We are a family of six with three children still at home. Our children are homeschooled and together we manage the sheep and beef farm that we live on. The farm is very isolated on a island, it is very beautiful and wild. We like help with gardening and general farmwork. There is opportunity for fishing, hunting deer and pigs, kayaking and bushwalking. We like to meet people from all around the world. You would need to get on well with children and large dogs and be happy away from technology for the duration of your stay. We are a 3/4 hour four wheel drive trip, 20 minute boat ride and then a 2 and a half hour drive to either Nelson or Blenheim so if you come here you need to bring all necessary items needed for the duration of your stay as you would not be able to shop until you leave. Because of the isolation and the cost of getting here we generally like people to stay between three to six weeks.

Hi there! We have a small modern house 70 metres from the beach in Anakiwa and 30 mins by road from Picton. There are kayaks here, excellent bush walks and a beautiful relaxed seaside environment.

Our family regularly hosts young volunteers (wwoofers/helpers) from our international visitors. You are treated like a member of our family, you live within our private household, share your background and experience our daily life in New Zealand.

As with family members, there are no formal contracts or payment, your input is fully voluntary and you are free to depart at any time. Volunteers normally help out for 3 hrs per day with the afternoons/evenings free to relax.

Tasks are typically gardening, house cleaning, laundry, helping with meals (vegetarians welcome, but sorry we are not vegetarian!) and generally assisting around the property with misc tasks that suit your talents.

You will get involved in our daily family life, boat trips, shopping trips, maybe some baking... more inside

We're entirely off-grid: solar power, etc.

In return for 4 hours work a day I offer you accommodation in a sunny, warm home where you will have your own bedroom (queen size bed) and own bathroom with the added privacy of being in a separate wing of my house. My sunny home sits atop a hill from which you will have a magnificent view of the township of Blenheim to Cook Strait and the hills of the North Island beyond.

Of course if you would prefer to work a full day in order to have a day off in which you could explore the nearby Marlborough Sounds, cycle the wine trails, (I have bikes for you), or walk or climb on any of the formed tracks in this area, that would be just fine.

My 40ha property is a sheep farm most of which is leased. I tend a large garden and care for the drive and tracks, drainage and irrigation and deal with fallen trees. It is situated in the midst of vineyards in the Brancott Valley 13km from Blenheim (pop 25,000) which contests the annual sunshine record every year.

Most of the work is outdoor... more inside

Hi Everyone

We have finished the feijoa season so we won't need any workers again until spring.

_____________________________________________
We are looking for helpers for the feijoa season which will be from mid Apr to late Jun (frost depending). You will need to speak good english so we can train you, and you need to enjoy being outside in the sun picking fruit. We like to have lots of fun out there with music etc. We need people who can stay for 10-14 days at a time so you get really good at picking the fruit!

As well as the feijoa orchard we have a large home orchard and vege gardens, and some cattle.

Visitors must be good with dogs as our dog Posh is a large inside friendly dog and she is a big part of our family. And we now have a 6 week old baby so we are super busy!

We have Wi-fi available, a river to swim in, spa pool and plenty of open space for you to enjoy in your free time and of course we are quite close to all the Marlborough wineries if you fan... more inside

The sunny house has a large garden, with one small dog and two cats, and a horse. It is about 8 km from Blenheim in a wine-growing area.

Helpers would sleep in one or two spare bedrooms, and share bathrooms and the kitchen. The host would like help with the fig orchard, house, garden. There is one bicycle a helper could use. I would provide good home cooking for four hours work per day.
The figs season is over, and the nets are off.
