Hello, we live in the beautifull village of Cordes sur Ciel, which has just been selected "most beautifull village of France 2014" by the French themselves on France2 National television. You can watch the broadcast here http://pluzz.francetv.fr/videos/le_village_prefere_des_francais.html.
We live with our 7 year old son, our dog & 2 cats in a 17th century 350m2 Maison du Maitre type house; which is located in the village, on walkingdistance of all the restaurants, cafés and shops. For this summer we are looking for someone who can plasterboard some walls & ceilings, and/or a carpenter. As we run a music agency and a boutique and we are renovating part of the house, our lives are busy enough and any help is very welcome. We can offer a big 2 persons bed -sittingroom (30m2) for the helpers (with Wifi of course). Couples are welcome too as we could also use an extra hand in the shop & cleaning the house. Pls. don't hesitate to contact us in case you might have any further questions.

My house is on the Pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostella, and pilgrims can stay the night in the village. From mid-July to the end of August 2014 I will need a hand with physical tasks such as gardening, building a shed, DIY, plumbing and painting! There are plenty of good walks around, two nearby bars, a largish town 10 minutes away, and the River Lot. There are a couple of spare bicycles if you fancy cycling in which case I will probably join you! The village is listed as one of France's most beautiful. If you like meeting people, improving your French and enjoying a relaxing lifestyle, this could be for you! You will have your own bedroom with a shower and toilet just outside.

Our Holiday house is part of an old farm in a beautiful village in the foothills of the Pyrenees. We really enjoy outdoor activities, walking climbing, mountain biking etc and it would be great if we could find some helpers who felt the same or would like to be guided in these activities in return for work. The jobs we have are mainly basic renovation under guidance, gardening and occasional baby sitting for Luca 10 and Ben 8. The helpers will have their own bedroom and will have access to wifi. We have bikes and climbing gear to borrow. We are on the train line so you can easily get to Toulouse or in the winter you can get the train to the ski resort of Ax-le-Thereme.

Due to unforseen circumstances we are urgently looking for some lovely helpers to stay with us for a while! What we would looking for would be:
1) someone to help us out at home - mainly with household tasks (cooking, cleaning and similar) dog walking, etc (preferably with driver's licence) and/or

2) someone who wants to come help out with manual work - decorating and renovating and rather a lot of gardening...

or a combination of the two! We'd prefer at least a 4 week stay!

Now a bit about us - I, Marie, am 44 and my husband Patrick is 50 years old. We have 5 children (23, 22, 21, 18 & 13), a cat called Scarlett, 4 chickens, a black lab called Cassy, a border collie called Oreo and a cocker Spaniel puppy called Ziggy. Our house is always loud and a bit crazy!! My husband, Patrick, is Belgian, and runs our brasserie, and I am English and work for a non-profit AIDS organisation from home during the day. My 13 year old vegetarian German/English daughter lives with us, the r... more inside

General gardening and sprucing up of the house would be much appreciated.I've just arrived back after some months away during which time I had careful house sitters. There is, though, some garden furniture painting to do and quite a lot of gardening. I'd greatly appreciate your ideas. This is a lovely area of France, stunning countryside and beautiful, ancient farmhouse. No convenient public transport but I would meet you in Albi.Someone with a car would be able to make the most of the surrounding villages, some of the most beautiful in France. If you don't have one, though, I am prepared to give some time to showing helpers around. The house is about two minutes' walk from nearest village with a bar and bistro but not a buzzy village square. 5 km along beautiful crest walk to a much bigger neighbouring village. Own room with ensuite shower room offered plus good food and local wine. Willing to accept a couple.

Le Gers, near Agen, SW France.

A somewhat unusual hosting offer as it is for such a short period of time and with two very specific jobs. However if you happen to be in the area, this might be a handy stepping-stone for you.

We will principally be loading onto tractors, machine-splitting and moving lots of piles of logs, some small, some medium, some big. I need 2-3 people max for two days work and then one day off, at the local market for a great lunch and then being dropped off at the station. I can pay, but alas only pocket money, 50€ each but the outdoors work will be invigorating and extremely satisfying (piling firewood always is), plus we always eat (and drink) well in the evenings! The other job is oiling up some teak, which is not too strenuous but a little tedious (also satisfying once done finished though).

Please see my comments from other HelpXers. Also, really check your dates as I am only looking for Helpers from the evening of the 3rd until after lunch on ... more inside

CAUTION with us the work is hard but it is well rewarded !

ATTENTION we live in the country, we are isolated , no activities or possible evenings.

- ----------------------------------------

We are a French family living in the middle of the countryside, Gers, Midi Pyrenees.

We have many projects and a lot of work to complete our dreams.

We are renovating an old farm where everything is done : floors, walls, plaster , furniture ...
We would like to develop a beautiful garden and small livestock with us to achieve maximum self -sufficiency.

We live very far from large cities , and the Gers is a sparsely populated region.

We have two children aged 4 and 5 years , a very large dog , rabbits , sheep, pigs , a cat ...

We welcome people (young and old) motivated and courageous, who love the manual and physical labor. This is work that must carry heavy loads.

We ask 5h of work per day, 5 days a week in exchange for three meals and the best possible reception. ... more inside

Hello i'm Jean-Pierre, i'm 55. I'm living in a small town in the south of France. I have 3 grown up children. One lives in Millau, and my twins daughter are often away travelling around the world.
I have a beautiful old house that i'm renovating with a big backyard (you can even see dears sometimes).
There is a supermarket few meters from the house and a park with the river to go swimming or kayaking. You can join the center of the town by feet or bus.

Millau is famous for its Viaduc (biggest Bridge of Europe) and extreme sport (paragliding, kayaking, rock-climbing..). The town is pretty quiet during the winter but there is a lot of things to do in summer (traditional market, walks..) There are a lot of beautiful villages around and some castles.
Also, Montpellier, a big city close the the mediterranean sea is only 1h15 from Millau. During the winter the skiing places are not so far too.

How did i find helpX?
My daughter went to Australia for one year and had an amazing ... more inside
