My husband (Keith) and I (Helen ... Aitch) have lived permanently in France since 2004. We live in an 'ex dairy farm' house and have about a hectare of land including a little woodland that runs down to the river.
The house has a history dating back to the Revolution in the late 1700's and is in the heart of rural Normandy. We are deep in the Normandy countryside and very tranquil.
Most of the land is used for our pet animals (mostly rescued), 2 donkeys, 4 sheep, 2 geese, 5 ducks and 4 chickens. We have a tortoise, 5 house dogs, 5 'garage' cats, 2 outside cats and 1 house cat.
I am vegetarian, my husband is a meat eater (and also the chef).
We teach English to foreign students during the school holidays ... ages range from 11 to 60 and they can stay with us for a couple of days or up to 6 weeks.
I am interested in art (and have a studio), ceramics, photography, animals, nature. My husband shares my interest in nature and animals and also plays badminton and football (March to ... more inside

La Capelle is a beautiful very old farmhouse surrounded by fields and garden. It takes a lot of upkeep and we have exciting plans to change the design of a large chunk of the garden. We would welcome help to achieve the work. There will be building dry stone walls, garden paths a lean to on the side of the barn for storage. There is a lot of general gardening for anyone interested in less physically demanding work. Even taking over the cooking in order to free us up to do the more heavy duty work. We offer good food and decent accommodation. Thank you.

Hello!
LOOKING FOR PEOPLE NOW :) preferably a couple or girls just for the next few weeks as Emily will be on her own (sorry guys)

Long time Helpx volunteers, first time hosts here! We're an english couple (learning French) Emily (25) and Dan (26), and were embarking on an exciting project in France.

We have about an acre with 2 buildings and plans to re-build a third. This is a rustic project so if you embrace the outdoors and want to disconnect from the internet, this is the Helpx for you!

Its situated in the French countryside near the beautiful village of Coulouvray Boisbenâtre. This project would be ideal for 2 or 3 friends or a couple wanting a working holiday (obviously if you are one person you can also come). As well as working we will plan lots of fun activities such as biking (we have 2 you can borrow), live music in the evening around camp fires (we have a ton of instruments!), yoga in the mornings, art and crafts, jogs around the countryside (Emilys current... more inside
