A renovated large country house set in 40 acres of gardens, fields and forests on the edge of Mountaine Noir. 40 minutes from Carcassonne and 20 minutes from Revel. Perfect base for mountain biking and hiking with beautiful views of the Pyrenees.
The house is rented out in July and August but we would love to have some great people come to stay with us before and after this period.
We are a couple in our early 50ies and need a few hours a day (not week end) to help with the garden, forestry and dry stone walling. Free food and wifi. Double room (or extra bed if required) and bathroom.

We are located in a small village near the foothills of the Pyrenees in the region of Occitania (formerly Languedoc-Roussillon) in the department of Aude. We speak several languages including English, French and Spanish. Our village is old and typical for this part of south-west France. Our home is a century-old three-bedroomed house. We have no animals and cannot host pets. We have wifi and satellite TV.

We are looking for people from the end of April to June who can help with our permaculture projects and gardening and simple restoration work, including painting, carpentry and stonework, as well as daily tasks. No special skills are required. You will have lots of free time to explore this very beautiful and interesting region of France.

We are a small organic olive farm, not yet in production. We practice permaculture and the olives are part of a 'forest garden' which also includes 200 cork oaks, carob & other trees & shrubs. We also have a vegetable garden, fruit trees, dogs, cats, a house pig, donkeys, bees and worms!. Living in a Mediterranean climate we practice several different methods of water recycling & have a biological swimming pool. Help is required with all aspects of a compassionate, sustainable lifestyle.
Meals are vegan, wine is served with the evening meal and we are non smoking. Current projects are general forestry & garden management, spring planting, plus various indoor projects for bad weather.
Normally up to 4 helpers are here at a time, living as part of a family style community. We ask a minimum commitment of 4 weeks, with longer stays very much preferred. People usually book a few weeks ahead, but we sometimes have last minutes vacancies.

OUR PROJECT = Rehabilitation of a old stone farmhouse in the forest/ working on our vegetable garden & creating water bassins

As a family we started to change our life style to a more responsible one ( re-use of materials, less waste, vegetarian food). We are learning continuously and like to share experiences and pass a message to our kids.

We are converting an old abandoned farmhouse into a sustainable living accommodation. We love to share our experience with people who would like to share their experiences with us in return.

Some of our kids are regularly wooffing in other parts of the world.

We are an English/Norwegian family consisting of my husband Per, myself and our two daughters who are in their twenties and grew up in France. They don't live at the house but are often around. We are looking for helpers to assist with, gardening, some simple maintenance, DIY skills, carpentry, tiling, painting etc.or helping with bed and breakfast duties ....would like to have French speakers who can practise their English but help me with my French.
