We are a young french couple who are living in the Hautes-Pyrénées, near Lannemezan.
Fabien is mountain guide, and Charlene is farmer.

We have a big garden with medicinals plants and vegetables. We are experimenting different ways to cultivate. We are always satisfied to learn various agricultural technicals. It is important for us to use all the resources that we have on the spot, plants, trees, compost, shearing, rather than to bring elements from outside.
We sell our production with two market by week so it's lot of work!
We have five cheeps, five chickens and two cats.Sometimes, there is dunkeys in the place to eat grass.

The activities are diverse: mainly of the gardening(weeding, ground work, seedling, plant and transplant), take care a few sheeps, sort out seeds and spices, make the picking of wild plants, prepare herb teas and prepare the market.
Generally we work the week and you can take you week end free to visit or what you want.

Hello! We are looking for strong and energetic helpers [aged over 25 with some experience of work]to help with an active and varied work schedule from the middle of May onwards. We need to do exterior work, clearing undergrowth, chopping, planting, renovations of an underground chamber, moving and preparing building materials, preparing for a concert at the end of June - including publicity, painting of shutters and walls, cleaning, preparation of the chateau and pool area for wedding viewings, helping with customer room preparation and breakfasts and wood polishing. Thank you!

Our Chateau was built in the 11th century and is set amongst 20 hectares of sun-flowered fields, woods and parkland, with organic fruit gardens and a solar-heated swimming pool. The Chateau is rich with the history of Viscounts, Cathars and the Knights of the Templar. It fell into neglect following an attack during the 16th century Wars of Religion.

We bought it 10 years ago, to develop it using t... more inside

(Version française sera là dans quelques jours...)

update: we are looking for woofers to come the third week of july in order to be up to speed to look after our farm for a two-week period (where we'd like to leave on holiday with the kids). There's about 3-4 hours of work per day. You can enjoy the mountains, our private pond, the lovely village at 20min walk etc....

Hi.
We are a family with 2 kids (9 & 11) who exchanged our previous lives (as a nurse and engineer) for a 'back to basics' life where we try to grow healthy food for as many people as possible. On our small farm, at 750m altitude and with views of the Pyrenees, are 250 laying hens, 4 cows, 3 goats, 3 pigs, a dog and 3 cats. We sell our produce on the local markets. We both had completed our PDC with Richard Perkins at Ridgedale permaculture. Our 'heroes' are Joel Salatin, Alan Savory and the likes...so we move our cows and chicken tractors every day and grow tomatoes in our greenhouse...

We have decided to try and speed up renovation work on our semi-ruined farmhouse property in a small hamlet close to Albi and Gaillac (Tarn). The pool is in, so is a big kitchen and dining room, bedroom, office, shower room and bathroom - the essentials! But there is still a lot to do and we are not getting any younger... We need help with stonework – in particular we have a project to build a low stone wall along the back of the pool (see picture) and point the existing stonework on one of the pinion walls (about 20m2) we would also like to finish building up the stone cladding on the back wall (see photo). The paving around the pool is set in sand rather than concrete and this year we need to re-seat them as quite a few have moved... they weigh 20 kilos a piece so this involves heavy lifting! The list is long and of course we can’t expect to get it all done this year – the final list of jobs would depend on the skills you have. We also need to get on with some of the inside work (... more inside

A Rustic, Organic Mountain Paradise.

My partner and I (who is from England, I am from France), live in the french Pyrennes, with our boy, Zephyr (3 years old).

The place is beautifull, very quiet and far from the city. There s lots of nice walks to do in the area, and breathtaking scenery.

This year's projects include, finishing our bathroom, make a new dry toilet outside, and a new wood shelter. These are priority jobs, then there are lots of smaller jobs that are always going on. The garden always needs loving attention, there is wood to be cut, chopped and collected, and since we live directly on the mountainside there is always terrassing to make some flat lands, and general landscaping projects. We work with organic materials in a sustainable way.
We also ve got the project to get few goats.

Even for people who want to come and help with cooking, including transformation of foods (conserves, lactofermentation etc.) and other domestic work are most welcome. there is... more inside

URGENT! For june !! looking for a dynamic and independent person (speaking a bit of French).
It would be mainly to help me cleaning, since i'm getting the place ready for the season.
Here is the regular announce :I am living in a historical house, in the middle of the forest (5Km away from the village of St Laurent d'Olt) 45min driving from Millau, Rodez (airport), and Mende.
Ideal place for people loving nature and quiete places. There are plenty of hinking trails around the house. The tasks can be odd jobs (painting, helping to some building), gardening (I am starting a permaculture garden), fit the garden out, cleaning.
I speak a bit Spanish, and a very little English.
It's a good place for you if you want to learn French and have an experience of the real France.
Looking forward hearing from you !
Béa :)

Hi, we are Mike and Nancy, a Canadian couple, residing in France. About two years ago we moved to Aulon, a small village between Saint Gaudens and Aurignac in Haute Garonne. We found an unloved house, to make home and bare land to build gardens. The goal is to live as naturally as possible in a modern world with permaculture principles as our guide.

We are trying to achieve self-sustainability in the long run, and much work is to be done. So far we have the gardens and green house planted, for fresh veggies this summer. We have our first brood of baby chickens, offering plenty of free range eggs. The fruit trees are in bloom. The two pigs are doing ground work clearing land and our two cats, Tesla and Honcho are our best friends and do nothing but eat and sleep (Enjoying the good life). Nancy mostly does the gardens and could always use help. I do the renovations (with Nancy’s help), and there’s a lot to renovate!

We are looking for capable help in July to assist us with som... more inside
