We live in a wilderness retreat in the foothills of the Victorian Alps, by the Tambo River along the Great Alpine Road.

We offer accommodation in a comfortable large tent (with queen size bed and electric lighting) which is inside our shed, or in a vintage caravan, also inside the shed. The shed has a wood fire and is a short walk from the house. We share our meals together and make our guests feel at home in our house.

We provide great food and campfire cooking - a genuine Australian bush experience - in exchange for 4-5 hours work a day, helping with building, bush regeneration and landscaping.

At the moment we are completing a building project so need people who are willing to undertake physically demanding work.

Our daughter, her husband and young boy live in Metung - we occasionally spend some time there as well helping them out.

Tracey is an artist and sometimes needs help with art projects, see her website link above.

We are looking for people who want a ge... more inside

Taking applications for early December.

Have not hosted for some time but looking again now. As per reviews, most people that have joined us have thought they were treated fairly.

Comfortable accommodation provided in your own room in main house along with food in return for four hours work a day. Good workers rewarded with bicycle trips and further entertainment.

Work is fairly physical but I wouldn't say it is too terrible. That said, some fitness will definitely be required, the place is far from flat!

Not interested in VISA scheme just help-x workers that want to see somewhere different and get some exercise.

For those that really want to earn some money, that can be negotiated, and would be paid per task done. Thus the quicker/harder you work the more you get paid. So ideally suited to perhaps a couple of young fit go-getters prepared to get stuck in. Or if you are happy to plod along in return for food-board that is fine too, but it is physical.

We live on a sheep and cropping farm near the Grampians (in western Victoria about 3.5 hours from Melbourne ) 8km east of Cavendish, a small village, with our 28 yer old son who has just come home to the farm. We have holiday cottages on the farm as well as lots of sheep. We have 1 farm worker so I am really looking for help around the home, garden/vege garden, generally cleaning, domestic/handyman, and 'it' skills would be an asset, (4 hours work)in return for board and meals. We are an older couple but not too boring, we have 3 children in their 30's who keep us in the 21st century!!!. You would have your own room and bathroom (now to share with our son)and you would be part of the family. We would prefer a single person or a couple..... a car would be an asset as we are near the mountains. We can collect you from Dunkeld or Hamilton if you arrive by the Vline bus. I would anticipate a weeks stay would be a good option. Its a good half way stop from Adelaide to Melbourne or a sto... more inside

Hello,
We are a family of 4, 2 parents with a 9y.o daughter and a 2 y o son.
Our home on the outskirts of Lilydale is located in a rural setting with kangaroo's, birds, horses, sheep and lama's all viewable from the kitchen window!!,
the bus stop is only 500 meters from our doorstep, so to Melbourne CBD is just over an hour by public transport. You can have the best of both worlds, exploring the yarra valley wine region, dandenong ranges and the city.
We are open-minded, fun-loving creatures with a lust for life. We love art and music, especially roots/reggae/rocksteady!
We appreciate positive and respectful company.
Because we have young children in the family we ask for helpers to commit to a minimum 2 week stay. It also means that there's more likely time to show you something special in the area.
We are looking for help in the garden, household and/or with childcare.
If anyone knows how to build a fox proof chicken house with recycled materials, or how to design a webs... more inside

Our property is located in dairy farming country on a hillside that overlooks Wilson's Promontory National Park. The closest village is Fish Creek - a 10 minute car ride. We can meet you at the bus in Fish Creek. We have a large garden and require help with landscaping and gardening as well as house maintenance. If you have a car, we are 15 minutes drive from fabulous beaches and hiking country. We sometimes have a separate loft available, above the carport and removed from the main house for occasional visitor accommodation giving visitors more privacy. Rosemary is a Dutch speaker with an understanding of French so welcomes Dutch and French helpers in particular although all nationalities welcome but smokers discouraged. Roger is a retired academic (mathematician) and Rosemary is a retired university exchange program manager. *Thank you for looking at our profile. We are currently unable to receive guests due to some work going on in the house*

Good luck with your travels.

Hello we are a family of 3: Will, Millie and Ollie.

We live in a lovely little pocket of Melbourne, 14km from Melbourne CBD. There are shops and public transport close by, with the lovely Darebin Creek bike track at our doorstep. The three of us live in our little oasis with gorgeous Kelpie-cross, Zoe.

We love the arts - Will is an English teacher, painter and poet and Millie works in the arts while Ollie goes to school.

We take frequent walks along the creek - giving both the child and dog a run! - and love cooking good food. Our garden is full of fruit trees and vegetables, although the vegetables clearly vary with the season. And effort.

We would dearly love to have someone come and live with us to help with some after-school childcare over a busy time at both of our work. We will need some help around the hous... more inside

Welcome Helpers, I've established a garden, have 2 vegetable beds, a water tank and few fruit trees, so there's gardening and weeding, pruning and planting mulching. There's house repairs such as carpentry, painting, window cleaning
My home is a 70's beach house, in Cape Woolamai on Phillip Island. There is a comfortable bunk room or separate double bedroom with your own bathroom and toilet available. The house is walking distance to both a bay and surf beach, (l can show you the secret local spots!) coffee shop, store & weekend take aways.
Phillip Island has a bus to Cowes and Wonthaggi (1/2 hr away) and Melbourne- (2hrs away) helps to have your own transport. There's no internet or phone, so need your own wifi. You are living in my house and sharing facilities and kitchen
Nonsmokers please, english speaking helps as i have no other languages. Please contact me for more information.
There's no nightlife, apart from native animals, amazing birds and the odd seal or two .

Located in Toolangi Victoria, Australia on 40 Acres, we are situated 1 hour and 15 minutes from Melbourne's CBD. We live on the edge of some of Victorias's most beautiful forests and have a river running through the property with some beautiful bush tracks that can be explored. We are a young family of 4; Tania, Luke, Javier (7) and Sol (4) and would love to have some help maintaining the property. We also have chickens, two dogs and two cats, although the animals do not enter the bungalow you would be staying in.

We would love to gain your help in doing some small projects such as making a brick garden wall, helping build a tree house or just lots of gardening, blackberry removal and tree pruning. When enquiring please specify what interests you and I am sure we can find something that would suit!
