Due to bit of a family crisis everything has ground to a halt and had to be put on hold. Hope to be back on track by end of April.

We live in an old Farmhouse overlooking the sea. Have four cats and an old spaniel.

There is a comfortable spare room with both double and single bed. We can offer the makings of breakfast and lunch and are flexible about dinner one of us is vegetarian and one not.

Need help to cut hedges, clear brambles, burn gorse and generally clear the land so that we can get a veggie patch and a polytunnel up and running again.
Am in the process of clearing a barn to set up a glass studio -so when it rains there are plenty of little DIY jobs needing done, from painting to basic carpentry.

Wifi, relaxed atmosphere, have good couchsurfing references.

Ruaridh and Euan's Market is a small local enterprise, which is set in the stunning highlands of Scotland. Phase one of the market garden renovation is Scheduled to begin January 2012. A small piece of land of approx 1/4 of an archer requires cultivation, poly-tunnel requires building and also raised beds. This is an exultant opportunity for those wishing to be involved at the beginning of a new project and to learn about crofting life and working with in a small area using square foot planting methods. This opportunity is open to people who are willing to live in family home.

We are a small family run B&B in Speyside Scotland (where the whisky comes from)

We are looking for someone to lend a hand (April - September 2012) with the B&B e.g. room changes. If we are quiet you won't be required to help so can enjoy a day off. Accommodation provided (caravan with cooker, fridge, toilet, Satelite TV, DVD Free Wifi) for maximum 2 hours a day. You will also have access to house bathroom (with shower)

Will include breakfast and evening meal for maximum 4 hours between house and garden.

We say maximum because some days we only have 1 room let (or even no lets), If weather isn't suitable for garden your time would be your own after doing any room change required

Happy to take a couple (caravan has double bed) with 1 person helping with the B&B and the other doing a few hours work in the garden. . . . or mix it up as you wish

Will come to a fair arrangement to give you maximum time to enjoy this beautiful part of Scotland together

Very flexible.... more inside

We live in south west Scotland on the outskirts of Dumfries. We have a small farm with 100 sheep, five dogs and four horses. My husband runs the local dumfriesshire hunt and is responsible for looking after approx 60 foxhounds and five horses. We are looking for one person as soon as possible to come and help a bit with our son at home. Most important to us is someone who is interested in childcare but a person who can ride and has experience with sheep is an advantage. The hours of work will be approximately 16 hours per week leaving the person the opportunity to go and explore the solway coast. This person will have the chance to come hunting with us at least once a week. We are within walking distance to dumfries and can provide a bike if required. There is a large en-suite bedroom or double room with TV.

We live in the Cairngorms National Park and have a rabbit fenced walled garden on a south facing slope with an amazing view down the river to the hills. I try and manage growing flowers, veg and an orchard, with ducks and chickens, but have other committments during the week, so I need help to maintain terraces, trees, general gardening and building maintenanace to keep on top of it. The wildlife is amazing including red squirrels, ospreys, deer and enough rabbits to feed the whole of scotland. We are half a mile beautiful walk from a great village shop, with public transport to and from aberdeen and surrounding areas to the village 2x a day. We have 2 children so refrences required. Our home is a Victorian wooden house where you would stay with us during your visit.

*** NOT HOSTING AT PRESENT ***
We breed & raise rare breed pigs and also keep a few chickens on part of my semi-redundant family farm. The rest of the 130 acres of land is planted in forrest with paths and bridleways through the trees.
We are hoping to establish an orchard and kitchen garden / polytunnel area as well as doing some hedging planting, fencing, creating wildlife 'pockets' of land, traditional building and dry stone dyking work and repair, building yurts/roundhouses or something similar in the forrest areas we have. The farm has been neglected over the last 20 years or so and we are trying to get it back to being a tidy, working farm. We always have things to do with the pigs which is great fun and should prove informative for anyone wanting to learn about keeping pigs themselves.
Although not certified organic, we try to live in an eco-friendly, low impact way and re-use and recycle wherever possible.
We have the time, materials and experience to pass on these skill... more inside
