We do have a fair quantity of timber and branches that needs to be cut up into logs. Although the garden is well maintained there are places where it has been overgrown and needs some tender care.

Besides the garden I do have a well equipped engineering workshop capable of handling metal working and wood working. I have, in hand, a 200 year old pitch pine Welsh dresser that is half restored and needs some tender love and care!

We now seem to be in better health but we do need some assistance in maintaining the garden and outbuildings. We would prefer to take on a male/female couple who would enjoy our company as well as their own!

We live in a very beautiful part of the Dee Valley within sight of the Snowdonia mountains.

We can accommodate in a separate wing of the house, with Jacuzzi, shower etc. Two bedrooms comprising one double bedded room and the other is a twin bedded room. Both Muriel and I are very good cooks and enjoy company and wine!
We do have two cats... more inside

Rural community of around 12 permanent members managing about 8 of our 35 hectares. Help needed with gardens, forestry, from planting to on-site timber production, animals, construction and general help around the farm including some cooking, preserving and other kitchen and domestic tasks. We usually ask for around six hours a day, five days a week, however this is flexible. Some tasks are quite physically demanding. We tend to work shorter hours at these. Lighter tasks are always available if you feel it is too much for you.
We prefer that you plan on staying with us a full two weeks if you have no relevant experience. This is to ensure that both us and you gain from your stay. Shorter stays are fine if you have relevant previous experience.
All our work on the land is organic, permaculture used as our basic method.
We also have workshops on site where we do our own maintenance and fabrication.
We host events and camping in the summer months.
There are several small busin... more inside

This is an innovative Social Impact community project, the 80-acre farm was recently purchased by our charity 'The MissingKind'and designated for its Headquarters and Eco-village project. Communally run 80-acre organic farm. We eat, work & make decisions together whilst sharing a large Welsh stone farmhouse and its outbuildings. We aim to live as lightly as we can with deep consideration and respect for our planet, each other and ourselves. All our power is produced by sun, wind, and water; we grow as much of our food as we can, we use our tractor for carting and haymaking, goats for milk and cheese and aspire to live life slowly enough to enjoy the rich pleasures of this glorious land.

Unfortunately, we can't accept volunteers flying just to spend time with us as the environmental cost of flying far out-weighs the benefit of your visit. Please see our website and Facebook page for more info.

During our volunteer weeks, we offer meals and accommodation for about 5.5 hours of helping a day Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and about 3.5 hours work on a Wednesday morning. At the weekend, and on Wednesday afternoon, your time is your own, to explore the surro... more inside

Hi,
We are Welsh speaking family, situated almost on the shore of Bala Lake, the biggest natural lake in Wales in the south of Snowdonia National Park and yes, the surrounding area is stunning. Bala is within walking distance and is a small market town with a few shops and a leisure centre which has a swimming pool.

We live on an acre of land that has woodland a stream and a garden which is managed organically and we have one permanent and one temporary polytunnel to grow our food. We have chickens, a dog and a few cats. We are on a very low income so our life style may seem quite simple to you. We use as little electricity and water as possible, fell our own wood for heating and our diet is mostly simple, homemade but nourishing.

Our property is vegetarian and is the ethos of how the land is managed and how we live.
Accommodation is a small 4 berth caravan which can accommodate 2 adults and two young children. There is no electricity or water to the caravan, the simple li... more inside

I have been very ill following a major operation, and am looking for someone able to assist generally with woodwork, joinery, gardening and shifting things, plus maybe some decoration and stone work. I can give lots of one-to-one training and guidance. I also restore old Landrovers and am building a cathedral scale pipe organ using Hauptwerk.

Come and enjoy a peaceful rural retreat in our painted caravan ( see photo) it is very simple with just a bed and a little woodburner. We live on a South facing smallholding 1400' high in the Welsh Cambrian mountains, we also have a bell tent ( see photo) to stay in during the summer months up on the terraces if you prefer more privacy or if there are more people staying. The caravan sleeps one person or a couple (one double bed) We now have another caravan with a double bed which hasn't yet been painted or converted, it still has gas heating and an electric light.
Washing facilities are in our family house and there is a separate toilet ( flushed using a bucket of water) in the studio. We cook in the kitchen in our family house, and eat communally, we are also building an outside kitchen. We eat together outside mostly in the summer and in the family house when it's colder.
We are looking for people to stay here on a short term basis who want to be outside in nature and want the... more inside

We (Pete and Sophia) moved to the Welsh Borders in February 2017. Having spent a couple of years travelling in our campervan, HelpXing and living in the Alps. It felt like the time to put down some roots & begin a new adventure. We are both 33 & have a young energetic German Shorthaired Pointer, called Juno. We are looking for liberal-minded people with a 'can do' disposition to help alongside us and share wine/beer by a fire some evenings. We see this as a great opportunity to meet new people & we loved our time HelpX-ing. We want you (anyone volunteering with us) to have a great time & we'll do all we can to make sure you're happy and have things to do that you enjoy.

This place, our new home, consists of 10 acres of woods; a crazily overgrown garden; a pond; a timber frame house (which we are living in and renovating); plus a little woodland cabin (featured in the pictures below).

We are looking for volunteers to help us get to grips with the woodland and garden from Septe... more inside

We love to welcome volunteers at our Community in Wales, Uk as volunteers.

We are an intentional community currently made up of 2 families, and a couple, and some young adults. The children here are home educated.
We also have 3 dogs, 2 cats and 29 goldfish in the pond,12 chickens and a cockerel. We are interested in sustainable off grid living and eco education( the fun and interesting way), and in spring and summer biodynamic gardening and permaculture. In autumn winter we need help with wooding, building and carpentry. We are close to the Presilly mountains and not far to the coast.

In spring and summer the centre has guests come to visit to stay over summer in Glamping yurts and also a few rooms air bnb style aswell as a family camp festival week so it gets fairly busy and volunteer help is appreciated. We also have a home educators day run weekly all year plus other courses and events coming together. In autumn and winter we push forward with building and carpentry and m... more inside
