We live in the most lovely part of the Scottish Borders which we enjoy sharing with others. The Farm is part of an SSI (site of Special interest) with many rare species of birds butterflies and orchids with a Pictish Fort on the top land. We have a busy yard of horses for a charity. We always enjoy having a extra pair of hands to help us care for the horses as well as the maintenance of grazing, buildings and saddlery. Experienced riders would be able to assist in exercising the horses - the riding is spectacular and all off road. Food and accommodation provided.
Please see the youtube video below for an overview of what we do at our charity.
This link is to a recent TV programme showing both Equibuddy and life in the Borders. we feature in programme 21

We have recently taken over as 4th generation at our Dell. The Dell is a beautiful Georgian house with adjoining holiday cottages, set within peaceful, secluded grounds on the edge of the Abernethy Forest.
We are a young family with our son Harris aged 2 and another due in September.
The Dell began in the 70's and is now into a period of restoriation, maintenance, gardening, and landscaping alongside hosting our holiday guests and events.
We are looking for practical minded, experienced and energetic individuals to help us with this exciting project.
Skills in plumbing, electrics, joinery, painting and gardening would be a bonus. Cleaning of the cottages will be a major part of the role, particularly during the busy season we can be changing over cottages each day.
Accommodation is in a three bedroom, semi detached bungalow in the gardens and we are 1 mile from Nethy Bridge, a sleepy, friendly village, on the edge of the Abernethy Forest.
There are great opportunities for w... more inside

We have some spaces for helpers from March until June. We have 26 acres of rolling grassland in the Clyde Valley. We are 4km from the nearest small town (Biggar). The farm has a small flock of Hebridean Sheep, some alpaca , ponies and a thoroughbred horse, as well as chickens, geese and quail. We grow vegetables and fruit in a walled garden and there is a small orchard.
Work includes animal husbandry, mucking out, weeding, planting of trees and vegetables, pruning, hedging etc. Currently we are concentrating on the restoration of our farm buildings (built in the 1790's). The buildings, listed and protected by Historic Scotland, are being restored using traditional materials (lime mortar, stone work, slates and cast iron).
There is some gardening, landscaping and groundwork in progress. We are creating a series of ponds at the back of the farm for water storage, and a small wildlife pond. The Georgian farmhouse also serves as a 4 Star Bed and Breakfast, and the farm, barns and gr... more inside

Our Family built this House in 1960 as a holiday home. It is now our dwelling House,a samll timber house built on a hill overlooking the sea to The Isle of Skye and also looks down the Sound of Sleat to Ardnamurchan Point and The Small Isles,
The House is situated in a large Highland Garden of some 5 acres with a large Top Park further inland of 2 acres. We are now looking for helpx helpers to work in the garden, but also to hopefully stay a little longer and occasionally "hold the fort" and help out with house-keeping, cooking, change-overs at The Green House, (a little Luxury Cabin in the south end of the Garden) and help look after 2 cats & a dog.
It is a beautiful area steeped in ancient history from the Brochs build about 300 BC, to Gavin Maxwell's Ring of Bright Water at Sandaig to the World's oldest car ferry, The original Skye Ferry. Must be able to enjoy a glass of wine and eat Seafood if Vegetarian! It is a minimum stay of at least 1-2 MONTHS and a min age of 30 yrs old.
