lI am 88 yrs old still active enough to live in and maintain a restored water mill 8 km. from Castillon-la-Bataille; about a km down hill from the village of St Philippe d'Aiguilhe.
I was an art-history, archeology, and English teacher until my husband and I bought a small vineyard that we worked on with helpers, Woofers, etc., and always enjoyed them.
When my son and family took over the vineyard, we moved to the mill nearby with 5 hectares of woods and meadows.
Now, on my own, I need help in preparing the vege and flower gardens for winter in November and particularly January-March, bringing in wood for heating and keeping small trees, branches and brambles from invading the meadows. I often need general repairs around an old stone house. A driver's licence is essential so you can drive my car wherever needed.
You would have an independent "studio apt." with double bed, kitchen facilities and bathroom. I can provide meals if need be and for vegetarians though I'm not one... more inside

Hi we're a Franco-British couple, Lucy and Roland, with a part-time 10 year old son, Etienne, in a large, large barn - starting to build a house within it. We're currently looking for folk to help from April, as we lack heated space for the winter. 2017 is the "year of the house":

First jobs this spring has included building the missing wall and insulating the stone walls of the barn with cellulose, next step is isolating the south wall with "straw-and-earth" and then plumbing, electricity, staircase, inside walls... And that's just the beginning...

Lucy works part-time at the Ressourcerie de Foix where we give a second life to objects that would otherwise be thrown away. You'd be welcome to occasionally join the team of volunteers there if that appealed.

Lots to keep us busy. Come and join us with the project and the rest of life: garden chickens, conserves, fruit trees, helping friends on their projects...

We've WWOOFing experience (we met when Lucy was hitching t... more inside

Beautiful watermill always in the need of a touch up.
We have a great property in the French countryside, 30mins from the beach. Very peaceful and ressourceful.
We run a gite complex with 6 cottages (which sleep between 4 to 15 people), big garden with trees, games and swimming-pool.
It's best to have a car to get out and about a bit, but there is plenty to do here and we can arrange to collect from train station.
We are looking for help with IT skills, plumbing, electrics, gardening, painting, clearing/tidying up, cooking, ironing, plasterboarding, tiling, website updating, building a compost station and composting toilets...
Must be fit, as we live on the top floor of the mill ! We have one spare bedroom. A shared big bathroom (bath, shower and 2 bassins), a separate toilet also to share.
We have 2 friendly cats, Paprika and Atlas and have just got some chickens !
Thanks
Alyssa (27) & Nicolas (29)

Who want to pick some grappes ??? Big work but nice group, good food, fire,... a great experience !

Hey everyone!

We're a young couple with a baby taking over a beautifull 9ha vineyard in an excellent terroir of Bordeaux area. Even if we have experience in viticulture & oenology, we're only getting into our third year on our own. Big challenge ! We'll be trying as much as we can to put biodynamy in practice and we're also bringing our horse in the vine.
A nice chance for people curious about wine to learn more about it and for those who simply like having some physical excercice in an amazing nature ;-)
For now, we're looking for the harvest from the 2nd up the 11/12th of october ! we'll be picking all together and sort the grappes after !

Hope to cross your way in the vine soon !

Julien

Hi deep-France lovers,

Welcome in the Languedoc's countryside to join our team!
I've been restoring this old house for 5 years -well, we had a break these last two years- with friends and we do every type of jobs: masonry, frames, gardening, an helper even set up a forge! We also decorate, make plasters and fine painting in the chapel; it's nice if you have skills but there is also place for beginners. We work a good five hours a day (not on Sundays!) but it's flexible: feel really free to take days out to enjoy the area, we're near Saint-Guilhem-le-désert and other beautiful places to visit.

It's a XVII century house that comes from my family, lot of character and space but only matress to sleep on; comfort of XXIst century is coming on: electricity, washing-maching and even hot water in the bathroom, you're not dreaming!. Although it's too geek for the house, wi-fi is there. And a well-tuned piano.

We cook together and we look forward to combine local and world recip... more inside

Looking now for enthusiastic helpers from September 2017, preferably for a minimum of four weeks. Longer stays welcomed.

We expect to be busy throughout 2017 although the main tourist season remains from April to October. I prefer to take workers who are keen to take their place as members of our team providing a quality service for paying guests.

I am the proprietor of a large Chambres d'Hotes in a quiet village in Southern Normandy, just north of the town of Avranches. I was formerly a teacher (Head of Business and Economics in a large Comprehensive school) in England but have now organised a busy Bed and breakfast business here in Normandy, and have recently become a partner with a leading hotel company. I have other members of my family living in the neighbouring village of Montviron who help at the business from time to time . The village of Le Luot is very small and provides a peaceful and relaxing environment.

You are invited to help us provide a quality service f... more inside
