Hello, My home and studio are by the sea on Bruny Island, a remote place where you need to have your own transport. My home is on 2 acres and is built from local Tasmanian timber and a collection of pre loved materials. I have an organic garden growing whatever the seasons allow, I always have ongoing building projects, landscaping gardening, wood chopping and garden maintenance that I would like some help with.
Currently I am working on my studio, after laying a new wooden floor ,there are some finishing off jobs inside but then some building an outside work making clay render, building a retainer walland landscaping this area ready for planting in the autumn.

I require help from creative people with building, landscaping and gardening skills. Particularly building projects...

We are a small family owned and operated farm. Having been fully certified organic for the past 18 years and farming our land organically for the past 30 years we have a passion for caring for our environment. Currently we grow and harvest multiple vegetable lines and also have a large Blueberry orchard and supply several retail outlets in Hobart.
People who stay with us must have a passion for dogs as we have 20 sled dogs (Siberian Huskies) as during the winter months we operate a sled dog eco based tourism venture. Accommodation is basic but comfortable and meals delicious and plentiful.
We are a fun loving family with a great sense of humour, we work hard but love our down time to be able to do the things we enjoy most. Situated in the lush foothills of the South West National Park in Tasmania the many visitors who stay with us from all corners of the world enjoy and appreciate the environment that we live in. Most visitors don't want to leave, it is truly such a special space... more inside

We live on a life style property in the North West corner of Tasmania. Half the property is a beautiful ornamental garden and the rest is given over to fruit trees, vegetables, berries, bees and chickens. We are passionate about growing organic vegetables and berries and as a rule we pick our veggies in the late afternoon for that evening's meal so what you are eating is as fresh as is possible. You will immediately taste the difference between our veggies and those that are store bought. Our honey is organically harvested and not heated.

In Jan/Feb we take our hives to the Tarkine forests to feed on the leatherwoods which give us the uniquely Tasmanian leatherwood honey. If you are interested in these aspects of sustainable living, we are the hosts for you. If you do not wish to be involved with the bees, that is not a problem as there is enough to do working with the veggies so nobody will be bored. We bottle, freeze, dry and do as much as we can to preserve our produce for the ... more inside

1 hectare of organic apples, large dam, mainly pastures but currently proceeding to mixed farming.

A state of the art eco-house is to be built here in 2017.

Accommodation is currently in an insulated room inside large timber/corrugated iron shed, sharing kitchen, toilet, and bathroom with owner.

Work needed includes some building, improving existing fences, tending animals as and when they are acquired, tending orchards, watering, manual labour.

No smoking zone. The owner speaks fluent French and is open minded and well traveled himself... and is a good cook!

NOT TAKING HELPERS AT THE MOMENT - THANKS (March 2017), WILL UPDATE WHEN AM REAdY AGAIN. Pls contact me rather than the email address on the webpage. The webpage gives you an idea of the Ecovillage. You would be staying in my two bedroom unit - up to two Helpers in bunks in one room. The unit is part of a lot of motel units - which many of the residents live in. Other houses are being built at the ecovillage at the moment. We gather a few times a week for a meal, or games or a working bee. I would love someone to help re-establish a garden that has overgrown - a herb/vegetable garden. You can cook also - or cook with me, as part of your work. There may be other interesting things happening from time to time like a straw bale house building workshop....Work would be up to four hours a day - four or five days a week.

I am 44, very young at heart - like hanging with people of any age...I am into music (play guitar and sing), cooking and sharing meals, deep and meaningful conversati... more inside

I have a large inner city garden with chooks and a cat and dog. I need help with weeding, mulching, bit of garden bed development and general help around the place!

My home is over 100 years old and very centrally located to all that Hobart has to offer.

I can offer you a double bed and a very comfy and safe environment.

I am a clinical psychotherapist, into meditation, and a teacher at the University. I am Czech and have 3 children though only have one at home now- he is at Uni and he and his girlfriend live here.

This is a friendly and safe place to stay and I would welcome you for a few days to see how we go but up to twp weeks if we feel its a good fit

We have been on our property for only 2 years (though have owned it for 5) so there's lots of new projects to do.

We are growing a range of fruit and nut trees (still young), garlic (our first crop for sale, see photos) and a range of veggies. This Spring we added bees and chooks to the mix and soon hope to complete the outer fencing project to allow us to graze livestock and sell organic hay. We have a small herd of goats for milking and a few sheep to keep the grass down in the house paddock. Projects for the coming year are to build a small accommodation pod using local materials including claylight straw (for future HelpX's, WWOOFERS and visitors) and extending the decking on our cabin. A key part of our philosophy is a focus on soil through biodynamics, composting and other organic inputs. Soil testing shows we are building soil carbon and balancing minerals and soil chemistry in the places where we've begun.

Our cabin is a cosy and basic wood stove heated cabin which w... more inside
