You are invited to stay with us in a nice and peaceful rural enviroment, in the little village "Bentorf" which belongs to the community "Kalletal" (Lippe/NRW) and work on our new log cabin together with us.
Even if you never have done that before...
Stay as long as you like. There are always projects like painting or gardening, or constructing little things, srewing slats, putting insulation and so on...

On the pictures you can see our new log house in progress...

We live directly next to our new property - in an apartment of a renovated old farmhouse surrounded by meadows. Under your window you find the paddock for the two friesian horses "Ivy" and "Rudi" whose owner lives in the same house.

Kalletal is located near the "Teutoburger Wald" and the "Weserbergland" and is perfect for hiking or mountain biking, or doing the bike trip along the river Weser, which a lot people do- you can use our bikes if you like.

You would like living for a while in a calm rural area in East-Thuringia with a room on your own in an old farmhouse in the middle of fields, meadows and some little woods, close to (25 km) the city of Altenburg together with actually 6 other people and a number of animals ... ?

Than you are the right person to spend some time with us here in Nischwitz.

We are Stefan (49, joiner) and Eva (51, nurse), living here in our old farm (12000 m², 4 buildings) with three of our four children (Janina 20, Paul 15, Theodor 8), our first grandson (Oscar, 12 weeks), our 3 year old horse Amina, our little goat Olga (5 months), our dog Amy (5), two cats (Mia 3, Paula 7).

From 1997 until 2013 we ran here our own joinery. As it did not work financially, we had to close down our company. Now we are both working in Altenburg, Stefan in an organisation, which tries to help people with psychic problems, me as a nurse in the psychiatric clinic in Altenburg.

To give living here in this big farm... more inside

Hi everybody!
I live in an 400 years old farmhouse with 3 barns and a huge garden. We are a living community of 4, often visited by our several kids and grandkids. We have cats, 2 big dogs and 3 sheep. The dogs are always waiting for somebody to play with them (everybody can do) or to take them for a long walk (with experienced dogkeeper only). There are lots of things to do to keep everything keen and tidy. For example: Gardening, weeding, painting, renovating, cleaning the house and the yard, cooking meals, cleaning the kitchen etc. HelpXers should be willing to work outside and should be flexible. Some experience with tools or even more working by hand is requested, too.
For 4-5 hours of work on 5 days a week we can offer a bed in my office (which I might have to use 1-3 hours per day in the afternoon) or (if no other guests are here) in a private room and food/meals with the family 7 days a week. There is Wi-Fi available but no TV.

I speak German and English and a litt... more inside

Horse-working, self-sufficient, sustainable farm in Bavaria, Germany
----------------------------------------------------------------

The meaning of this farm is to enable a real sustainable lifestyle.
To protect our environment and natural resources we grow pretty much all of our food on our own and we are planning on expanding in the future (start a farm community, CSA) to make it possible for more people to participate in this way of living.

We are four children and two adults, taking care of our farm on the countryside between Nürnberg and Nördlingen (in Bavaria/Bayern) with four horses and ponies, some milk sheeps and hens. There are many plants: vegatables, grain, fruits, gras, trees...
For development, construction and maintenance work of the agricultural, transport and processing equipement, machines and tools there is a workshop with many hand and power tools, spare parts and metal as well as wood working machines.

You are welcome to join us, learn from us, lear... more inside

We run a small farm, with 40 calves, 10 oxes, 40 hens, 5 cats, a dog, 16 horses and 2 foals.
There's always a lot to do in the house renovating and cleaning. Feeding animals, repairing machines, working in the garden or in the fields. We built a new horse stabel over the last years. Its more or less ready now. One of the main works is around the horses, cleaning, feeding, bringing them in and out. For people who can ride is always an option to get on a horse back.
An other big thing, for us the biggest, is that we have twins, born in December 2011. So I can always need a hand in the house and with the kids.

We, Helmut, me(Jenny)and Anna and Felix are living in a big, old farmhouse. Located in south-east-baveria near the Chiemsee und the mountains. Helmut is doing most work with the mashines. I give riding lessons and I am working with mental handicaped peopel on our farm. We are hard working people, but we are living in very relaxed atmosphere. We both traveled in earlier day... more inside

We like to have people here from all over the world and like the exchange with them. We had helpers from 19 to 78 years old - there is experience and work for everybody who is openminded, willing to learn or teach us new things and abilities. We like to talk to you and hear from your homecountry!

We have a vegetable garden, a fruit garden with 20 fruit trees, approx 25 chicken and 14 sheep for our own "use". Additionally we offer seminars a... more inside

Hey,

We like to have one or two helpers, a couple or friends are also welcome.
We prefer female helpers because of our daughters.
You would work 4-6 hours a day for accommodation and food. You would have your own little room and a shared bathroom. You can use the wifi and telephone for inland calls.
Your tasks would be to help a little bit in the household and maybe to help with some projects. But more important for us is the cultural exchange and we hope that you can teach us a few things about your culture and maybe cook some special dish from your country.
You are welcome to stay for longer but if you like you also can stay for just a few days.
We are flexible and happy to help you also with your further travel plans and show you a little bit around.

Who are we?
---------------
We are the Busch family which includes Asa (the dad), Siggi (the mum) and our daughters Lisa (21) and Anna (16). We have two more daughters that don't live at our place anymore: Nora (24) ... more inside

Volunteer in the eastern part of Germany and join our life.

Please read our profile in detail before you send us a message.

We are a family of 3: Kerstin (50), Carsten (50) and Christopher (23). We live in a village on an estate that was a farm in the past. The village is situated 60 km from Dresden, 100 km from Leipzig and 170 km from Berlin in a national park. We have one cat that lives with us, too. If you come to us, you must like cats.

The business run by our family offers a holiday apartment and we wirk in several projects.

We invite you into our home and accept you as part of our family. We do our best to make you feel at home and appreciate any additional assistance. If you join us it will be fun, promise. Our place is for genuine travellers who want to learn more about Germany and experience staying with an East German family. It is not for those looking just for food and accommodation.

We've lived here since June 2011 on our farm in the most western part of Germany. The dutch border is only a few 100 meters away. The next dutch city is Sittard (3km). The next bigger German city is Aachen (35km).
We are a family of four. Our son Noah is born in August 2010 and our second son Mika in August 2012. Alwin is working full-time in the IT business and Stephanie is the boss of our house/family/farm (She is working 2 days a week as movement therapist).
We have a big garden with a lot of vegetables and a orchard directly at our house. (We are not full-time farmers but we try to grow as much fruit and vegetables as possible for our own and our family)
We also own a piece of forest.
We need help for the work in the garden or orchard or around the house (depending on the time of the year). Also a helping hand in the house is needed (babysitting or cleaning).
Sometimes some woodwork in the forest has to be done or other renewing activities (e.g. painting) at our house.
