Hi, we are Jane and Dave. We live in a small village in rural Lincolnshire in the East of England where we keep bees, chickens and pigs (pigs only during May-November) and grow fruit and vegetables in our large garden. Due to someone dropping out, we have a space for one person or a couple in the second two weeks of May. After that, we'd really like an experienced couple who can come for the month of July. We will have space for one or two people later in the year as well.

Weve travelled a lot ourselves, so its great to welcome people from around the world into our own home. We get the benefit of all the help with the animals, the garden and our various projects and enjoy the company of so many interesting people. Our volunteers seem to be happy too, have a look at our reviews to see if this is a home-stay you would enjoy and please do read our profile fully before you apply.

For 2018 we'd like to welcome couples, families or single people who really aspire to our value... more inside

This is a homestay in Hampshire, surrounded by open countryside and with a large garden. There are opportunities for Helpxers from September to November 2018 and it would ideally suit someone who is open-minded and aged around 18 to 40. *Please* be from the UK or Europe or from a country with a "Working Holiday Visa" (Australia, New Zealand, etc). I can't accept people from other countries unless they have a right to work in the UK.

My name's Anthony; born in the UK in the 1950s I moved from London to Hampshire in October 2014. There is a variety of work to do here. When the weather is good enough we will be looking after the garden; clearing the weeds, tending the vegetable patch, building fences, chopping wood, cutting the grass, raking up the leaves, planting shrubs and trimming hedges. Inside the house there will be general cleaning and helping to prepare meals. Usually we would work as a team but it helps if you can self-motivate and work alone sometimes.

We are a 26 acre traditional smallholding in mid-devon. We are renovating the land, which has been largely unused for a century. We keep rare breed sheep, goats, and chickens, and hope to include pigs shortly.

We have a large ongoing task in repairing / cutting back the hedge rows, with a view to repariing the banks, re-planting the gaps, and being able to lay the hedges in future years. We've also begun planting a new wood copse in one field, and plan to plant a traditional orchard in another.

One thing we have struggled with is getting our veg gardening up to scratch. We have experience and enthusiasm, but not enough hours in the day!

Whilst not being registered organic, we self-impose most of that system. We do treat the animals with medicines, but on an evidence-based basis.

Our over-arching approach is one of sustainability.

We would ideally like to find a person or a couple who was prepared to stay for several months of the spring/summer/autumn, and help with cr... more inside

If there is anyone 25 years+ available soon we would welcome someone from about April 29th or 30th for 2 or 3 weeks.
We are looking for someone to help with some cleaning and housework both inside and outside of the house and helping at a car boot sale. Depending on the time outside would include sweeping paths, weeding and generally helping Tim in the garden. No cooking is required as I like to cook myself. See also more jobs below.
We enjoy being members of helpx and would like someone preferably over the age of 25 to come and stay in a relaxed household and enjoy the south coast for short stays at various times to help me with some cleaning of the house and windows and sometimes to help Tim weeding and cutting down in the garden. We live on the outskirts of York, near the racecourse. We have a garden and grow fruit and vegetables on our allotment. We're a family of musicians so if you come then you're likely to hear us, (and to join in if you like!).

We try to cultivate using the 'no-dig' method and to re-use and recycle wherever possible.
Our house has solar panels on the roof for water and electricity as we are keen to reduce our impact on the environment.

We enjoy meeting people from all over the world and have made some wonderful friends in the process.

The work includes turning and spreading compost, weeding, seed sowing, planting out, grass cutting and fence painting. We'll also be tackling a neglected allotment, reorganising the layout and making new beds.

From early summer fruit and vegetables are ready to be harvested and prepared for freezing and conserving.
If the weather is bad then there are usually jobs to get on with in the house, garage and greenhouse.

We can offer all meals... more inside

*April/May placement*

Hi were Adam and Laura, we have a little boy called Harry and an English Pointer called Ottie. We currently live with Adams parents on a lovely smallholding, named Wickwood in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside. Wickwood consists of 10 acres of mainly fields and woodland, a farmhouse, cottage style gardens, vegetable patch, and is home to around 20+ sheep and numerous chickens.

Were just in the process of refurbishing a large barn conversion, which will be our future home and also includes an attached holiday cottage.
Were looking for one of two helpers, with building or decorating experience to help us complete the house, which should take another 4 weeks.

There are also gardens, woodland and an orchard which we hope to bring back to life and may even turn into a Glamping site.
Accommodation and food will be provided in return.

We are very sociable people and enjoy other peoples company.

Were keen to find helpers who have skills and... more inside
