I'm looking for someone to help me with my 44 ft sailing yacht. I need help with sailing, game fishing, cleaning, polishing, painting type stuff. If you work 4 hours per day, I can provide food and accomodation on the boat. The plan is to cruise the far north area so the boat will be moving around a bit. I can pick you up in the Bay of Islands, Whangaroa or Monganui. I am cruising in NZ till May before heading to the tropics.

Look forward to meeting you:-)

Hello to all travellers, before reading any further, I think we should tell you that we DON'T have a farm, but we do live in the country, so...... if you are wanting to work on a farm, our place may not be the place for you.
It would be better for you if you have your own transport. We are in a rural area and about 15 minutes in 3 directions to the nearest townships. We both work full time, 3 of our 4 children in their 30's, have all left home and live independently. We now have spare bedrooms with either double or queen size beds.
At the moment we are needing help with the weeds that are taking over our gardens, collecting firewood, and just easy jobs around the property.
We seem to have a lot of success with helpxers that have done a few help out jobs and are more experienced. That would be more preferable for us.
Hopefully the sun will stay out for us and we can get some fishing in!
We have free wifi and make and eat wonderful food!
We would be happy to hear from you but... more inside

We overlook the beautiful Whangaroa Harbour which is a great place to kayak, fish and explore. There are walking tracks in the area and a DOC hut on the harbour at the end of one.

We are about 2 1/2 hours from Cape Reinga by car or tour bus.

An intercity bus goes through Kaeo. To get off near us ask to get off at the Totara North bridge about 15 minutes further on from Kaeo. We are about 10 minutes off Highway 10.

We have general garden work - lots of hard weeding, a bit of digging, putting bark mulch on to the weeded gardens;and earth to be shifted from an old garden in to a new raised vegeatable garden. Shifting heavy items around outside and maybe a bit of gardening with Raewyn-Andrea at the local college. If it is wet there is some spring cleaning and housework. A small garden pool needs to be completed. Any agreed mix of the above tasks would be great.

We have 2 goats, 1 cat, 1 toy poodle, 2 poochons (toy poodle and bichon freis X)and 2 hens on .2 of a hectar... more inside

We offer comfortable accommodation, healthy (mainly) organic meals, lovely bushwalks, tourist attractions in the area, some privacy, opportunity to join in all activities our family does (yoga, excursions, play with kids, big talks etc.).

We ask you to become part of the family, participate in meal preparation and other household chores, help with gardens, animals, firewood, painting house and anything else that needs to be done, be inquisitive and courteous, like children, be free of use of chemicals (drugs, cigarette, alcohol, cosmetics and such), be open to a simple and sustainable way of life, and be willing to truly share.

We are in a remote location so it is best to have your own transport, however, we can pick you up fro Kerikeri or Kaikohe if needed.
