We are a family of 4 adults,2 dogs,2 horses,5 chickens - we could take 1-2 people/Couple/Friends to come and live with us for a while. Our son is a student and film maker and our daughter age 24 is autistic...she is very capable and no physical disabilities at all. She just need some more company; to go swimming, Cycling, walking on the beach, in the local mountains, at the gym etc. Father is an author and works from home. We live on a farm just outside the town 25 kms from Belfast on the east coast and 120 kms from Dublin - the Mourne mountains can be seen from the house and we visit a lot.. Several beaches close by and we often take picnics/walk/ride in the summer..We live in an old untidy 5 bedroomed house and we need help sorting out 'stuff' from our former larger house - old furniture, toys, games, books, paintings which needs to go to the charity shop etc. A bit of indoor house painting - one room to be finished. A driver would be helpful but not essential. Someone who likes ... more inside

** I am looking for helpers from July 2017 and throughout the summer **
This is a backpacker hostel about 50 metres from the Atlantic Ocean in the pretty little town of Portstewart. The nearby coastline is a dramatic mix of rocky coastline and long sandy beaches with the major attractions of the Giants Causeway and Carrick-a-rede rope bridge further along the coast and easily accessible by bus or car. There are fine surfing opportunities in both Portstewart and the nearby Portrush with surf shops in both towns. The area also has a lively year round night life.
The hostel is a small 32 bed hostel. Volunteers would need to be happy mixing in an environment with all nationalies and types of guests. The duties to be done would be to help maintain a friendly and relaxed atmosphere in the hostel. They would also help in the various cleaning and reception activities of the hostel. As you would be interacting with the guests a reasonable level of English would be needed although the positi... more inside

We are a home educated family with two girls aged 4 and 2. We unschool. We started a couple of years ago to grow vegetables every summer and will be continuing to grow and learn as we go - in Northern Ireland we don't get amazing warm weather. We own a couple of chickens and have a decent sized garden for a town house. Town is about a five min walk and has entertainment and beaches very close. Giants causeway is close by too which brings tourists to the area. We love learning as we go and would love to share a journey with others along the way :)

We are a small independently run hostel in Belfast. Currently rated number 1 in Northern Ireland on hostelworld. We like to have people work with us who are friendly and outgoing, who are here to get something from this experience, socialize with the guests and staff, create a buzz and be a contributing character and presence to the hostel. In exchange for free accommodation in our 6 bed mixed staff dorm you will be required to work up to 3-4 hours a day either cleaning the hostel and making beds in the morning or reception duties during the day plus 1 night shift per week which is from 8pm to 8am. After your night shift you get that day off! We are a super friendly and chilled out hostel with artwork on nearly every wall which guests who are artists have done while they have stayed with us. We see it more of a homely feel hostel as the volunteers stay on site and they treat it as if it were their home. We do ask for a minimum stay of 1 month so you can learn the ropes and get famil... more inside

Feb 2017 Update: need a pair of helpers straight away!
The heart of this rural smallholding is a renovated, traditional stone cottage, built in 1758 and located in south County Down, roughly between Belfast and Dublin. Situated in the foothills of the Mourne Mountains and only twenty minutes from the Irish Sea, the farm sits on a 2 acre site which is given over to an exotic arboretum, orchard, native woodland and an organic vegetable garden, including a forty-foot polytunnel. Though the property is fairly rustic, all amenities are here: you will want for nothing, including high-speed wireless throughout. HelpX accommodation is in a nicely heated traditional stone cottage, complete with two beautiful, tuned upright pianos! HelpX tasks include all the usual organic gardening jobs, as well maintenance of the trees and shrubs and looking after the chickens. The host is a university lecturer who is away part of the time, so it's a good idea to be a self-starter who is willing to work i... more inside
