We need someone to help us from late June until late August.

We are a couple running a small hotel on a beautiful island off the west coast of Ireland. We need someone to help us out during school holidays in July and August to do a few hours child minding for our 10 year old daughter who has extra needs. You may also do some work in the hotel garden. You will get your own room in a staff house where you can cook your own meals if you wish on your days off. Meals will be provided from the hotel when you are working.
You must enjoy and have experience of working with young children. We are looking for someone with a sense of fun who likes nature and the outdoors and who is also happy to play with our daughter. Experience of working with children with Down syndrome would be helpful, but most important is kindness, patience and an active imagination!

Someone who loves to cook, clean and declutter very welcome to help me keep order in a large modern house with myself, working mostly full time and sometimes away and 3 teens in secondary school, (17,16 & 13) plus 2 cats and 2 dogs, one of them young and still in training - and/or someone who likes to garden to help keep a large wildish garden in shape, no veg but flowers, fruit trees and bushes, lawns, japanese knotweed that needs regular picking out, taming wild bits, woodland. What I more often need is someone who can housesit while I am away, feed the pets and do some house jobs, for a few days or a week or two at a time. Upcoming dates that I need house sitting for are June 25th to July 16th. We live in a small village beside a lake, irish music in pubs locally, we have a lovely informal small community orchestra if you play music at any level - instruments in the house, cello, guitar mainly ukulele keyboard. We are warm, welcoming, lively, easy going, try to eat healthily. ... more inside

Help needed, from June.
Ideally we are looking for TWO very STRONG young men to help us to finish landscaping the garden.
We started last year but were unable to finish the project. We are laying flagstones to create a terrace and building dry stone walls. It is very physically demanding work.
Gabi will work alongside you when able.

We live on the far western coast of County Clare, in between Doolin and Lahinch and close to the Cliffs of Moher. We have two bicycles which you can use. Lahinch is a great beach and Doolin has a fantastic music scene.

We grow most of our own food, keep hens and have a large greenhouse. Gabi Loves to Cook.

Gabi is an English Language teacher and Chris is a musician. You will have your own room and share the rest of the house with us. Because of the weather in Ireland, work schedules are flexible. Weekends are free time.

Our house is from the 1800’s and situated on 5 acres of land (which comprises of a large garden and field / shed area). When we moved into the house it was with a view to enjoy it, renovate it and develop a garden for humans and wild life. Most of which has been accomplished, however due to a cancer battle (which I humbly won) we have slipped behind on our project and trying to claw back time and make headways into the next phase of our garden project.

We are based off a quiet country road, down a long arched lane. As you arrive to the house you will witness tree’s ranging from 100 to 300yrs. Our closest neighbours are 1km away to either side of the house. We are surrounded by fields of wheat and barley.

The location of home is on the border of Co. Offaly and Co. Tipperary, we are 16km from the towns of Roscrea and Nenagh.
Who are we?

I am Maggie 51yrs and I am married to a French chap called Stephane (Steph) 48yrs we have 3 dogs (great guys) Ty, Rocks and Bobby who are ... more inside
