We are a 65-something yr old couple who live with a cat, 2 dogs and a pig in a beautiful Old Rectory built in 1839 in the Lake District of England. We have 3 poly tunnels in a 1.5 hectare paddock and a half acre garden/veg plot in a rural village. We are in the process of organizing the vegetable and fruit production on mainly organic lines, with rearing rare breed pigs, and would like to offer board and food in exchange for some help with basic gardening and household tasks.
We have recently planted 20,000 deciduous trees in the 100 Ha of fellside we own and manage called Gibson's Spout ( see photo of waterfall); and in due course the swimming area in the river could do with some work to make access easier.
We can offer accommodation for two people. The accommodation is a large room on the upper story of a converted barn with two beds, tables and chairs. The main house is where Joan and I live, and you are invited to share our breakfasts and evening meals with us and our Airbnb g... more inside

Hi, I am Scottish and I live in a motor cruiser boat not far from Central London. I work as a youth worker with refugee kids and work quite changeable hours and often quite late. I am a vegetarian and don't really know how to cook meat!!! (So you might have to cook this yourself or eat veggie!)
The helper would have own room, drawers and own bathroom and shower and we would share living room and kitchen.
I require a helper who is handy, eg carpentry skills and DIY skills. I need someone to help sand and paint outside of fibreglass boat. Fibreglass skills would also be useful.
The area is very nice, right next to Thames, near parks, Woodlands, a farm, cinema, shopping centre, bowling, tube station, buses, swimming pool etc.
I would prefer to have someone who is tidy, trust worthy, hard working and respectful of my home and who is friendly and open minded.
I spent about 10 years travelling the world and enjoy meeting people from other countries and cultures..
I can tell you/... more inside

a spectacular setting with the moors on our doorstep and a conservation sensitive building project to restore a battered old house to its former glory.
We are a young family currently living in caravans on site to our exciting project and any practical, strong hands are needed. Expect to learn something about conservation building and be prepared to get stuck in.

We are a busy family of 5, living the perfect life in Somerset close to Glastonbury (perfect except that we have too much to do). We have a large garden in need of lots of work. We are looking for at least two people to help empty some barns that we are due to re-build. There may also be help needed in demolishing one barn (this would be hard work)and general gardening. Accommodation is in a bell tent. Meals provided. Last minute volunteers welcomed.

Hello HelpXers - Currently I am looking for some assistance with a number of tasks that I am slowly tackling around the farm (with one of the best views in England) which mostly involves physical work: So if you are strong and willing; if you have a really good appetite; if you can work alone or in company; don't mind turning your hand to anything from dismantling and rebuilding fencing to cleaning chicken pens to splitting logs / breaking down timber for firewood / to daily feeding of all the animals etc please contact me. You will need to bring a really good appetite with you as I have more food than I now what to do with! Essentially you will be mostly working with me (sometimes without) to try and tidy up my farm! Six days per week - on days off I'm happy to take you to South Molton so you can take the bus and spend the day exploring Devon / Somerset. Hours are roughly speaking 9am to 12pm; then 2pm to about 4pm, including feeding all the animals of an afternoon - once the anima... more inside
