Hello people, would you like to come to the sunny south west of France?
I am building a house from scratch from nearly all old and reclaimed materials.
The house will be no ordinary building, but it will be of top quality.
I have been building houses for the last 30 years and this is an opportunity for someone to learn all the relevant trades.
I will also be training a couple of Spanish horses and there is here an opportunity for people to ride or if they dont know how then to learn.
There is also farm work to be done like fencing and hay making.
There is a very clean and tidy caravan, biggish and very homely and I will be in a mobile home where we can all cook and eat and chat.
I have a second car that could be used by you if you are trustworthy.
The town of Aignan is 4 minutes away with a shop or two and a couple of cool bars .
I am also hoping to find somebody who can help me with some art exhibitions in the spring summer, I am also an artist.
If you speak french ( min... more inside

We are a family of three, including a two-and-a-half-year-old little girl, living in a house in the very South of France, 5 minutes from a quaint historical little town in the Pyrenees.

The house has a large garden and a couple pastures and is set in a very quiet area (a hamlet surrounded by pasture land) in the foothills of the Pyrenees (40 minutes from ski resorts and 2 hours from the sea).

We are francophones and I am an English teacher at the local high school. I've visited 22 countries and lived in the UK and Canada. When I was a child, we used to host foreign students who wanted to learn French and I loved the experience.

We are very "Nature"-oriented, eat organic food, and have a vegetable garden as well as some fruit trees.

The garden is big and used to be an "abandoned" pasture, so it's fairly "rustic".

A lot of work has been put into it over the last few years (clearing, planting fruit trees and raspberry bushes, setting up a vegetable garden, etc...), as ... more inside

My associate and I manage a bar/restaurant on the nice campsite Domaine Duravel (4 stars) in the Lot valley in the southwest of France. The campsite is meanly visited by French, Belgian and Dutch people. The campsite has 280 places and has several swimming pools and other sports facilities. It is situated in the beautiful nature of the lotvalley, surrounded by vineyards and next to the river. The bar and restaurant are open every day but we expect from you only 5 hours of work 5days a week. This will leave you more then enough time to mingle with local people and tourists, visit the beautiful monuments and villages in the Lot valley (like Rocamadour, Saint Cirq Lapopie etc). All summer season several parties are organised in the surrounding villages.

We'll provide a bed in a house next to the bar, with bathroom (shared with others). You can use the internet freely. Breakfast, lunch ad dinner can be eaten freely with the rest of the staff. You can use the swimming pools.

Most important is that I am french and do not speak english; apart from french, I speak spanish, italian and german.

I am looking for someone for a shortish stay, even just a few days, to do some basic garden clearance and housework.

This is not a place with a big group of helpers, and I cannot be with you all the time, since I go out to work. I provide all food and wine, and you have your own room in the house. Also, I have 4 cats.

I live in a little hamlet about 10 minutes from Villefranche de Rouergue, but there is no public transport. I will take you on little outings occasionally.

Small house in village in Ariege with small garden. Would need help with gardening, some decorating and DIY. At the moment have a very neglected and overgrown garden in need of much attention and a small house requiring decorating and updating ready for letting out. If two people - would have to share twin room.
This is excellent walking country, climbing, kayaking and other outdoor activities. The village has a bar and a couple of restaurants should a helper wish for outside refreshments!

We are Dom & Liz, and run a B&B/gite business from our renovated farmhouse, set in 7 hectares with panoramic views of the Pyrenees mountains.

We're closed for the spring to tackle landscaping and renovation projects - digging the vegetable garden, building woodsheds and indoors a yoga studio.

The work is quite varied and would suit people that like physical/outdoor tasks. Any practical skills are appreciated.

We look for around 25 hours of help per week, in exchange for accommodation and food.

Accommodation is normally in our adjoining gite, and you have access to wifi, sat tv & free calls to uk/us landlines.

We are 5 miles from the nearest town. We can lend you a bike, and help out with lifts now and again, but its essentially a rural location.

We are Mo and David. We have retired from a very busy life running a spiritual centre in Kent England. We moved to this beautiful area in South West France in November 2007. We are both artists, David works in wood mostly although he is also fully skilled in building and maintenance. David and Mo built a kiln last summer and Mo is returning to making ceramics after a long absence. Volunteers would be welcome to use the pottery and art studio in their spare time..

We have about four and half hectars (about 12 acres) of land, which consists of woodland and meadows, which is cut once a year by a farmer, and a rose garden which surrounds the house. we also have a thriving vegetable garden.

We have an organic vegetable and fruit garden. We are very conscious of the necessity of being organic, but have had to use a limited amount of weed sprays on the ornamental garden.

We are ten minutes from the nearest town, in a very rural area, we have bikes and lots of quiet countrysid... more inside

We're a middle age'sh couple living in the South of France with grown up kids in the UK who visit as much as they can. We're still trying to decide what to do when we grow up but in the meantime we're renovating a barn and a Farmhouse ready for holiday accommodation in the summer. The place is set in 8 hectares of woodland and meadow on a sunny hillside near a few picturesque villages and only 45 minutes from the beautiful city of Toulouse (Train station 10 minutes drive away) We have 2 swimming pools, gardens and the most stunning views of the Pyrenees you could imagine. We offer really nice accommodation in the gites attached to the farmhouse and opportunities for you to have time to explore the area and get to know this most unspoiled area of France (Haute Garonne/Ariege) and have some fun living and working with us. In return we ask for help with building, decorating and gardening work.
