We've been renovating and converting a huge barn using natural materials and reusing the original materials where possible.
We are situated in the heart of the forest in the Perigord Natural Park 4km from nearest town, which is lively and beautiful. If you want to be totally immersed in nature and appreciate the wildlife, this is the place for you.
Currently we need help with gardening, cleaning, maybe cooking and someone to build a brick barbecue (unless you could make one from an oil barrel.)
If you have a tent or camper van, great. If not we can provide beds.
There is a lot of work to be done outsidje like repairs to roof, moving stones, clearing ground, making drainage, levelling, fencing and extending the vegetable plot. The ground has been left unattended for many years but we have made a start planting fruit trees and started a veggie plot using the principles of Permaculture. Julia has done the permaculture certificate and would be happy to pass on what I know. We liv... more inside

Hello, our names are Pascale and Philippe. We owned a bed and breakfast during 10 years in Massif Central, in Correze on the "Plateau de Millevaches"but we stop it. Now, we rent only the little cottage in summer. We live in a mill near a river with 4 children 30, 28, 26, and Yann 10 years. Only Yann lives with us. We have got goats and a donkey. In summer we have got a lot of work, because it's a big house and a big garden. We need help with housekeeping and to chek Yann. We would like too, that Yann learns english. You will stay in your own bedroom with a bathroom, and an internet connection is available. It's a good place to learn French, you will practice with guests and with us. You could eat many French specialities, Philippe is a very good chef.
In March April May and September, we need someone to help in the garden (5ha) cutting wood, flowers, to weed and of course in summer.
If you are hard worker and/or good teacher for yann, we wait for you. See you soon. Someone with... more inside

Helper needed May 2018. We may host a very few times each year. We are mostly interested in meeting foodies and people interested in viticulture. We are interested in cultural exchange: learning about children education and food habit in your country. Cooking one of your favorite recipes would be great. This is a tiny wine estate, in the build up stage. You can help us with daily tasks - weeding, pruning, planting, labelling, cooking, baby sitting, writing blogs, making videos, taking pictures, creating content. (3 days / 6 mornings/afternoons a week).

Our place is perfect if you travel with your bike and wish to cycle around (either road bike or mountain bike). We can host you in a separate appartment upstairs from our's.

The three of us inhabit a farm building in a quiet 1600-inhabitant-township, half an hour drive from Strasbourg and Germany. The place can be reached with public transportations and more easily by car or by bike. We do not work on sundays. We'll provide food... more inside

Bonjour!

We are Annie (Australian), Jean-Philippe (French), Martin (10), Tomas (5) and Georges (1). We live in a large 18th century house on half an acre in the small village of Cox about 1 hour west of Toulouse. We speak French and English, and can stumble along in Spanish.

We are looking for practical, hard-working, independent people to help us finish renovating our house and getting our garden into shape. You should be happy spending time in a noisy family, as our boys and the neighbours' kids will be excited to meet you.

Our main projects for this spring/summer are re-tiling the roof, constructing retaining walls for the garden terraces, installing the main staircase, and the vegetable garden.

But we need all kinds of help: plastering, tiling, carpentry, painting, plumbing, garden design/maintenance, clearing out the barns, cooking, playing with kids!

We expect a total of 25 hours work per week. Depending on what big job needs doing next, we can be flexible abou... more inside

Hi,
my name is Stephen and I live in a small village in a lovely rural part of France just 30 minutes south of Poitiers.
I am restoring my house which is over 200 years old, the restoration work is being sympathetically done, with that and the garden which needs work there is plenty to do. If you have any skills to help in these areas would be great but if not I'm sure your assistance would be helpful.

I would be pleased to have a French speaker as it would allow me to continue to learn the language, but everyone, no matter your language, is welcome.
I'm a pretty chilled guy and easy to get along with.

Priority work at the moment is my garden including building a stone wall (I've built half of it already)

Your room is the best room in the house (see photo) and apart from the double bed there is a sofa & coffee table.
I was a chef for a while so the food is pretty good, I provide 3 meals a day with a beer or wine with the evening meal, fresh coffee is always on tap or... more inside

My wife and I and our last 12 year old live in a large old house in the heart of France in the central region (south of Indre), in a small country village near the town of Argenton sur Creuse. My wife is a teacher of German and I am a former teacher converted to the management of an eco-cottage, a room and tables d'hôtes. So I work at home and run two vegetable gardens with poultry and sheep. I try food self-sufficiency, very handyman, I realize the self-construction and permaculture garden all year except during school holidays (zone B). So I have concrete projects all year long (dry toilets, cabins, nest boxes, ... so I need a volunteer and motivated partner to help me in my projects.I am looking for 1 or 2 non-smoking volunteers , for periods of 2 days to 1 week In exchange you are lodged and fed in the house if it is available or the room with bathroom. You are welcome to share your enthusiasm, bring your expertise. We will be happy to welcome you Anne & David

We are a dutch couple who live in La Montagne (Haute-Saône) with our two dogs. We have a small Bed&Breakfast for the low-income-people. We like to call it a Family&Friends, because we enjoy the contact with guests who sometimes become friends.
La Montagne is a small village with 40+ inhabitants. We have no store or bar in the village. Therefore, we make sure we Meet people at our place or visit Friends (all nationalities.
We have WiFi!!!! ;-)
Our area is great for making long walks, enjoying nature.

We need some help around the house in the summertime. E.g. help in the vegetablegarden, laundry, cooking an occasional meal, cleaning, general maintenace around the house etc. We do the Work for the F&F ourselves ofcourse. Maximum is 3-4 hours a day and not necessarily every day.

We offer a caravan for you to stay in, interesting people to meet, free meals and being part of our life for some time.
We try to live as selfsupporting as possible. If you want to know more about th... more inside
