I need some help in my garden in Nelson, after May 29, which is located at walk-able distance from the heart of the city and on the bus line. Or I may have a bicycle that fits you. In summer I live in a gorgeous cottage right a the high water line in popular Mapua. If peace and tranquility is what you like , this is the place to be with restaurants and cafe's just around the corner.

I am 66, love the arts and sing in a world-music choir. I am also a yuan-gong teacher.

There are always jobs to be done that are too
hard for me to do by myself like development of
my garden, redecorating and cleaning.

In return I can welcome you in my delightful abode. I am very flexible and can provide healthy vegetarian meals or cater for meaters.

If this sounds like you I'd love to meet you and send you on your way to get to know Nelson and surrounding areas.

On my property, and in our family, there is always help needed, simple garden work, simple household duties and being with my two lovely children, as well as help in the Bed&Breakfast is appreciated.
Have 2 pet sheep, 2 pet rabbits and a puppy. Walking the dog, Ollie a border collie/huntaway cross, is one of the tasks.

I really appreciate having helpers who are willing to contribute to the life here. Helpers who are out-going, and who want to learn about life on an organic property. I am looking for mature responsible helpers who are not overly reliant on internet/facebook connection. I would rather have people who would like to converse and relate face to face.

We are Non-smokers, No TV, eat mostly vegetarian and organic, we speak German and English

Please no smokers - thanks

Look forward to welcoming willing helpers.
Cheers
Peter

Hello
We (John and Cher) live in a open sunny modern home at Cable Bay, near Nelson. Your room is lovely and comfortable. We live on the edge of a tidal estuary and it is a short walk to the swimming beach. We have kayaking and walking tracks, fishing and snorkelling close by. It is a 25 minute drive to Nelson closest town. The nearest shop is 10 minute drive away or 30 minutes by bike. We have wifi but no mobile reception.

The work you would be doing includes home gardening, weeding, clearing paths, odd jobs around our half acre section and organic garden, a little house work (we have a cleaner), and home maintenance. Some practical skills in building and use of machinery such as weed eaters would be great. We prefer experienced helpers who enjoy working unsupervised on their own as we are often working. Cher works as a communications trainer and mentor/mediator and John is a Museum Educator.
We normally cook whole plant based based diet from our vegetable garden, supp... more inside

Winter is a time of slower work maintaining and updating. Usually work starts when the sun is well up. We can host people over the winter and would be happy if you were able to give us more than the usual week or so.
Family oriented lifestyle block close to scenic sites, shops & beaches. We are retired Salvation Army Officers and have four generations living on the property and accommodation is in the main house with us. We are pretty laid back but welcome a good work ethic and teachable spirit, Use of washing machine and wifi.
We believe we have a unique lifestyle experience in that we raise Monarch Butterflies from Spring until Autumn. We have growing vege gardens and orchards that we are establishing by growing with woodchip/mulch for healthy growing. We have sheep and chickens and two youngish calves.
We are a nonsmoking/drug free property.
It would be necessary to have own transport or car license as we are 4 kms from nearest town Richmond. Mostly we would expect work in t... more inside

Karen and Paul and our 3 grown-up girls who visit quite often. We have just moved to a new home in Kina near Nelson with 4 hectares, where we have a few cattle and a horse. We have just extended the vegetable gardens as we enjoy mostly, good healthy home grown food. Paul does lots of fishing so that is frequently on the table. We eat most healthy foods and occasionally others not so!! We have 2 gorgeous properties, with the beach only 10 minutes walk away. Karen grows lots of flowers and does wedding settings, flower arrangements etc. As there is a fair bit of gardening, so some previous gardening knowledge would be an advantage. We have a holiday home next door to us which is generally pretty busy with guests, so most weeks there is a cleaning & washing schedule to carry out. Usually a bit of a rush before the next guests arrive. Paul is very busy starting a new venture making eco-friendly fishing sinkers, & needs help labelling, packaging etc. We have fairly hectic lives, thoug... more inside

Come & join the crew at our homely hostel in central Nelson. We have one Exchange Worker leaving soon.

We are a 5 to 10 minutes walk from town. The atmosphere here is very friendly, warm (log fire and heaters in all the rooms) and relaxed. Good Kiwi music, lots of books and magazines, games and a guitar.

Work is for up to 3 hours a day with one day off a week. We like you to stay for a minimum of 3 weeks. In return you get free accommodation, free breakfast (may-nov) and every night we serve up hot chocolate pudding and ice cream all year around. Also free use of washing machine and free unlimited wifi.

Work will be mainly helping to clean the hostel, but might also be gardening, painting, maintenance, etc..... there's always lots to do depending on your strenths & interests.

We extra value people that are very keen, enthusiastic, and love to help out in any way to give our guests the best experience they can get.

Email us - we look forward to hearing from you.
