Retired couple (fit 70ís) living in a tiny town in the Strzelecki Ranges (500 m altitude).
Small orchard and poultry with views to sea in distance.
Extensive lawns and garden.
Approx. 2.5 hours east of Melbourne. Car essential.
Regular train service within 30 minutes.
Carrajung is central to many landmarks in eastern Victoria. The Gippsland Lakes, Tarra Bulga National Park, Wilsonís Promitory and the 90 mile Beach.
In exchange for accommodation and all meals duties would typically be gardening and general outbuilding maintenance. No specific skills are required, we just roll with the general trend of what needs to be done and then we do it our way.
We have travelled extensively both here and overseas. We have a good knowledge of what to see and do in our country and enjoy the company of international visitors.

My farm, located near Kaniva, is a commercial agricultural enterprise in the Wimmera region of western Victoria (midway between Melbourne and Adelaide). It has been owned by my family for more than 130 years. In 2006 I purchased the major portion of the productive land from the family Estate, and now annually crops nearly 425ha to spring wheat, barley, oats, field beans and canola. I am fully responsible for the management and on-going development of the farm, with a "share-farmer" undertaking many of the farm labour components.

I do not have enough work to keep you busy long-term, but I certainly have enough for 5-10 days. The deal I am offering is that you help me with general farm chores (e.g. burning up heaps of branches, some fencing repairs, cleaning up branches under trees, caring for my lawns and garden, cutting up firewood, planting farm trees, etc) and I provide free meals and accommodation and a modest weekly payment. Depending on the day/weather we would work for ... more inside

A helping opportunity in March has come up!

General help required starting from the 5th March.

Ideally we are looking for a couple or two friends who are happy to share a bed, but we will also welcome an individual if they are the right fit.

Helpers are needed - 4 hours per day, with 2 days free for each 5 days worked. We are also happy for you to configure your hours to allow extra days off if you'd rather.

We have bought a new house and are renovating it! So we need all kinds of help, from demolition to painting, timber work, general yard work and gardening. Any skills or experience in renovating is an absolute bonus! But if you are keen to learn we can teach you what needs to be done.
This house is a 2min drive from where we will be living, so we will drive you to and from the worksite each day, or you can walk or use your own transport if youíd prefer.
Please be in contact if this is of interest to you.
