UPDATE: The garden is great right now - producing lots of veggies: Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Leeks, Lettuce and more.
There is a bit of processing to do to save the food for the winter. Some help would be great.
There are also a few maintenance jobs due on outbuildings, repairs, painting. An extra pair of hands would be very welcome.
In return we offer a stay in a fine self contained Appartement, organic food and a look into West Cork country life.
Some garden/kitchen experience would be great, also interest in maintenance jobs are useful.
We have a lovely dog, three cats and a few chicken. They also need to be cared for occasionally.
We expect participation with the house duties like in any shared living situation.

CONDITIONS: ideal stay: 2-4 weeks

Languages: English/German/Latvian

We look forward to hear from you !

ABOUT THE OPAL CENTRE:
OPAL consists of a house, Holistic Centre, outbuildings and garden area. It is in the heart of a rural part of Ireland, a small village called Donamon, which is approximately 15km outside of Roscommon Town. This makes it a great location for a peaceful and relaxed stay, whilst being fairly close to Roscommon town. It is a short drive from a number of great places to visit. There is no public transport from Donamon so you would need a car or bike to travel anywhere that is not in walking distance, although I am happy to give you a lift if I am going into town, etc.

Set in a rural environment it is an ideal location for a relaxing break, a retreat or fishing, walking, etc. whilst providing us with some help. We are a short walk from the river Suck and Donamon Castle.

OPAL offers a tranquil setting where you can escape from the distractions of modern day life. Our aim is to provide a peaceful and quiet environment, suitable for relaxation and retreat. For... more inside

The focus of help would be mainly child care, help making family meals, and light housework. We have set up a food business in a 1968 Double Decker Bus and it is now the height of the season. We have two beautiful young boys, aged 3 and 4 and 1/2 who are full of spirit and curiosity.

If this post sounds interesting to you, please feel free to contact us. All references are welcome.

Needless to say, we require a strong work ethic, a sense of humour, kindness, and patience. All things we try to maintain ourselves.

We would like 5 hours a day, 5 days a week in exchange for accommodation in our home, all meals, and free wifi.

Our home is located in Westquarter just around the corner from a lovely pub/restaurant and beside one of the most beautiful walks on the island.

Hi, we are looking for a person immediately to do gardening. You will be asked to work for 6 hours per day for 5 days per week. You will have 2 days off per week. You will not be working with animals.

We live in a small old cottage in West Cork. There are, a couple of goats, chickens as well as dogs and cats (unsuitable for allergy sufferers).

The countryside here is beautiful and very rich in wildlife and wildflowers. The cottage is in a rural location but the village shop is only 1 mile away. The nearest town is Macroom, which is about 15 minutes drive. A bicycle is available for exploring.

I have a Masters degree in animal behaviour counselling & have studied farm animal welfare at postgraduate level.

We are looking for somebody practical and you must be able to work unsupervised. You should be self-motivated & capable of cooking for yourself (all food is provided).

Over 20 years old only please.
Smoking: Outside Only.
Thanks for looking :-)
