We have a small horse agistment property near Hobart, Tasmania. I coach horse riding and both my husband and I ride horses too, mostly dressage and show jumping. We have two young children who are also interested in riding. We offer a self contained, one room cottage for accommodation, meals with our family and a variety of family activities. In return we would require some assistance with our large garden, general maintenance, and also with caring for the many different pets/animals we have gathered! We really enjoy meeting new people and learning about their countries and lifestyles. We are spoilt for choice with gorgeous beaches around us for surfing, kayaking or swimming and plenty of walks via the Tangara trail system.

We’re a family of farmers - Gareth, Tonia, Ida and Leo the dog.

We live on an organically certified dairy and grain farm with Tonia's parents, and her brothers' family.

We look after the cropping on the farm and are in the process of setting up the retailing of the grains, with a farmer's market stall in the plans, and a grain mill on the way from Austria. We've also just obtained an oil press which we're hoping to use for linseed.

We're after helpers with real farming experience (not just volunteering). We're just heading into the very busy time of getting seeds into the ground and those with tractor driving experience would be very welcome. We expect around four hours of work per day from our guests.

We have renovated two rooms of the original farmhouse, sharing the kitchen of the main house, where we all take turns cooking and share vegetarian meals.

We have a couple of vegie gardens and grow most of our own garden produce, the dairy side of the business includes... more inside

Hi,

My name is Ange. I have a lovely home in rural Kingston in Hobart which is shared with myself and my two large dogs Hunter and Bosch.

I am new to Helpx but have hosted over 200 guests over the last 5 years with other hospitality sites.

The house is an 1880 farmhouse all beautifully renovated and is on a big block with lovely gardens. It is 4 km from the Kingston town centre and 14 km from the Hobart cbd. It would be best if you had a car but there is a bus stop about 15 minutes walk away.

Your room Is private and has a queen sized bed and is quite large. The house is just beautiful and cool in the summer and is lovely and warm in the colder months.

My dogs are Hunter (a hound mix) and Bosch (an English Pointer). Both dogs are gentle and sweet natured. They love pats and going for walks. Bosch is still under training. It is important that you are not allergic and love dogs - otherwise this is not the right place for you. The dogs are inside when I am. Bosch can ... more inside

Sorry we are not taking anyone at the moment, unless you have a special interest in the area

Hi,
I am developing 8 acres of land into a retreat. Ive been building a big house that is almost ready for paying customers to stay in. There is a big vegetable garden and orchard. There are 2 Siberian husky dogs, chickens, geese and bees for pets and always plenty of wildlife. Operating at the moment is a campground and sauna that can sometimes get busy in the summer because of the location right next to the Tasman National Park section of Cape Raoul and Shipstern bluff.
For some people this location is remote we are 10km to the nearest town and 2 hrs drive to Hobart. You can hardly see any neighbors so just be aware if you cant get by without your suburb/city trappings.
I live with a friend Alison who works a couple of days in Hobart. I am mainly working around home but also do occasional diving work in Hobart. I am a keen cycle tourer and sea kayaker who has done a lot of travel... more inside

We have just established ourselves at our new residence just outside Hobart on the beautiful South Arm peninsula. We have a fabulous property with great sea views and a lovely light interior. We have plenty of rooms and are really looking for helpers. There are plenty of jobs that need to be done around the place: helping to manage the land by clearing and cutting mostly fallen trees is the main job alongside other general support on the land such as building a fire pit etc...
We are 30 minutes from Hobart and 20 minutes from Hobart airport.

We prefer stays to be quite short as a stop onto a longer stay elsewhere =- we prefer stays on five days or less as we have a busy schedule and don't feel we can be fully attentive to our HelpX workers for longer than this.

Let us be your first stop in Tasmani this Spring and Summer!

I share my homes and life with backpackers. 2 homes and caravans,on some bushland located near Devonport Tasmania. Separate self contained cabin/caravan for 2 with a games/commonroom at the main house. Duties would include working in the garden, feeding animals, splitting and stacking wood and cleaning the houses plus general farm/gardening work. I don't cook much so cooking skills are good. Located central to Tasmania's tourist wonderland and 10 minutes from the Spirit of Tasmania dock. I can arrange transport if needed. Initially one week stay, then as negotiated.
