We have a 3 acre small holding. It was a bare field when we bought it. Over the past 5 years we have been developing and planting it up. On the land we have raised beds and a polytunnel which we currently use to be self sufficient in organic vegetables. We have projects to plant a coppice for firewood, and develop a wildlife lake area. We want to develop and manage the field in a way that will encourage wildlife to return to what was an intensively farmed field for many years. We are situated a ten minute walk from a beautiful beach. We have space for people to pitch tents or park campervans. We have a hot shower and a compost toilet. We have an old (slightly grubby!) bell tent which we could put up for guests. In return for 4 hours help we would offer DIY basic breakfasts and a decent hot evening meal (home cooked, plant based!). People coming to stay must be comfortable with dogs.

You'll be made very welcome.
This is a beautiful Cotswold house with a large garden ...I need help to get the house and garden ready for visitors and also while we have people staying.
You'd have your own comfortable room and be expected to work with me and unsupervised on everything from gardening, cleaning, DIY and decorating - maybe even teaching and art work if you like that kind of thing? We'll be around so you can ask questions if you need help with stuff. It's a lovely part of the world.
I work full time often from home for a major facilities management company and have a number of my own enterprises I need help with. Plus I lecture at Universities in M&A - MBA,MSc and undergrads - I love this, especially all the international students from USA & Africa where I've worked myself...
We have a happy house and have hosted all kinds of people from Italian Media stars to Brazilian students.
I've taught English in Paris and London to everyone from school children to internation... more inside

Huxford is an off-grid 1 hectare smallholding. We run a small veg and herb plant nursery which trades at the local market. There are veg gardens and a polytunnel in which we aim to grow as much of our own veg as possible, as well as a developing "forage garden" created by underplanting an existing orchard. Help is needed in spring and summer growing veg, mowing the orchards, helping care for the friendly geese. In the autumn there is apple juicing and in winter traditional devon style hedgelaying. Help would be especially appreciated this year with several plumbing projects (inc solar hot water systems) and general building maintenance.

I live in the London borough of Walthamstow - a thriving, creative, multi-cultural patch of north-east London. I'm looking for people who would like to sample a bit of London life in return for helping me to help me create a house and garden that are both "beautiful and useful".

*June 2017 update: This summer's main project is to dig out a wildlife pond & harvest water with guttering into water butts and the pond.
I am keen to host mature single or couple helpers who have experience with such work.

Your accommodation would be in the spare bedroom; it's not large, but big enough for a comfortable double bed. You will share the house bathroom and kitchen. There's Wi-fi. Whilst I'm happy to provide food, it would be great if you enjoy cooking; either just for yourself or sharing. I eat a mostly vegetarian diet but am not in the least strict about it & don't mind you cooking/eating meat for yourself.

There is easy access to central London - the 'tube' (London Underground)... more inside

We have a large historic Georgian former rectory in the countryside, not far from the sea. We have been decorating the house and are nearly finished and are keen to start on the garden before the spring.
Any assistance with general diy; landscaping; gardening; furniture moving; organising us or walking our crazy dog would be gratefully received.
A lot of the work we need help with is outside (and this is England in the winter)- we have a vegetable garden that is in need of some major TLC before the growing season. so only the strong and the hardy will be happy!
For few hours of your time a day we offer you a bed and delicious meals (we are not vegetarians and would find hosting a vegan very difficult). We have 2 comfortable double bedrooms available.
I am an experienced, qualified English language teacher and would be happy to help you if you want to learn or practise your English here too. We speak French and some German but would love to host any brave, hard working helpers w... more inside

Also/and, someone that can do DIY to a good standard including, drilling, painting & decorating. There will be some indoor and outdoor work. I also need computer/technology help. Looking for helpers from July 20th! Especially need help during August.

Based on the edge of dartmoor national park, we're a bus ride from Exeter. Our village has a pub and a small shop (in the pub) within walking distance of the farm.

Although we're not certified organic we farm by the same principles. We grow veg/fruit/flowers and raise pork. We keep goats and ducks because we love to have them around and use eggs/make cheese etc.

We're a group of 4 adults (and two toddlers) in our mid 30's who live and work together.

We're looking for help from May - September time. The work is predominantly needed on the veg field, weeding, planting, harvesting, eating surplus, but there's always plenty to do on the farm too! We run a small campsite in August so if you come during that time we'd also need help sprucing bell tents and what not.

We'd expect 6 hours of work per day for 5 days a week. Food is provided and there would be occasional meals together, but predominantly foo... more inside
