We are in the gorgeous foothills of the French Pyrenees and are making this offer to one or two people who are looking to enjoy some time here.
Stunning French scenery, a beautifully renovated chateau carriage house with WiFi and all mod cons, comfortable & clean rooms, good food and an easy-going atmosphere.

In October we will need a hand with a range of tasks, from decorating, moving furniture, cutting and moving firewood to domestic chores and dog walking.

Working hours and tasks can be altered to suit whoever we accept, and in October I expect to offer accommodation ONLY in exchange for around 15 hours of work per week.
The accommodation is 1st class, see the link to the gite booking page.
When not working, the area has so much to see and do and we can happily help with advise and transport.

We have travelled and worked on volantary projects over the years and have spent much of our working lives in very diverse and interesting situations.
We are open-minded and ... more inside

Hello! We are a family of four, living in an old mill house on top of a hill in the countryside. We are renovating our house and also have about 100 ares of land to maintain with a kitchen garden, fruit trees, and a pond. That, plus our jobs and our two kids who are aged 5 and 7. So we are pretty busy and enjoy having people around to help us, and also to share different cultures and experiences.

We need help with the renovating works of the house, the maintaining of the garden, various DIY jobs, but also with looking after the kids, cooking and cleaning the house. There is no need to work more than a couple of hours a day and the timetable can be arranged with the person(s) coming. At the moment we especially need help with keeping up the house and looking after the kids and meals.

We like sports, arts and crafts, music, cooking and we like to eat well! You are welcome if you would like to share our activites and want to make new acquaintances.

We seek motivated people seek a deeper connection with nature willing to work at least 4 hour a day in exchange for room and board (and access to an old Nintendo!).

You will have your own room, wifi, collective vegetarian meals, access to a lake + kayak (5km), many walks...

Very peaceful hamlet close to beautiful sights to see (Cordes sur Ciel, Laguepie, St Antonin, Albi...)

We can pick up at Carmaux train station or in Cordes sur Ciel.

We prefer autonomous people as we are a new family and cherish family time, but ewe also love good conversations and fun time with our helpers.

I'm looking for someone who has experience of building a timber frame house or who enjoys and is handy working with wood. We are putting up a smallish wooden extension to a stone building and putting in a bathroom and kitchen. The timing is from about the 2nd week of september and could last for a couple of weeks to about a month. There'd be plenty of other building to do once the extension is built if you wanted to stay on a bit.
The accommodation at the moment is quite basic - you'd be sleeping in the partially rebuilt stone house (the roof at the moment is just plastic sheeting), there's a dry loo and cold shower in the garden (and sometimes a hot shower at a neighbour's). We'd provide all meals and the working day would start about 9 and finish about 4 in the afternoon. The weekends would be free for you to do what you want.
We're in a beautiful river valley - the cÚlÚ river, in the Lot. The river runs through our hamlet and I often go for a swim after work. The house is at t... more inside

*** Some dates still available for summer 2014 ***

I am an English woman named Jo, and with the help of 2 dogs, 2 cats, 5 chickens and 3 soon to be 6 woolly lawnmowers and a digger named Doris, I am renovating a beautiful old farmhouse in the Tarn, south west France to make a space for yoga retreats.

The original farmhouse dates back to 1666, and is surrounded by 50 acres of meadows, farmland and woodlands, a big lake and what I think is the best view in the world! The house is situated in a valley below the 13th century fortified Bastide town of Cordes sur Ciel. The surrounding area is steeped in history and it is only a short trip to some lovely local towns and villages, such as Albi, Gaillac and St Antionin. Together Cordes, Albi and Gaillac make up the Golden Triangle, which is one of the prettiest areas of the Tarn, with its vineyards and white stone houses. The train to Toulouse only takes an hour, and the Pyrenees, the Mediterranean and the Atlantic coastlines are also... more inside

We are an English family living in a large rural property undergoing renovation. We have completed 2 gites but have the main house to finish. Interior projects range from rendering to painting and decorating and all diy. Exterior garden and woodland clearing and management - all weather dependent. Ideally we would organize a work party for a specific project which could be completed in a homestay.

We can provide delicious meals - vegetarian and omnivores catered for and comfortable accommodation for singles or couples.
The house is 7km from Eauze, a beautiful market town with all commerces.

We have room for 4 individuals (possibly 5) depending on season and paying guests

We are a family of four living in a small town in France. Nicolas is French, from the town itself and Bridget is half English, half Irish, yet now she is French as she has been living here for over twenty years! We have two young children of 8 and 5. We live in a house within a 15 mins walk from the town center and near some nice walks in the country.
Nicolas is working full-time and Bridget is currently doing a PhD in art. We would love to find a friendly couple who would be happy to help us with various jobs in the house such a painting, decorating, gardening, cooking... We were thinking of 20 hours work per week in exchange for food, accomodation and a warm welcoming.
We're looking for open-minded people, also very sociable and easy with children.
Bridget mainly works on her research at home, with working hours being those of school hours (9-12 and 2 til 5). It's very important for her to keep to these working hours, so she can't be sociable at these times (although she is ... more inside
