We are located in Ardèche, in the South of France, live in a beautiful place with view on the Ardeche mountains and are looking for a couple of helpers.
I am Sophie,( 53 years), and since five years, I have been running with Eric (63 years) who is retiring, a guest house in an old stone farm. Around 700 people come each year in our guest house. During the season we host 10 guests, are often 15 to 20 around the table (my children and their friends often come to visit, help and share, and we organize some pizza’s party or dinnar with our guests). In the mid season or winter it is quieter, and we are aiming at transforming this guest house into a place where people from differents generations live and work in harmony with spirit and nature. We are starting permaculture, wish to become as most self sufficent and sustainable as possible, and want to share our way of life with people via hosting helpers and guests and organizing seminars.

When the guest house is closed (from Octo... more inside

Hi!

If you are planning an extended touring trip around Europe and you want to visit lots of places but don't have the budget to stay in rented accommodation then this might be a placement for you.

We are a family home located in a vineyard surrounded by rolling vines in the most beautiful part of South West France. From time to time we also need help with maintenance in the garden, in the house and when we have guests. We are 30 mins away from Bergerac and 1 hour from Bordeaux Airports with their budget airlines covering all of Europe. The Medieval town of Ste Foy La Grande and its train station connecting to the rest of Europe is just 6km away so transport is easy.

I do not need continual help throughout the summer and there are many periods of time where you might have several weeks off and also the odd week off when you can go and travel, leaving all your gear here and just taking a light back pack. Or as one Kiwi couple did buy a car and travel.

We are a permaculture family of 5, including 3 children aged 18, 8 and 7.

We live in a tiny hamlet 800m up in the Pyrenees mountains with beautiful views. Adjacent to our mountain house we have approx 12 acres of land and numerous ruins in various states

We are looking for enthusiastic and fit volunteers to come and help us. Either outside / house work or if you are a computer whizz (Mac) we need a website and help with all that is computers...

We are in the process of permaculture designing our land and are looking for people to come and be part of the team - potager and raised beds to build, grey-water system and reed beds to put in place, swales to dig and fruit trees to plant, earth pig shelter to build, strimming (bush-cutting), chainsawing and firewood to cut and split.

We are also ripping out the kitchen floor, lime rendering the back wall of the house and decorating......

There is always the pigs, chickens, ducks and horse to look after as well. You won't be ... more inside

Bonjour!

Oct/Nov 17: we would be happy to host a handyman/woman for outdoor work in the garden and/or light renovation. Thank you!

We are a french family, Christian (61), Rosine (51)and Lili (14) with 4 delightful pets: Jingle and Geisha, our enthusiastic dogs and Gable and Chapati, our delightful cats.
We used to travel world wide and now have settled down in a 19th century old farm in the beautiful countryside of Pamiers, Ariege.
I work as a teacher and Christian is a data consultant. Christian plays piano and guitar. I modele clay, papier mâché, paint, sew, do mosaic. Lili loves to draw.
We are 'bons vivants' as we say in french. Easy to meet, we appreciate good company and love foreigners!

Our farm is mostly renovated. However, we have many ongoing projects: fence work in the horses fields, clear up the stables, renovate the poultry house, some gardening to embellish the premisses.

Could be done as well : light painting, washing walls and ceilings, light eco-bui... more inside

Hello to you, and welcome to our HelpX info page. We hope you will find our page interesting, informative, and most of all, appealing to you.

Kath and I are down-to-earth Yorkshire ex-pats who would want to make you feel welcome, at home, & relaxed at our Belle Maison, which is about 150 years old. We live in the commune of St Pardoux, Deux-Sevres, in a very small and very quiet hamlet of just 4 families. We have Lucas, a friendly border collie, and Loupie, the cat. St Pardoux is 8km away from the historical town of Parthenay. Poitiers is just over an hour's drive away, with Tours, La Rochelle and Nantes being about 90 minutes away . May we remind potential helpers that it really is a very quiet area where we live.

Help is needed in our garden. Getting it back into shape for the summer. Little or no digging will be required, but plenty of grunting, lifting and shifting. We are not looking for inexperienced helpers. The more experience you have, the better, and the more likel... more inside

Immediate space available for the next two weeks, due to cancellation.
Welcome to our animal park in SW France. Looking for a last minute summer tan in the sunny South of France? We have space currently for someone / or two friends to help with winter preperations. Stacking wood in the wood shed, clearing hedging and the vegetable patch, helping clean out when the park is open, and generally mucking in with everyday jobs.

The work is pretty heavy so would suit someone fit and strong at a minimum able to carry a 25 kilo bag of animal feed.
You will have your own bedrooms, in the cottage attached to the house with bathroom / shower, use of washing machine and all meals prepared for you.

Sorry but we cannot take families, couples or children either.

A very warm welcome awaits in a unique setting of the House of Camels, in the grounds of what used to be a former monastery but is now an animal park. We live in an 8 bed-roomed farm house an hour north of the Pyrenees,

I need some people for some little building work, gardening, painting, house-keeping and sometime to drive the tractor.
SPEAKING FRENCH IS COMPULSORY, coz my father don't speak english.

Bonjour

Hi, we have lots of work that needs doing, mostly general maintenance, but also more skilled, such as electric's, plumbing and roofing. At the moment the barn roof is the most urgent. We are hoping to start on this in the Spring when we need to take off old tiles, repair/replace timbers and then put corrugated roof panels on. After that just cover with some of the tiles. If you have any experience of roofing or general building and don't mind heights and fancy a few weeks break in France in the Spring (it can be lovely weather from about February onwards) then please get in touch. We have plenty of room here for you and in return for your work we will supply bed and meals plus a few beers! If you are a couple then there could possibly be work for two people, I need some rooms decorated and help sorting out all our "junk!" .Thanks for looking

We are John and Patricia, a Dutch couple, who live in Normandy. We speak Dutch and English( and understand German) but from our French you get tears in your eyes.....
So for people who want to improve their French this is probably not the best place to come.....Or you take a 5 minute walk to the local village where ALL people speak French and are very friendly. There are some bars but no night entertainment.
But if you are looking for a beautiful green quiet part of France, this is your place.

Physically and mentally fit people wanted who like to ( help us) maintain a large exciting domain. Come and be part of our family, when we are busy doing our day to day duties. You don't live in our house but have a separate house for yourself, so lots of privacy for you and also for us ;-)
Due to some bad experiences with helpers who saw our place as a cheap resort we now only take helpers with former experience and references.
We like to welcome people who understand the concept of... more inside
