we live in hobart, not far from the city, we have 6 children although not all of them still live at home. We also have foster children come and live with us for periods of time. I would like helpers to be prepared to assist with household tasks and gardening. We are non smokers and would like helpers to be as well. We are healthy but not vegan or fully organic. Our home is busy but there is room with a double bed for a keen helper.

Our aim is to build a self sustained comunitary place, where individuals can come to connect to themselves and the environment.

Our approach: producing our own food with organic methods, improving the quality of the soil, building in a sustainable way, and co-habitating in a giving and friendly environment.

So far: with his diverse building experience, Marcus has gone through the entire design and building process of an environmentaly friendly house (water, energy, sewage, heating and material wise). A passive irrigation system is already functioning, which draws water from the river to most of the workable land, in a harmless manner.

At the moment, apart from the usual daily activities, we are building out of recycled wood meditation cabins in the forest. The objective would be to provide a space for retreat from the noise of the city, to those who most require. In line with that, ee are also opening the house as a sort of hostel (initial faze), and building campsites ar... more inside

Hi!! We are establishing a 2.5ha vegetable/fruit/berry garden close to Cygnet at Deep Bay and would love some HELP!! We live in a bush setting about 1.5km from the coast. We have private accommodation available in detached room away from the house, this currently contains a double bed, single bed, fridge and heater. Share meals with us, which will be mostly vegetarian and work with us for about 4-5 hours a day (stay 5 days and get the weekend off!) mostly gardening although there may be some building and maintenance tasks. We have a yacht, dinghy and bikes for fishing and entertainment on days off. We have had a number of backpackers staying with us in the past through word of mouth and it's been great fun, this is our first year on HELPX.

The property is situated in Woodbridge, a small town 35km south of Hobart on the D'Entrecasteaux Channel.
The property has great views of the Channel and Bruny Island with a small beach in front of the property

I am the owner and operator of TassieTastebuds - an artisan business producing preserves and conserves.
Each Saturday I sell my produce at the famous Salamanca Market in Hobart. Bruny Island Cheese and Huon Pine Picnic Planks share my stall which is in the centre of the market. I have a small production kitchen and a fledgling market garden on the property. I specialize in growing rhubarb and horseradish and all the other raw ingredients are procured locally.

I need assistance in the kitchen, and Bill, my partner needs help outdoors to maintain the garden. We are devoted to the no-dig technique using lots of mulch, so weeds are minimal (In a perfect world!)
Work would be approx. 5 hours per day, with flexible hours so you can take time to enjoy the beautiful sur... more inside

We are located 30 minutes south of Hobart in Woodbridge, on a beautiful property overlooking Bruny Island and the D'Entrecasteaux Channel.

Our property is home to 90 mature olive trees, spacious lawns and some bushland on the hill behind our house all of which requires maintenance and upkeep. However, my work keeps me time-poor and my wife Katie is unable to manage the property as she suffers from chronic fatigue syndrome. Her condition causes her to sleep very long hours so much of your time would be uninterrupted, but our dog Jack (black lab) and several cats will provide plenty of cuddles. And when Katie is up and about, she is exceptionally good company too!

This position would suit 1-2 people looking for a live-in arrangement, to manage and upkeep our property and home. Along with outdoor property maintenance and tending to our olive orchard, some indoor housework would also be required including some cleaning and cooking (the view from our kitchen makes cooking a ple... more inside
