Hello wood- & music-friends,
my name is Tim Bernhardt, I'm a german artist and a musical instruments maker. Since the making of my very first drum in 1993, today my work reflects more than 20 years of a life passionately dedicated to the elaboration of musical instruments and all kinds of innovative products made from the unique and 100% sustainable 'Wood of the Desert'.

Obtained from the Agave plant, which is well integrated in Mexican culture since over 10.000 years, this incomparable material is a true 100% sostainable resource from the only desert in Europe which is beautiful, durable, easy to process, it has great educational value and endless possibilities…

In 2008, together with a small colective, I founded the Agave-School (Pita-Escuela), a school and association for Music, Nature & Life. We are located in a little eco-village, a green oasis in the most arid area in Europe, where the Agave plant has become a symbol for our region and where we live off-grid with self-... more inside

Lovely and fertile land on the edge of the village with apples, pears, peaches, plums, quinces, figs, olives, almonds and many more.

We are on the edge of the Sierra Nevada National Park. Look up and there is a chance you'll see huge Iberian eagles soaring overhead.

One of us is a sour dough baker making delicious bread in a wood-fired oven for sale and the other is qualified in forest gardening and tree care.

If you’d like to learn about forest gardening, trees and looking after an organic vegetable patch in return for your help, please get in touch.

We have a very friendly and lively puppy, a cat and spoiled chickens too.

As we are on the edge of the village, you can easily wander up to the bars in the evening. Shops are a car ride or long walk away though. We have room for a couple downstairs and we have a nice new tent if you prefer to stay in that.

We speak English, Japanese and passable Spanish. If you speak some Spanish you'll get so much more out of the ... more inside

Hello! We are looking for an English native female to come as an au pair to our house to interact with our two sons aged 4 and 1.
I've been raising little Richie in English since he was born. But as I'm not native I've got some limitations, so I think it would be great for him to interact with a native speaker for a while!
We both work as a teacher and we are an easy going and flexible family that loves nature, rock climbing and having fun with our friends.
If you come to live with us for some months you can be sure we'll do all we can so you feel at home and enjoy being another member of the family. We appreciate that people want their own space and we'll try to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
We need someone for the first school year term: from September to late December. We'd rather you came at the end of August so we can spend more time with you as we are on holidays, making your welcoming easier, showing you the ropes and taking you to visit some places or whate... more inside

The watermill is a project centre we rebuilt. It is restored mostly ecologically and built into the rock like an earthship, it is in the beautiful Cabo de Gata natural park. The watermill is off the grid, powered by solar and wind power.

Located in Europe's only desert, close to Carboneras and some lovely natural beaches, market and vibrant cafes.

Currently we are looking for people to start at short notice. To assist with eco construction projects and film projects. Also looking for people to do gardening. Helpers with any editing, marketing, website, NGO experience and any film making skills. Musicians also very welcome.

We are hosting workshops in eco-construction and creating super soils and providing catering at a local music night. The mill during the day can be quite a fast paced with the development of International aid projects happening, films being made and construction taking place, at night it is more relaxed.

There are nature walks here, great beaches... more inside

Hello,

We are a family of 3 (Roberto (my husband), Rober (our kid 4 years old and Patricia(me)). We are both HOSTS and VOLUNTEERS and after discovering this website we try to know the world through the eyes of locals instead to be hosted in a hotel without knowing anyone.

Our house is in a suburb (El Señorio de Illescas) of ILLESCAS, a town close to Madrid and Toledo, just in the middle of the two cities (35km from Madrid and the same distance to Toledo). Illescas is the main city of this area, and with around 25.000 inhabitants it has almost everything someone can need (several supermarkets, pharmacies, gims, sport centers, library, book shops, some schools and high schools, elderly house, a lot of bars and shops,gardens,...). It´s very well communicated with Madrid and Toledo. There are buses (15 minutes walking from our house) with a frequency of at least 30 minutes to both cities. The trip takes around 20 minutes by car and 30 minutes by bus (it depends on the traffic) to t... more inside

I live now in a very nice city with a beautiful old town centre. Due to personal reasons we had to move from the countryside to the city, although Toledo is more like a big village.

I still have alive the spirit that has inspired Helpx and I still wish to share my place with people who are keen on meeting a young Spanish family with a four-year-old child and 2 medium size dogs, Ronda (a Pit Bull) and Chicho (a Mongrel).

We ask you to speak English at a native level and to spend your working time carrying out your tasks from 4 to 5 hours per day, from Monday to Saturday. Some days might be even less hours, it just depends on our working shifts as we are both veterinarians. We are flexible 100% so we are open to other schedule options. Just let us know in advance.

We ask for someone to provide some back-up on our daily routine, mainly taking care of our child Hugo, walking our two dogs, Ronda and Chicho, undertaking home tasks such as vacuum cleaning, mopping, dish washing, ... more inside

My name is Martina, I'm 39 and I have just “moved” to a house in the countryside in Castilblanco de los Arroyos, a town 30 minutes by car from Seville, at Sierra Norte Natural Park´doors. I have already restored the house and now I´m focusing on the rest of the property... definitely, too much work just for me!!!

I'm creating a cultural association in order to open an art residency for artists from all over the world to come and find synergies with Seville's cultural life and local artists through ecology and nature awareness. My art residency guidelines are degrowth, ecology, social issues, human rights, woman's rights and social awarness.

I'm looking for open-minded, respectful and hardworking people that enjoys eco-lifestyle and nature to help me with different tasks: caring the organic vegetable garden, rebuilding a fence/wall, cleaning the back yard (around 1500 squared meters), cleaning and guiding a little brook that is now abandoned, building a dry toilet and (if possi... more inside
