the north of Germany, roughly betweeen Bremen (one hour by car) and Hamburg (one and a half hours by car, but also accessable by train, the nearest train station is Geestenseth). Our farm consists of an old thatched house and several outbuildings, 11 sheep plus 5 lambs, 20 chickens, five roosters and two cats. We have a fairly big vegetable garden, an old bakehouse, a greenhouse for tomatoes, cucumber & peppers, an orchard with loads of apple trees and a few pastures for haymaking. Depending on the season there is a variety of jobs we need help with, like digging, weeding, hay making, harvesting and preserving, apple picking and juice production or repairing and maintaining the buildings and fences. In January and February making firewood and work on the hedges are the main jobs.
We live mainly of what we produce ourselves, and try to be as environmentally conscious as possible, for example by using renewable energy.

Its a private house near the city with some wild garden on which we want to start an experimental project of ecological gardening and sustainable living. A small pond and a composting toilet have to be built, some woodwork and repainting in the house have to be done and also gardening is on the list. Digging the roots of old trees and blackberries out of the ground is a bit harder work. It is also possible that we sometimes need help in cleaning up our houseboat for tourist-change.
We are not in a hurry, 5 hours work a day is necessary, 5 days a week. In return we offer you accommodation and catering at a nice place to be.

Flensborg is located next to the danish border at the beautiful Flensborg Fjord (baltic sea). The City is really beautiful, with an museum shipyard, old sailboats, dreamy backyards of old merchants however also modern with its University, Arts and Culture. You can visit Danmark, the Northsea/atlantic, Hamburg ist 1,5 hrs anway.

Hi there,

we're a young family of 4 (2 kids aged 3 years and 2 months) plus a puppy (aged 4 months) who live in a small town between Cologne, Bonn and Aachen.

We would love to host people from all over the world, not so much for the work aspect but more to get to know different cultures :)

We offer 3 meals a day including good German breakfast and usually 1 hot meal a day.

We want to show you our lifestyle and in exchange we're looking for someone who can either look a bit after the kids (I work from home) or help in our small veggi garden or just walk the dog (definitely not more than 4 hours a day)

We would love to hear from you :)

We host holiday guests all year round from all over Europe, summer is high season. The farm is embedded in a beautiful landscape with hills and forests. The nearest town, Ueberlingen, is about a 10 minutes ride on a bus. There is mobile reception on the farm. Our business is family-run.We are 2 adults and 2 daughters.(18 and 21 years old.)
We look for nice young people to join us with all our daily duties: f.e. grooming, feeding the horses, helping to fence the corrals, preparing breakfast for the guests or taking them out on trail rides. Riders can also improve their equestrian and language skills. Lake Constance lies very close and all kinds of sports are available. During summer there is lot's to do and to see in the area. Biodiversity-project for the conservation of endangered rose varieties at a Bioland aera of about 1 hectar between Hamburg (50 km) and Luebeck (25 km) in Northern Germany.

A growing number of roses (actually about 2000 plants of about 1500 varieties) is planted in different colour areas with perennials, fruit trees, annuals, herbs and other plants of fitting colours.

All plants are maintained organically. More and more different varieties of birds, butterflies, insects and other wild animals are living at and visiting the project also.

Project-costs need to be earned by entry. Everything must look somehow "proper" during the season therefor, which is hard to manage without helpers.

I´d like to welcome engaged gardeners who´d like to learn more about organically rose maintaining, combinations of plants and colours, spreading of rare varieties, rooting of rose cuttings and help for at least one week (longer terms are welcome)at all day-after-day-duties in exchange.
