Important: If you want to join our team, please contact us first to check if we have availability! We have limited spots and being close to Rome we are often full and unable to handle short-notice requests.

We are a care farm that exists since 2002, one of the first care farms in Italy. We have animals, vegetable gardens, and a fruit yard. Our many animals are part of the staff, they work with us with the disabled. We have experience with animals but a bit less with vegetable gardens. Since 4 years we work together with a horse riding association that specializes in Horse Bed Riding therapy for multiply disabled, the only one in Italy. The farm is near to the sea and only 1 km from the train station from where you can reach the centre of Rome in about 40 minutes. You will have a room in our farm appartment, which doubles as guest house and office. There is a living room with an open kitchen, and a bath room with shower and (small) bath. Even if we don't do large scale production,... more inside

Hello,

My husband and I are artists.
We live in a farmhouse in Tuscany in the middle of the olive groves and vineyards.
At home we speak English and my husband speaks German to the children. They also understand Italian.
The boys are Alessio and Casimir, they are very sociable and love new people and we would love for someone who enjoys children and has energy and initiative to come and spend some time with them.
We can offer a private bedroom and bathroom.
I would like someone who has experience with children and also who enjoys the countryside.
There is a bus to Florence from the end of our drive and lots of beautiful hilltop towns to visit nearby.
Looking for someone to come for one week or two weeks or more.
Decima Campe

I am looking for a person who can put visual poetry into a Wordpress website. This spot in the hills of the Tuscan Apennines, near St. Francis' sanctuary, has been decribed as a paradise of the senses - but how to communicate it?
I am an old sculptress and painter and I have some ideas about what I'd like to see, but no understanding of how to do it.
The villa itself is a big barn and farmhouse conversion, restored slowly but with passion in the mountains east of Florence. It is near many famous cities, and only 20 or so mins. from the E45, the main Rimini/Rome highway.

I play flute and am learning the cello so musicians are especially welcome. It is a very creative place too - the sculptor Michelangelo was born a stone's throw away.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Jenny.

We are an open-minded italian-german couple 48/50 with 2 children 19/14 years old. Our little organic farm is situated on a beautiful hillside outside the medival coast-town of Bosa on the wild west coast of Sardinia. On our own land 1,5 ha we are living in a small simple restored house in between 300 old olive trees. From here we are overlooking the Bosa-valley with the river Temo, the Malaspina castle and the sea with the bosa-marina beach. We are cultivating a vegetable-garden and keep a few chickens. Two dogs and 5 cats became part of the family as well. Apart of our own land we have rented another piece of land 2,5ha with 200 olive trees in a nearby village. Therefore one of our main activities is the cultivation of olives and the production of oliveoil. Olive-picking season is from the end of october until the end of november. Hi travellers,

Ciao I' m Rosamaria, ex citizen of the world now living in a charming house in the centre of a beautiful city on the Italian coastline. I have lived my life to the fullest, therefore I know a lot about life and people. I am really generous, friendly and open-minded, different than most people. Moreover, thanks to God I am in good health.

I would like to host helpers who are honest and open minded like me in my house to help with my animals (one dog lives in the house and cats live on the terrace) for no longer than three weeks. The work is helping me maintain my home, feed my animals and also someone who enjoys sharing company and exchanging stories!

Travellers from all over the world are welcomed in my lovely house. If you have any questions or would like some more information feel free to message me.

All the best,
Rosamaria

I need helpers for olive picking in now. I am from the UK and now live in Tuscany and have a holiday resort and animal sanctuary. I need help all year with a variety of things and in exchange you get to stay in the most beautiful location and have use of the swimming pool as well as plenty of time to explore the area.. Long term considered.
You must be an animal lover as I have a sanctuary for abandoned and abused animals. I need help with garden work and general maintenance. You dont have to be skilled as just a willing pair of hands is a good helper. My holiday business funds the animal sanctuary so help cleaning apartments is sometimes required too.We need help in return for all meals and private accommodation & Wi-Fi

Hi, we are looking for horse and animal lovers to help us out with our 70 rescued horses. We ask for serious, dedicated, fun and hard-working helpers. We offer a wonderful environment, in the heart of the Chianti region. A fully furnished apartment to be shared with other helpxers, and the possibility to work hands-on with our beautiful creatures. We are nature loving people, vegetarians, we speak English but will be happy to speak Italian if you want to improve your knowledge of the language. We look forward to welcoming you in our beautiful surroundings. We prefer helpers that can spend a minimum of two weeks with us. As we are a no profit organization, we rely entirely on donations. For this reason we ask our volunteers for a contribution of 50 euro a week towards the rent of the apartment that will host them.

We need help all year round. Longer stays (3 weeks or more) are preferred. We are looking for a couple of strong arms to dig a few trenches for our irrigation implant.

Fall and winter here are the most prosperous seasons of the year. A great deal of fruits ripen, starting with olives in November followed by avocados, feijoas, annonas and then all the citruses (satsumas, clementines, madarins, chinottos, lemons, oranges, tangelos, citrons, pummelos, grapefruits) but also pomegranates, guavas, hovenias, medlars, etc., etc. Some of them need to be picked almost every day throughout the season. This is the time when most plants embark in their slumber and thus the best time to prune.

Hi, my name is Guido and with my parents, sister and grandma we live in a nice, chaotic country house in the middle of a 3 acre orchard in Giarre on Mount Etna’s east side - exactly in between the mountain and the sea.

My parents work for the Italian education department, my father (Tur... more inside

Help appreciated in March 2018!

We are an agritourismo in Tuscany (Chianti region) south of Florence. On our estate we combine organic farming (production of olive oil, herbal products, jams and preserves) with sustainable tourism. No livestock farming.

In spring (esp February and March) the focus is on outdoor tasks: fencing, gardening, pruning trees, maintenance and all kind of repairs.

Typical tasks at our landhold are, depending on talent and necessity:

Gardening: e.g. planting, weeding, watering, pruning olive trees, mowing lawns, repairing fences and stone walls, chopping fire wood ...
Housekeeping: e.g. taking care of the pool (cleaning, laying out mattresses), help to prepare the daily meals, supporting the charlady to prepare the flats for new guests ...

A small farm (5 hectars, half of which is forest) in a quiet green valley, 1 hour walk from the village. The closer railway station is Fabro-Ficulle (7 km) which is halfway between Rome and Florence. There are funny dogs (4 adults ) and sometimes their puppies come visit :), there are also cats who are often in the house. We protect Hedgehogs. There is a veg-garden that needs weeding, and other attentions... and loads of things to do: mainly rebuilding some order here and there, help with fruits & veg.preserves, clearing, cleaning and so on. We preferably eat our own produce, gather wild herbs, truffles and fruits; we buy as little as possible and are not used to animal products.
Usually -as a guest- you have a self contained room.
Normally no more than 1 guest at once.
Stays of at least 1 week, and it is better for someone who is happy to be on her/his own at times. I mainly need help around and in the house and sometimes also in my ceramic lab.
Sometimes small building jobs... more inside
