We are two writers who live in an old cottage on the edge of a small ridgetop village within half an hour's drive of the Pyrenees. Our lifestyle is as eco as we can make it. We are looking for help with gardening work and wood cutting as well as some organisational help in the house. We are ovo-vegetarian and eat predominately organic food. The atmosphere is informal, creative and laid-back. Originally from the UK, we both speak French and Leaf is fluent in Spanish, Sue has some German.

My wife and I and our last 12 year old live in a large old house in the heart of France in the central region (south of Indre), in a small country village near the town of Argenton sur Creuse. My wife is a teacher of German and I am a former teacher converted to the management of an eco-cottage, a room and tables d'hôtes. So I work at home and run two vegetable gardens with poultry and sheep. I try food self-sufficiency, very handyman, I realize the self-construction and permaculture garden all year except during school holidays (zone B). So I have concrete projects all year long (dry toilets, cabins, nest boxes, ... so I need a volunteer and motivated partner to help me in my projects.I am looking for 1 or 2 non-smoking volunteers , for periods of 2 days to 1 week In exchange you are lodged and fed in the house if it is available or the room with bathroom. You are welcome to share your enthusiasm, bring your expertise. We will be happy to welcome you Anne & David

We are a small organic and educational farm with 50 goats, 13 donkeys a bunch of chickens and peacocks. We make our own goat cheese and rent the donkeys for trips in the "Plateau des mille etangs". We try to set up a big vegetable garden with ancient races. Our place name comes from the old water mill on our site (in function for making apple juice in autumn) which we keep in mind of everybody with expositions and concerts. We are regularly visited by schools and groups of handicapped or elderly people.
We have also a small campsite and 2 guestrooms.
